  • This article reviews the recent progress in nanowell array biosensors that use the label-free detection protocol, and are detected in their natural forms. These nanowell array biosensors are fabricated by nanofabrication technologies that should be useful for developing highly sensitive and selective also reproducible biosensors. Moreover, electrochemical method was selected as analysis method that has high sensitivity compared with other analysis. Finally, highly sensitive nanobiosensor was achieved by combining nanofabrication technologies and classical electrochemical method. Many examples are mentioned about the sensing performance of nanowell array biosensors will be evaluated in terms of sensitivity and detection limit compared with other micro-sized electrode without nanowell array.

  • The method of designing microstrip array antenna for low sidelobe level and narrow beam-width using Dolph-Chebyshev array is presented. The widths of microstrip antenna corresponding to excitation coefficients obtained by Dolph-Chebyshev array polynomials is decided by calculating radiation resistance using cavity model analysis. The cascaded array microstrip antenna composed of 10-elements with resonant frequency to be 9.43[GHz] is fabricated by using design method presented in this paper. The experimental results of relatively good characteristics show that its gain, sidelobe level and beam-width are 9[dB], -22[dB] and 8.7[$^{\circ}$].

  • Photovoltaic(PV) array, which is generally installed outside, has the possibility to be damaged by high voltage due to lightning. Because the electrical characteristics of PV array have not been fully identified by lightning yet, there is a very important issue whether PV array should be connected with ground or not. In this paper, a basic model of PV array is provided considering the PV cell's barrier capacitance and ground capacitance for analysis of electrical characteristics by lightning using PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • This Paper Presents development of solar may shunt switching unit with a fully regulated Power regulation for Geostationary Earth Orbit(GEO) satellite. This shunt switching unit comprises the solar may shunt modules that regulate the solar array power. These solar array shunt modules connect/disconnect the solar array segments to/from the bus through switching actions. And that is also possible simply extension to an existing design by FPGA control logic changing. In order to verify the proposed design, the control logic and worst case analysis are analyzed and the simulation and experimental results we shown.

  • A multichannel optical detector system employing a self-scanning linear photodiode array has been developed. The photodiode array detector system is designed for various applications which require fast, multichannel detection of transient signals. The detector system consists of a controller which runs on an IBM personal computer and a detector head connected to the controller through a DB-15 cable. The entire scanning of 1024 detector elements is achieved in 20 ms. By using an on-board 16-bit counter/timer, the operational mode of the photodiode array detector is fully programmable by software. The design considerations and the performance of the photodiode array detector system is presented.

  • As a device for taste sensation, an 8-channel taste evaluation system was prepared and applied for discriminant analysis of marketed liquor. The biomimetic polymer membranes for the system were prepared through a casting procedure by employing polyvinyl chloride, bis (2-ethylhexyl)sebacate as plasticizer and electroactive materials such as valinomycin in the ratio of 33:66:1, and were separately attached over the sensitive area of ion-selective electrodes to construct the corresponding taste sensor array. The sensor array in conjunction with a double junction reference electrode was connected to a high-input impedance amplifier and the amplified sensor signals were interfaced to a personal computer via an A/D converter. When the signal data from the sensor array for 3 groups of marketed liquor like Maesilju, Soju and beer were analyzed by principal component analysis after normalization, it was observed that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd principal component were responsible for most of the total data variance, and the analyzed liquor samples were discriminated well in 2 dimensional principal component planes composed of the 1st-2nd and the 1st-3rd principal component.

  • A solar array is main electrical energy source for Low-Earth-Orbit(LEO) satellite. The solar array cannot generate electrical energy during eclipse period, a battery supply electrical energy to the satellite. The electrical power of the solar array is changed in accordance with operating voltage and the solar array has the maximum power point. The solar array regulator makes the solar array supply electrical energy to the satellite and charge the battery. The solar array is connected to the solar array regulator input and the battery is connected to the solar array regulator output. The solar array regulator consists 2 of 3 hot redundant. One solar array regulator contains 3 DC-DC converters, and the solar array regulator operates stably even if the failure occur in one DC-DC converter. In this paper, the solar array regulator, the battery and the solar array operation is analyzed when the failure occur in one DC-DC converter.

  • In this paper, we propose a new array antenna scheme which has an improved side lobe level (SLL) as well as a simplified feeding network and a high gain. The proposed array scheme is based on a non-uniformly excited sub-array. For analysis, we use an array factor of sub-array antenna. In the simulation results, the simulated SLL and gain provide more than 18.43 dB and 26.63 dBi, respectively. For the verification of the proposed design scheme, the prototype antenna with $16{\times}8$ radiating elements was designed by the proposed array scheme. The measured SLL and gain are more than 19.85 dB and 25.53 dBi, respectively. This measurement result indicates that the proposed array scheme is reasonable.
