Field Uniformity Analysis of Reverberation Chamber with Asymmetric Structure (비대칭적 구조 전자파 잔향실 전자기장 균일도 해석)

  • Conventional reverberation chamber has a rectangular structure including mode stirrers or mode-turned stirrers to obtain the field uniformity inside the chamber. This paper explained the way to improve the field uniformity in an asymmetric structure instead of conventional rectangular structure with right-angled planes. Two types of asymmetric structure were considered. One was an asymmetric reverberation chamber using Quadratic Residue Diffuser and the other was an asymmetric chamber with oblique enclosure including fixed Randomly Made Diffusers. The FDTD simulation method was used to analyze the field homogeneous characteristics of these asymmetric reverberation chambers.

Therefore, the asymmetric field be leave out of consideration wedge factor because of with used wedge for the most of part. These experimentation find out have an effect on the dosimetry of out put compared with of the difference between the symmetric field and asymmetic field for the wedge factor.

  • Dosimetric measurement of an asymmetric collimator system was performed, using water phantom system for 4MV X-ray linear accelerator. We have studied the system of dose calculation with those measured result. We compared the field size factor and the percent depth dose for asymmetric collimator to those factor for symmetric fields. The results show that we can use symmetric field data directly within 1% error, if we consider the off axis ratio(OAR).

  • 본 연구에서는 asymmetric과 symmetric MOSFET 소자의 drain breakdown 및 snapback 특성을 분석하였다. 실험에서는 두 MOSFET 소자의 동작 영역에서 게이트와 드레인에 각각 전압을 인가하였다. 드레인 전류-전압 곡선으로 부터 drain breakdown 전압과 snapback 전압을 추출하였다. 결과 avalanche breakdown 발생 전의 드레인 전류는 asymmetric 구조의 경우 더 작은 값을 보였으며 이는 asymmetric 구조에서의 drain field 가 더 낮기 때문이다. 따라서 impact ionization은 asymmetric 구조에서 덜 발생하며, snapback 전압은 avalanche breakdown voltage가 작은 asymmetric 구조에서 크게 나타났다.

  • The simultaneous suppression of sidelobes and the sharpening of the central peak in the process of diffraction pattern detection based on asymmetric apodization have been investigated. Asymmetric apodization is applied to a semicircular array of two-dimensional (2D) aperture functions, which is a series of 'coded-phase arrays of semicircular rings randomly distributed over the central circular region of a pupil function' and is similar to that used in the field of diffractive optics. The point spread function (PSF) of an imaging system with asymmetric apodization of the discrete type has been found to possess a good side with suppressed sidelobes, whereas its bad side contains enhanced sidelobes. Further, the diffracted field characteristics are obtained in the presence of these aperture functions. Asymmetric apodization is helpful in improving the performance of the optical gratings or 2D arrays used in real-time imaging techniques.

  • The use of amorphous magnetic alloys as tags or targets in electronic article surveillance systems such as antishoplifting desvices is briefly reviewed. Improved tags became possible with the discovery in 1988 of asymmetric magnetization reversal (AMR) in certain amorphous alloys annealed in applied field approximately equal to the earth's field. These asymmetric hysteresis loops are highly unusual, if not unique, and so greatly diminish the probability of false alarms in a detection system. furthermore, the jump field Hj, which is the coercive field in negative applied fields, can be controlled over a useful range by controlling the field applied to the sample during annealing. By applying several tags to an object, each with a different jump field, it is possible to identify the object with a numeric code that can be remotely read by nonoptical means.

Calculating Sea Surface Wind by Considering Asymmetric Typhoon Wind Field (비대칭형 태풍 특성을 고려한 해상풍 산정)

  • Sea surface wind is an important variable for elucidating the atmospheric-ocean interactions and predicting the dangerous weather conditions caused by oceans. Accurate sea surface wind data are required for making correct predictions; however, there are limited observational datasets for oceans. Therefore, this study aimed to obtain long-period high-resolution sea surface wind data. First, the ERA5 reanalysis wind field, which can be used for a long period at a high resolution, was regridded and synthesized using the asymmetric typhoon wind field calculated via the Generalized Asymmetric Holland Model of the numerical model named ADvanced CIRCulation model. The accuracy of the asymmetric typhoon synthesized wind field was evaluated using data obtained from Korea Meteorological Administration and Japan Meteorological Administration. As a result of the evaluation, it was found that the asymmetric typhoon synthetic wind field reproduce observations relatively well, compared with ERA5 reanalysis wind field and symmetric typhoon synthetic wind field calculated by the Holland model. The sea surface wind data produced in this study are expected to be useful for obtaining storm surge data and conducting frequency analysis of storm surges and sea surface winds in the future.

Effect of P-Emitter Length and Structure on Asymmetric SiC MOSFET Performance (P-Emitter의 길이, 구조가 Asymmetric SiC MOSFET 소자 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • In this letter, we propose and analyze a new asymmetric structure that can be used for next-generation power semiconductor devices. We compare and analyze the electrical characteristics of the proposed device with respect to those of symmetric devices. The proposed device has a p-emitter on the right side of the cell. The peak electric field is reduced by the shielding effect caused by the p-emitter structure. Consequently, the breakdown voltage is increased. The proposed asymmetric structure has an approximately 100% higher Baliga's figure of merit (~94.22 MW/㎠) than the symmetric structure (~46.93 MW/㎠), and the breakdown voltage of the device increases by approximately 70%.

  • Generally, the system of calculation for the multi-path ultrasonic flow meters can be divided into two methods by how to get the mean velocity, namely, weighting and direct method. Weighting-method derive the mean velocity through modeling in theoretical velocity profile. Direct-method derive the mean velocity though actual flow distribution. The system of calculation varies with maker's transducer configuration and integration method. Each system has merits and demerits. This paper describes the system of integration that calculates line velocity over cross-section of the circular pipe. Flow rate mr discussed in this paper is a difference between theoretical flow rate and integrated flow rate according to values of Reynolds number in symmetric flow field or theoretical flow rate and integrated flow rate according to rotated model in asymmetric flow field.

  • This paper describes the corona characteristics of conductor bundle for EHV transmission line. To reduce the corona noise, the asymmetric conductor bundle to minimize the electric field of the conductor surface is proposed. The charge simulation method is used to formulate the electric field of conductor surface and the optimal arrangement of subconductor to minimize it is selected to apply the nonlinear successive quadratic programming. Through the analytical comparison and the corona cage test, it is proved that the asymmetric conductor bundle proposed in this paper can reduce the average maximum electric field of the phase conductors and the corona noise more than the conventional symmetric conductor bundle and asymmetric conductor bundle by GE.
