  • This paper presents a new ZVS-PWM high frequency inverter. The ZVS operation is achieved in the whole load range by using a simple auxiliary reverse blocking switch in parallel with series resonant capacitor. The operating principle and the operating characteristics of the new high frequency circuit treated here are illustrated and evaluated on the basis of simulation results. It was examined that the complete soft switching operation can be achieved even for low power setting ranges by introducing the high frequency dual duty cycle control scheme. In the proposed high frequency inverter treated here, the dual mode pulse modulation control strategy of the asymmetrical PWM in the higher power setting ranges and the lower power setting ones, the output power of this high frequency inverter could introduce in order to extend soft switching operation ranges. Dual duty cycle is used to provide a wide range of output power regulation that is important in many high frequency inverter applications. It is more suitable for induction heating applications the operation and control principle of the proposed high frequency inverter are described and verified through simulated results.

  • A new three-phase soft-switching active front-end inverter is presented. The topology consists of a quasi-resonant PWM boost converter with an additional resonant branch, which provides low loss at high frequency operation. This leads to a high conversion efficiency and a remarkable reduction in the siBe of the input inductor. To synchronise the PWM pattern with the resonance cycle, a modified space vector modulation with asymmetrical PWM pattern is used. A high power factor can be achieved for both power flow directions. Due to a new control strategy the converter features a low content of harmonics in the line currents even for distorted line voltages.

  • This paper presents a new cascaded asymmetrical single phase multilevel converter with a lower number of power semiconductor switches and isolated DC sources. Therefore, the number of power electronic devices, converter losses, size, and cost are reduced. The proposed multilevel converter topology consists of two H-bridges connected in cascaded configuration. One H-bridge operates at a high frequency (high frequency inverter) and is capable of developing a two level output while the other H-bridge operates at the fundamental frequency (low frequency inverter) and is capable of developing a multilevel output. The addition of each power electronic switch to the low frequency inverter increases the number of levels by four. This paper also introduces a hybrid switching algorithm which uses very simple arithmetic and logical operations. The simplified hybrid switching algorithm is generalized for any number of levels. The proposed simplified switching algorithm is developed using a TMS320F2812 DSP board. The operation and performance of the proposed multilevel converter are verified by simulations using MATLAB/SIMULINK and experimental results.

  • This paper presents a steady-state operation analysis of full-bridge series-resonant inverters focusing on the distorted load current due to low-quality-factor resonant circuits in induction heating and other applications. The regions of operation based on the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and non-zero-voltage switching (NON-ZVS) operations of the asymmetrical voltage-cancellation control technique are identified. The effects of a distorted load current under a wide range of output powers are also analyzed for achieving a precise ZVS operating region. An experimental study is performed with a 1kW prototype. Simulation and experimental studies have confirmed the validity of the proposed method. An efficiency comparison between the variable frequency method and the conventional fixed-frequency method is provided.

  • A wide passband filter consisting of 3-stage ssymmetrical coupler can be realized, where the admittance inverter parameters in equivalent circuit of asymmetrical coupled microstrip lines are given as a function of a fundamental design parameter of a bandpass filter. An experimental filter was designed over 22 percend bandwidth centered at 9GHz and optimized using Super-Compact. Measured forward transmission and forward reflection closely matched design data but measured insertion loss was slightly higher (0.7dB) than the designed value.

  • In this paper, a single-phase DC-AC inverter using two embedded Z-source converters is proposed. The proposed inverter is composed of two embedded Z-source converters with common DC source and output AC load. The output AC voltage of the inverter is obtained by the difference of output capacitor voltages of each converter. The output voltage of each converter take shape of the asymmetrical AC waveform centering zero voltage. Therefore, the proposed inverter can generate the same output voltage despite low VA rating L-C elements, compared to the conventional inverter using high DC voltage with AC ripple. To verify the validity of the proposed system, the PSIM simulation was achieved under the condition of rapid increase of DC source (110[V]${\rightarrow}$150[V]) and R-load (50[${\Omega}$]${\rightarrow}$300[${\Omega}$]). For controlling the voltage of the inverter system, the one-cycle controller was adopted. As results, the proposed inverter output the constant AC voltage (220[V]rms/60[Hz]) for all conditions. Also, the R-L load and nonlinear diode load were adopted for the proposed inverter loads, and we could know that the its output voltage characteristics were as good as the pure R-load. Finally, the RMS and THD of output AC voltage were examined for the different loads, input DC voltages and reference voltage signals.

  • This paper presents a novel soft-switching PWM utility frequency AC to high frequency AC power conversion circuit incorporating boost H-bridge inverter topology, which is more suitable and acceptable for cost effective consumer induction heating applications. The operating principle and the operation modes are presented using the switch mode equivalent circuits and the operating voltage and current waveforms. The performances of this high-frequency inverter using the latest IGBTs are illustrated, which includes high frequency power regulation and actual efficiency characteristics based on zero voltage soft-switching(ZVS) operation ranges, and the power dissipation as compared with those of the conventional type high frequency inverter. In addition, a dual mode control scheme of this high frequency inverter based on asymmetrical pulse width modulation(PWM) and pulse density modulation(PDM) control scheme is discussed in this paper in order to extend the soft switching operation ranges and to improve the power conversion efficiency at the low power settings. The power converter practical effectiveness is substantially proved based on experimental results from practical design example.

  • In this paper, a novel type auxiliary active edge resonant snubber assisted zero current soft switching pulse modulation Single-Ended Push Pull (SEPP) series load resonant inverter using IGBT power modules is proposed for cost effective consumer high-frequency induction heating (IH) appliances. Its operating principle in steady state is described by using each switching mode's equivalent operating circuits. The new multi resonant high-frequency inverter with series load resonance and edge resonance can regulate its high frequency output power under a condition of a constant frequency zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation principle on the basis of the asymmetrical pulse width modulation (PWM) control scheme. Brand-new consumer IH products using the proposed ZCS-PWM series load resonant SEPP high-frequency inverter using IGBTs is evaluated and discussed as compared with conventional high-frequency inverters on the basis of experimental results. In order to extend ZCS operation ranges under a low power setting PWM as well as to improve efficiency, the high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) strategy is demonstrated for high frequency multi-resonant inverters. Its practical effectiveness is substantially proved from an application point of view.

  • This paper presents the switching angle and voltage for maximizing torque of 4-phase 6-poles SRM. The switching angle and voltages was determined through the approximated analysis and computer simulation by using SIMULINK according to the speed and torque required by load but we used new analytic equation from maximum torque characteristic And then one-chp micro-controller controls the switching angle and voltage of an asymmetrical inverter in the SRM driver. Also we expects that this method reduce micro-controller load and realize approximated real time control
