Purpose:The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between mothers' oral health knowledge level and oral health behavior and their children,s oral health behavior. Methods:The subjects in this study were 980 mothers and their children of fourth grade, fifth grade and sixth grade in an elementary school in Daegu city, Korea. The data were collected by a structured questionnaire from 26 June to 30 June, 2006. Collected data were analyzed into frequency, One-Way ANOVA, T-test, and correlation analysis using SPSS 10.0 program. Results:First, the mothers, oral health knowledge was significantly associated with their children,s perception of benefit, seriousness and barrier. Second, the mothers, oral health behavior was significantly associated with their children,s frequency of toothbrushing and visiting at dental care facility. Third, the mothers, toothbrushing frequency was significantly associated with their children,s toothbrushing frequency. Fourth, the mother's visiting at dental care facility were significantly associated with their children's visiting at dental care facility. Conclusion:The mothers, oral health knowledge was significantly associated with oral health belief of their children and the mothers, oral health behavior was significantly associated with oral health behavior of their children. Consequently it was necessary to encourage mothers and their children to take part in oral health education programs and oral health projects.
The principal objective of this study was to determine the effects of mothers' nutrition knowledge on preschoolers' obesity and dietary habits. The subject population included 456 mothers and their preschoolers, aged 3 to 5 years, who were enrolling in kindergartens located in Seoul and KyongGi-Do, Korea. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The majority of mothers responded correctly to those questions concerning obesity-related nutritional knowledge, but responded incorrectly to questions regarding basic nutritional knowledge. 2. The mothers' nutritional knowledge was associated significantly with the mother's age (p<0.05) and degree of education (p<0.05). 3. The mothers' nutritional knowledge was significantly and negatively correlated with their obesity, but not with their preschoolers' obesity. 4. Mothers' nutritional knowledge was determined to be positively associated with higher interest in nutritional information and food selection in regard to weight management strategies for their kids. 5. In general, preschoolers whose mother had excellent nutrition knowledge evidenced better dietary habits than preschoolers whose mothers had poor nutrition knowledge. In particular, one question regarding serving size was significantly associated with mothers' general level of nutritional knowledge(p<0.05).
This study of variables associated with maternal monitoring of child's whereabouts and daily activities was conducted with 1500 children (8 and 13 years of age) and their mothers. They responded to questionnaires on monitoring knowledge, sources of maternal information (maternal solicitation and/or child disclosure), and demographic variables. Data were analyzed by Pearson's r, ANOVA, and regression analysis. Mothers' knowledge of her child's activities and whereabouts and the sources of her knowledge were associated with mothers' higher level of education. Child's age was related to mother's knowledge and maternal solicitation. Maternal solicitation and child's age were highly predictive of mothers' knowledge of her child's whereabouts and activities. Results of this study may have applications for parental supervision and child rearing attitudes.
Identification of associated knowledge based on content relevance is a fundamental functionality in managing service and security of core knowledge. This study compares the performance of methods to identify associated knowledge based on content relevance, i.e., the associated document network composition performance of keyword-based and word-embedding approach, to examine which method exhibits superior performance in terms of quantitative and qualitative perspectives. As a result, the keyword-based approach showed superior performance in core document identification and semantic information representation, while the word embedding approach showed superior performance in F1-Score and Accuracy, association intensity representation, and large-volume document processing. This study can be utilized for more realistic associated knowledge service management, reflecting the needs of companies and users.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of education about pressure ulcer classification and incontinence-associated dermatitis on knowledge and self-efficacy in pressure ulcer among nurses. Methods: One group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were 41 nurses in a tertiary hospital in Seoul. A 90 minutes lecture was delivered. The self-reported-questionnaire on knowledge and self-efficacy and photograph test for knowledge were done at pre- and post-education. Results: After education, there was significant increase in the score of knowledge measured by questionnaire (mean 1.76, p<.001), in the score of knowledge measured by photographs (mean 2.00, p<.001) and in the score of self-efficacy (mean 5.17, p<.001). Conclusion: This study showed that knowledge and self-efficacy in pressure ulcer were improved by the education about pressure ulcer classification and incontinence-associated dermatitis. This program may be used for enhancing nurses' abilities of caring pressure ulcer.

Employing a sample of 126 suppliers in Korean electronic industry, this research examined the effects of institutional environment, social capital and strategic importance in manufacturer-supplier relationships on knowledge sharing. Building on the relational view and knowledge-based theories, this study proposed that these factors facilitate knowledge sharing in manufacturer-supplier relationships and that knowledge mediates satisfaction between manufacturer-supplier relationships for competitive advantage. Results indicate that institutional environment, social capital and strategic importance in manufacturer-supplier relationships are indeed associated with greater knowledge sharing. Inter-firm satisfaction is, in turn, positively associated with knowledge sharing for competitive advantage through technical support, financial support, competence increasing. Further, results provide evidence that knowledge sharing plays a mediating role between institutional environment, social capital, strategic importance and inter-firm satisfaction.
This paper attempts to delineate and analyze the relationship between organizational search activities and organizational ambidexterity. A growing number of studies confirm that organizational ambidexterity is important for firm survival and long-term prosperity. However, research on how to achieve ambidexterity is still limited. To date, structural separation, contextul ambidexterity, and top management team attributes are proposed and examined as major antecedents of organizational ambidexterity. In this paper, I argue that orgnizational search may influence ambidexterity through its effect on exxploratory innovation and exploitative innovation. Since little study has been paid to uncover the relationship between knowledge search and ambidexterity, I develop theoretical arguments and propose some propositions rather than examine hypotheses. The propositions developed in the study are as follows; P1: The breadth of internal search is positively associated with exploratory innovation; P2: The breadth of external search has a reverse U-shaped relationship with exploratory innovation; P3: The depth of internal search is positively associated with exploitative innovation; P4: The depth of external search has a reverse U-shaped relationship with exploitative innovation; P5: The interaction between internal search breadth and internal search depth is positively associated with organizational ambidexterity; P6: The interaction between external search breadth and external search depth is positively associated with organizational ambidexterity. Based on the above propositions, I suggest some considerations for empirical research and propose avenues for future research.
This study aims at empirically analyzing the relation between employees' personality and their knowledge sharing intentions, on which enough light has not yet been shed in spite of its importance. By integrating the big five model of personality with social capital theory and social cognitive theory, this study develops six hypotheses concerning the relation and empirically tests them by using 724 samples collected from employees in practice. The empirical analysis results from this study reveal that employees' extroversion and agreeableness are positively associated with their social relations and that their openness to experience and conscientiousness are positively associated with their knowledge self-efficacy, which are positively related to their knowledge sharing intentions. Based on the new findings, theoretical and practical implications are provided for knowledge management researchers and managers in practice.
A knowledge map should be able to support the referential navigation of knowledge inquiries, i.e., cross- and sequential searches and queries on content relevance-based associated knowledge. This study performs a user-oriented test to verify which type of knowledge map, hierarchical or networked, exhibits superior performance in supporting knowledge inquiries required for problem solving. Both the effectiveness identified by the correct answer rate and the efficiency identified by the number of completion time and reference documents have been revealed superior performance in the networked knowledge map. This study's result can underpin the basic steps to develop more user-friendly and reasonable knowledge services.

Objectives: Influenza is a significant worldwide public health issue. Knowledge and perceptions regarding the flu vaccination are associated with whether individuals obtain the vaccination. The purpose of this study was to examine how such perceptions were related to knowledge and self-efficacy regarding influenza and the flu vaccination in Vietnam and the US. Methods: College students (n=932) in Vietnam (n=495) and the US (n=437) completed a self-administered survey regarding knowledge and perceptions of influenza vaccinations in September and October 2016. Results: Vietnamese participants reported significantly lower levels of awareness about flu risk, higher levels of negative attitudes toward flu vaccination, lower levels of knowledge about the flu and vaccination, and lower levels of self-efficacy than US participants. Higher levels of flu and flu vaccination knowledge and self-efficacy regarding general responsible health practices were associated with lower levels of negative perceptions of flu risk and attitudes toward vaccination. At the same time, self-efficacy regarding responsible health practices was associated with higher levels of awareness of flu risk and lower levels of negative attitudes toward vaccination. Self-efficacy regarding exercise was associated with lower levels of perceptions of flu risk and higher levels of negative attitudes toward vaccination. Conclusions: Vietnam could benefit from influenza education based on this comparison with the US. In both countries, knowledge and self-efficacy were found to be important factors influencing perceptions of influenza risk and vaccination.
