  • The target of design is a harmony between Beauty and Usefulness. Design is a result from representation of visual language by designer's creative thinking system. also, As an ill-defined problem cannot be described completely. and subjectively interpret depend on the situation, it is very difficult to present a theoretical standard. There have been many Design Sciences researches in recent years. such as Rule Based Design, Parametric Design, Replacement Design, Analogy Design, Metaphor Design, Genetic Algorithm. but Objective research is still unsatisfactory condition to investigate true nature about Design. At this point, It is very important to formulating about meaning of Design Language and Thinking. This study will define about that, and based on this definition, Lay out a logical basis for Treatment design variable and materialization of process by "Elements", "Relationship", "Schema". ultimately it look forward to provide a framework and minimize the complexity about Design Thinking.

  • Philippe Starck is a famous french designer known for his creative works in all aspects of life from architectural space to product design. Especially, in regard to furniture, he designed more than 250 works with various design characteristics. This study therefore aims to examinate the characteristics of furniture designed by Philippe Starck through assessment of his design background and philosophy, evaluation of fifty or so of his works in terms of their function, form, material, and emotions, and lastly through a chronological analysis. As a result from this study, following various results are drawn as design characteristic through forty six representative cases: 1) possibility of fabrication and transformation 2) multi-function or optional function for user 3) pursuit of simplicity using the characteristic of singular material or mono block and immateriality 4) emotional approach in design 5) non-design method such as use of archetype or historical form.

  • The problem of energy consumption is more serious in university buildings than primary, middle and high school buildings. Because university buildings have generally heating and cooling systems, and various incidental facilities. In university, the library is one of the building that many people use and the most energy is spent. So, investigation on energy saving is very important and urgent. This study aims finally to present the guideline for low-energy design of University library by aiding a designer to select best solution in the side of energy-saving. In this paper, composition of space, utilization schedule and performance of construction materials are grasped, some primary factors that effect to energy saving are analyzed by energy simulation. The result of this study is as follows; First, the subject library has more cooling load than heating load because of cooling load generated during middle season. Second, green roofs is the most effective to heating load saving, but not to cooling energy. Third, outdoor air cooling is the most effective to cooling energy saving among the investigated strategies included in this study.

  • A design process is difficult to describe comprehensively because a design problem has a multi-disciplinary nature and the design itself evolves as solutions are attempted by the designer. The process of design has been investigated in this paper with the purpose of characterizing the role that a system of this kind may have. In defining the system, an approach has been used that privileges the relationships with the existing CAD tools based on data exchange standards in course of definition today. Integrated design environment normally consists of a centralized data model a data management system and a set of CAD tools. In this study, all further investigations are directed towards the data management system, as one of the main components of the proposed environment. Moreover, product modeling, as a prerequisite for the data management core, is taken into special consideration.

  • High-rise residential buildings in these days tend to adopt a building frame system as primary earthquake resisting structural system for some architectural reasons. But there exist several ambiguities in designing such building frame systems according to current codes, with regards to : the effective stiffness property of RC cracked section in static and dynamic analyses, analytical model to evaluate story drift ratio and, deformation compatibility requirements of frames. The comparative study for these issues by appling IBC 2000 and KBC 2005 to a typical building frame system shows that demands of member strength and story drift ratio can be different significantly depending on designer's interpretation and application of code requirements.

  • Creativity is an ever-increasing research area related to fashion design, namely the documentation and dissemination of creative scholarship. The purpose of this project is to apply creative bridge or creative leap theory to the development of an existing designer's garment collection using the creative design process of an architect. A single case study design was used to investigate the phenomenon of design process creative leap using a direct observation. Results indicate the difficult challenge of producing new and individualized silhouettes for the marketability of clothing, it is apparent that new methods of fostering creativity in designers through non-traditional approaches would benefit the education of apparel designers. Through targeted design practice, educators and practitioners can apply the principles of scientific inquiry into design processes to solve a problem, address a challenge, or create based on personal inspirations.

  • Since the safety accidents on the construction sites take large part of total industry disasters, research on the construction safety has been getting important. Recently, as BIM technology allows cooperation between designer and constructor groups, it becomes more active worldwide than before to study on the ways of accomplish construction safety improvement in the design phase. In this paper, we suggested a checklist for assuring construction safety in the phase of design, and performed automatic evaluation by using a BIM quality checking tool. This shows that it is possible for us to find out the construction safety has been improved in the design phase. Once the standard checklist and assurance process are developed, they are expected to play a great role of reducing disasters in the construction industry.

  • The importance of Building Remodeling as a means to create an architectural environment capable of responding to the social, economic changes has increased more than ever. And it has become necessary to consider Environmental performance in Building remodeling. Consideration of converting buildings into Environment-Friendly Remodeling of Office Buildings makes more and more increased in our construction compatibility. This Study is intended to increase the designer' recognition of Environmental Performance Improvement in the feasibility analysis and schematic design of Office Building Remodeling and to provide Planning Data and Guidance. In this context, this study is focused on the "planning Guidance for Environmental Friendly Remodeling". Through this study, the flow of Environmental Design and Construction is elevated reaching the level in developed country.

  • God, existing in the Tabernacle was designed not by man but was designed by Him Personally. The LORD said to Moses..... 'Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you(Exodus25:1-9). These words represent the Godly Origin of the Tabernacle. He referred to it as'A copy and shadow of what is in heaven' (Hebrews8:5) , Furthermore, The Tabernacle, a copy and shadow of what is in heaven, used in the Old Times, was his body(John2:21). Therefore The Lord is the true designer of the Tabernacle(Exodus25:8-9), and is where He dwells(Exodus29:46), and is where the sinful man meets the Lord(Exodus30:6). It is where the Lord dwells(Exodus29:46) and where Forgiving takes place(Leviticus4:20,26,31). Because of this, The Tabernacle is the most important out of any piece of architecture designed by man.

  • As architects and interior designers work farther and farther afield, so the connection of buildings to the particular place they are constructed becomes increasingly. Also, during the past twenty years they have made a habit of asking probing and often uncomfortable questions about how architectural conventions force patterns of behavior. In place of bricks and mortar, they have mixed store, office, clinic, and residence. In this project, the buildings consist of pharmacy, store, dental clinic, oriental clinic and residence. This building was designed by architect to have panoramic views. The view of surrounding road from every wall becomes a constant point of reference, a back drop against which the whole house revolves. Now, all the words can be suitable for describing the oriental clinics. But the oriental clinics of these days may construct the unintentional common image, may be because of the clients sense about the finishing materials or colors in vogue. The Importance of identity in the design of oriental clinic becomes higher increasingly, and with the same reason, the conviction of interior designer.
