기획특집 - BIM기술 도입 및 단계별 발전 전략 (A strategy for the Introduction and Development of BIM Technology in the Construction Industry)

  • BIM technology has been introduced in various fields of the construction industry recently. The owners of the public construction projects are already interested in BIM technology and they started to apply BIM technology in their projects. This paper introduces the successful BIM cases of overseas and domestics projects and shows how to introduce and apply BIM technology in the architectural design firms and construction companies and how to train their engineers with BIM technology.

Data-driven Value-enhancing Strategies: How to Increase Firm Value Using Data Science

  • This paper proposes how to design and implement data-driven strategies by investigating how a firm can increase its value using data science. Drawing on prior studies on architectural innovation, a behavioral theory of the firm, and the knowledge-based view of the firm as well as the analysis of field observations, the paper shows how data science is abused in dealing with meso-level data while it is underused in using macro-level and alternative data to accomplish machine-human teaming and risk management. The implications help us understand why some firms are better at drawing value from intangibles such as data, data-science capabilities, and routines and how to evaluate such capabilities.

공동주거단지 주동계획 요소에 관한 연구 (An Analysis on the Methods of Block Design Elements and their Trends in the Apartment Housing Design Competitions of Sejong City)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 행정중심도시 현상설계안들을 통해 최근에 적용된 다양한 주동 계획 요소들을 분석해 보는 것이다. 이러한 분석을 통해 우리나라 주거단지에 적용되고 있는 다양한 설계 기법과 최근의 설계 동향을 파악해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 왜냐하면 행정중심도시가 비교적 최근에 실시된 주거단지 현상 설계이며, 우리나라의 주요 설계사무소와 건설 회사들이 참여하였기 때문이다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. : (1) 판상형 주동은 8가지 유형(ㄱ자형 주동이 가장 많이 적용됨)으로 탑상형 주동은 9가지 유형(일자형, L자형, ㅁ자형 주동이 가장 많이 적용됨)으로 분류되었다. (2) 코어 형태는 대응형이 6가지 유형으로 병렬형이 3가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 두 유형 모두 필로티와 연계된 유형들이 가장 많이 적용된 것으로 나타났다. (3) 지붕 형식은 4가지 유형으로 구분되었는데, 평지붕이 전체 단지의 95%에서 적용된 것으로 나타났다. (4) 주동 매스 형식은 5가지 유형으로(일반형과 보이드형이 가장 많이 적용됨) 분류되었으며 입면 구성은 3가지 유형으로(수평분할형이 가장 많이 적용됨) 분류되었다.

창호철물공사 하자발생 원인과 시공품질 영향분석에 관한 연구 - 문(Door)에 사용되는 창호철물 중심으로 - (Analysis of the Causes of Defects in Fenestration Construction and Their Impacts on Construction Quality - Focused on Door Hardware -)

  • 본 연구에서는 창호철물 공사의 하자발생 원인을 제도(System), 설계, 시공 3가지 측면에서 제도 미비(공사시방서 작성능력 부족등), 창호철물의 중요성에 대한 사회적 인식부족, 설계도면 작성 기술력 부족, 설계비 저가등 7가지를 도출하였다. 도출된 7가지 원인 중 창호철물 공사의 하자 발생에 높은 영향을 미치는 원인은 제도 미비(공사시방서 작성능력 부족), 설계도면 작성 기술력 부족이 각각 1순위, 2순위로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 하자발생 원인이 실제 프로젝트에서 건축사사무소와 시공사의 규모에 따라 어떻게 분포하는지와 시공품질에 미치는 영향을 분석 제시함으로써 향후 창호철물공사 하자방지 방안 마련을 위한 기초 연구를 수행하였다.

실내건축 실시설계도면 작성방법 연구 (The Study of Working Drawing Method in Interior Architecture)

  • Now interior designers have to meet this challenge by rising to the occasion and taking advantage of opportunities while strengthening their skills which have not kept pace with the increasing emphasis on design. furthermore, they are hampered by the lack of a general working design methodology. Interior designers in Korea have been slow to recognize the need for developing a specification methodology manual which could be adapted to meet varying requirements and modified to reflect designers experiences. The design process in Korean interior design often involves utilizing drawing document methods based on architectural prototypes rather than upon drawing methods developed by design firms as a result of work experience s and unique needs. However, these unique nees are nearly always limited by traditional working drawing methods. This has led to confusion and inaccuracies due to the lack of a single starndardized and universally acceptable working drawing methodology which is capable of reflecting the needs of all parties involved , partiality those of interior designers. This thesis is an attmepted to establish the necessity for developing a better working drawing methodogoy or technical mans of satisfying the information sorting and processing need s of interior design professionals, a five step suggestion for developing such a methodology follows. First, arrange pertinent design research information by means of a process which can be employed throughout the design process, from inception through to working drawing stage. The end result should be an interior architectural design process culminating in a pattern skillfully blending architecture, vision and product with environment . The design process should be manifested into a series of definable steps and yet sufficiently flexible and variable in order to provide the most apropos design solution. Secondly , motify the design methodology systematically according to site conditions and prevailing construction technology and manifest the design process in a booklet form so that it reflects a desired pattern. Thirdly, this methodology should incorporate a stand-ardized and functional process capable of being utilized to impact clear design concepts and objectives with preci-sion and efficiency in a manual form.

  • This paper is to explore examples of complementary use of digital and physical models. The reason for this is to suggest a method for commercializing architectural design considering high technology. These cases are the practical and educational environment in which design processes based on digital computation technology are performed. Also, in this environment, analog design media (eg, physical models) still being used in the design process using digital computing. Indeed, in this environment, designers are exploiting digital and physical models to address the types of risks that can be discovered when designs are implemented and these risks. By analyzing these cases, we define the roles of digital and physical models to visualize and resolve risks. This paper focuses on one of method as "prototyping", which is used in the field of machinery and is a difficult method to carry out in the conventional design process. In particular, designers look for benefits that encourage designers in utilizing current digital computation technologies (eg, parametric design, simulation, building information models, and digital fabrication). Among the roles of the physical model, roles that can not be replaced by the digital model are explored. It is clear that this case-based study has difficulty in generalizing the design method. However, it helps the designers of today's practical and educational environment to verify and design the actual details of construction and operation when applying and developing unfamiliar materials and methods in the field of architecture.

Development of Initial Design Stage Guidelines for nearly Zero Energy Offices : A Central-Climate Zone of Korea Case Study

  • This study aimed to develop a design manual to be used during the initial stage of the nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) design process. Recently, with the increased demand for nZEBs, there are many architects and architectural firms who are becoming interested in nZEB design. However, since the nZEB design process requires a different approach to the conventional building design process, architects have difficulties with application of the nZEB design process in their projects. Therefore, a design manual which can be used in the nZEB design process was developed in this study. Based on an intensive literature review, energy-saving strategies and their performance levels, which affect heating and cooling energy consumptions were established for a reference building. To analyze the sensitivity of each energy strategy to the overall performance, computer simulations using EnergyPlus were performed. At the same time, an Analysis of Variance assessment was conducted to estimate the relative importance of each energy factor. The energy sensitivity and priority of the energy factors was developed into a set of design guidelines.

BIM기반 통합설계프로세스의 국내 적용 가능성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Adaptability of BIM-based Integrated Building Design Process in Domestic Architectural Design Firms)

  • As AEC(architecture, engineering and construction) industry becomes larger and more complex, much information is going into each part and phase. Therefore, the existing building design process has to change and collaboration is emphasized among participants in various fields. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze existing building design process and integrated building design process based on BIM using a IDEF0 methodology. And then, it establishes a desirable domestic integrated building design process application plan focusing on the design phase of domestic cases. As a result of analysis, flowing conclusions are included ; Firstly, problems occur on the existing building design process that are accomplished with focusing on the outcome. It makes much errors because of 2D-based information. Another problems is that collaboration doesn't go on smoothly. But, integrated building design process is accomplished with the collaboration and the coordination which pursues change and perfects cooperation. Secondly, BIM is a process of effecting optimum integrating, re-using information, and expense reduction throughout the life-cycle of a building. Moreover, it establishes a basis for the integrated building design process to build a collaboration system.

  • In this study, neighborhood facility and office building to target two cases were performed BIM process. In the initial design phase of the planning process was conducted for the BIM process modeling, BIM in the design stage while performing the required range and level of the process were studied. Accordingly, from architectural firms to leverage BIM process, the proposed methods, efficient use of the modeling process proposed. Quality management information and input for the modeling and design process should be determined from the initial design and construction, including, for each field should be considered BIM, which require an appropriate range of information, according to these requirements, BIM creation and expansion of the level of information should be clearly defined. Perform the procedure for BIM in the process of communicating with stakeholders is critical. In addition, the input data and output data needed to perform management and to perform at the level obtained BIM design process and the model should be clear.

설계 및 CM업체 종사자의 직업 만족도 분석 (Analyzing of Job Satisfaction on the Designer/Construction Manager)

  • 본 연구는 향후 설계 및 CM분야에 대한 이미지 개선과 종사자들의 직업의식 및 근로의욕 고취를 위한 효율적인 동기부여 방안 수립의 기초자료를 제시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과 및 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 설계사무소 및 CM업체 종사자들의 직업 만족도를 분석한 결과, 설계사무소 종사자들은 '근무시간의 단축'항목에 대해 상대적으로 불만족 정도가 높게 나타났고, CM업체 종사자들은 '임금 이외의 복리후생조건'항목에 대해 상대적으로 불만족 정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다중회귀분석을 통해 직업 만족도의 영향요인을 분석한 결과, 설계사무소 종사자들은 업무수행 만족도, CM업체는 내적보상 및 기회 만족도 항목이 가장 많은 영향을 미치고 있었다.
