  • This article explores some of the ethical issues associated with the fourth industrial revolution and suggests new directions for bioethics education in Korean universities. Some countries have recently developed guidelines and regulations based on the legal and ethical considerations of the benefits and social risks of new technologies associated with the fourth industrial revolution. Foreign universities have also created courses (both classroom and online) that deal with these issues and help to ensure that these new technologies are developed in an ethically appropriate fashion. In South Korea too there have been attempts to enhance bioethics education to meet the changing demands of society. However, bioethics education in Korea remains focused on traditional bioethical topics and largely neglects the ethical issues related to emerging technologies. Furthermore, Korean universities offer no online courses in bioethics and the classroom courses that do exist are generally treated as electives. In order to improve bioethics education in Korean universities, we suggest that (a) new course should be developed for interprofessional education; (b) courses in bioethics should be treated as required subjects gradually; (c) online courses should be prepared, and (d) universities should continually revise course contents in response to the development of new technologies.

  • With the help of some techniques based upon certain inverse pairs of symbolic operators initiated by Burchnall-Chaundy, the authors investigate decomposition formulas associated with Saran's function $F_E$ in three variables. Many operator identities involving these pairs of symbolic operators are first constructed for this purpose. By employing their decomposition formulas, we also present a new group of integral representations for the Saran function $F_E$.

  • The recent advent of next-generation sequencing technologies has dramatically changed the nature of biomedical research. Human genetics is no exception-it has never been easier to interrogate human patient genomes at the nucleotide level to identify disease-associated variants. To further facilitate the efficiency of this approach, whole exome sequencing (WES) was first developed in 2009. Over the past three years, multiple groups have demonstrated the power of WES through robust disease-associated variant discoveries across a diverse spectrum of human diseases. Here, we review the application of WES to different types of inherited human diseases and discuss analytical challenges and possible solutions, with the aim of providing a practical guide for the effective use of this technology.

  • The insatiable desire of consumers to want more and more performance from computer equipment has driven the powers of this equipment to levels that are putting a strain on the thermal management of data centers housing this equipment. Equipment powers have been rising steadily over the past 10 years at a rapid rate. When the industry switched from bipolar to CMOS back in the early 90's industry experts had thought that the low power CMOS technology would resolve all problems associated with power and heat. Little did they know that now the problems associated with the CMOS equipment has surpassed anything installed with the bipolar technologies 10 to 15 years ago. Data centers are being designed with 15 to 20 years life spans and customers we asking how to plan for the power and cooling within these data centers. This paper addresses some of the current issues with cooling of equipment in data centers and describes some of the on-going efforts to under the thermal environment. To set the stage far describing the data center thermal management issues the power trends from the microprocessor to the rack will be described.

  • By using the generalized operator method given by Burchnall and Chaundy in 1940, the authors present one-dimensional inverse pairs of symbolic operators. Many operator identities involving these pairs of symbolic operators are rst constructed. By means of these operator identities, 11 decomposition formulas for the generalized hypergeometric $_4F_3$ function are then given. Furthermore, the integral representations associated with generalized hypergeometric functions are also presented.

  • Nanotechnology for cancer therapy is playing a pivotal role in dramatically improving current approaches to cancer detection, diagnosis, and therapy while reducing toxic side effects associated with previous cancer therapy. A widespread understanding of these new technologies will lead to develop the more refined design of optimized nanoparticles with improved selectivity, efficacy and safety in the clinical practice of oncology. This review provides an integrated overview of applications and advances of nanotechnology in cancer therapy, based on molecular diagnostics, treatment, monitoring, target drug delivery, approved nanoparticle-based chemotherapeutic agents, and current clinical trials in the development of nanomedicine and ultimately personalized medicine.

  • In recent years, the world development of alternative construction materials is associated with disposal problems of waste materials as a result of industrial activities. Technologies of refining gypsum to several gypsum modifications ($\alpha$ and $\beta$-hemihydrate) which can be used as construction material in a large scale do actually exist or are under development. This paper provides a technical and economic perspective of the waste gypsum treatment. Especially, several applications particularly of $\alpha$-hemihydrate will be presented, e.g. artificial gypsum aggregate and light-weight masonry units.

  • Electrochemical energy-storage devices such as batteries and supercapacitors are important components in emerging portable electronic device, electric vehicle, and clean energy storage and supply technologies. This review describes recent progress in the development of nanostructured electrodes, the main component of the electrochemical energy-storage device, prepared by layer-by-layer (LbL) electrostatic assembly. Major advantages associated with, and challenges to, the fabrication of LbL electrodes, as well as the future outlook for expanding the application of LbL techniques, are discussed.

  • In recent years, significant advances in computers and communication technologies have made multimedia services feasible. As a result, various queuing models and cost models on architecture and data placement for multimedia server have been proposed. However, these analytical techniques use only probabilistic models to represent the behavior of a system, and then they have several limitations like accuracy. Simulation is a viable alternative to analytical model. It avoids many of the limitations associated with analytical techniques, allowing for more precise representation of system attributes like workload in program code. In this paper, we propose a simulation test bed that can evaluate performance of real-time multimedia server by using simulation model.
