볼루트의 형상 변화가 원심펌프 성능에 미치는 영향에 대한 수치해석 (NUMERICAL STUDY OF A CENTRIFUGAL PUMP PERFORMANCE WITH VARIOUS VOLUTE SHAPE)

  • Centrifugal pumps consume considerable amounts of energy in various industrial applications. Therefore, improving the efficiency of pumps machine is a crucial challenge in industrial world. This paper presents numerical investigation of flow characteristics in volutes of centrifugal pumps in order to compare the energy consumption. A wide range of volumetric flow rate has been investigated for each case. The standard k-${\varepsilon}$ is adopted as the turbulence model. The impeller rotation is simulated employing the Multi Reference Frames(MRF) method. First, two different conventional design methods, i.e., the constant angular momentum(CAM) and the constant mean velocity (CMV) are studied and compared to a baseline volute model. The CAM volute profile is a logarithmic spiral. The CMV volute profile shape is an Archimedes spiral curve. The modified volute models show lower head value than baseline volute model, but in case of efficiency graph, CAM curve has higher values than others. Finally for this part, CAM curve is selected to be used in the simulation of different cross-section shape. Two different types of cross-section are generated. One is a simple rectangular shape, and the other one is fan shape. In terms of different cross-section shape, simple rectangular geometry generated higher head and efficiency. Overall, simulation results showed that the volute designed using constant angular momentum(CAM) method has higher characteristic performances than one by CMV volute.

수학 영재의 심화학습을 위한 다각형의 무게중심 연구 (Study on a Center of Gravity of Polygon as an Enriched Learning Topic for the Gifted in Mathematics)

  • 본 연구는 중학교 수학 영재를 위한 심화학습 주제로 사용해 볼 수 있는 볼록다각형의 무게중심을 연구하고, 그것을 학생들에게 지도한 예시를 소개한다 아르키메데스의 질량중심의 성질을 바탕으로 다각형의 무게중심을 정의하고, 적분과 내분점에 의해 무게중심 위치를 찾을 수 있는 방법을 설명할 것이다. 그리고 학생들이 무게중심의 성질을 발견하고 정당화하는 과정 속에서 다양한 수학적 사고를 경험하고 여러 문제해결 방법을 시도한다는 것을 살펴본다. 이러한 연구 내용을 통해 교사는 무게중심에 대한 통찰을 가지고 수학 영재를 안내할 수 있고, 학생들이 수학자와 유사한 경험을 하면서 수학적 사고를 중시하는 심화학습에 참여하게 할 수 있을 것이다.

양수구(陽燧灸)(오목거울뜸)에 대한 역사적 고찰 및 한의임상(韓醫臨床)에서 광선구(光線灸)의 활용 전망 (Historical Review on the Parabolic Reflector Moxa and Clinical Applications of Light Moxibustion in Korean Medicine)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to summarize the historical aspects of parabolic reflector moxa and to suggest the applications of light moxibustion in Korean medicine. Results : Getting a fire by parabolic reflector(concave mirror) is well known because of the Olympic torch lighted with a solar reflector in Greece. From anecdotes or myths for Diocles and Archimedes(third century B.C.) a long history has been chronicled in books and films in western culture. However, it has another history in Asian countries since 2,000 years ago. Some reflectors had a tiny size with 6.5 to 10 cm in diameter, 4 mm to 1 cm thickness, and these mobile handheld devices could make us guess that they have been used for multiple purposes. Bronze reflectors were described in Dongeui-bogam, and excavated from the ancient remains of the Shilla and Koryo dynasties. This common firing device was used as a moxibustion device, one of the acupuncture and moxibustion modalities in traditional Korean medicine. Conclusions : Reflector moxa has been used as a light moxibustion to deliver heat energy to acupuncture points, muscles, and skin along meridians. We present a plausible proposal to improve other phototherapy modalities including reflector moxa in Korean medicine practice.

유체역학의 원리 학습을 위한 WBI 프로그램 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development Fluid Mechanics Principles by WBI Learning Program)

  • 중 고등학교에서 유체역학의 원리를 학습할 때 실험 실습에 있어서 시공간의 제약으로 학습에 실효성이 떨어지는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 파스칼의 원리, 아르키메데스의 원리, 베르누이의 정리 등 유체역학에 관한 학습을 웹 브라우저에서 구현하고 Flash와 HTML 등을 이용한 Web 시뮬레이션을 구현하고자 한다. 구현한 WBI(Web Based Instruction) 프로그램은 공업계 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 만족도, 흥미도, 성취도 측면에서 15%이상의 효과를 나타낸 것으로 비교 분석 되었다. 유체역학의 교육공학적 설계와 웹 설계를 통하여 실제 웹서버를 통하여 인터넷 초고속 통신망에서 구현한다. 본 연구는 교육공학과 유체역학 및 인터넷 원격교육 발전에 기여 할 것이다.

환기중(換氣中)인 축사(畜舍)의 열부력(熱浮力)이 공기유동 및 온도분포에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Thermal Buoyancy on Air Flow and Temperature Distribution in a Slot-Ventilated Livestock Building)

  • 환기중인 실험축사내에서 가축의 현열과 환기공기의 온도차에 의한 열부력(熱浮力)(thermal buoyancy)이 공기유동 및 온도분포에 미치는 영향을 구명(究明)하기 위하여 TEACH 컴퓨터프로그램($k-{\varepsilon}$ 난류모형 및 SIMPLE계열 Algorithm)을 Curvilinear Coordinates에 맞게 변형하였다. 계산한 축사내 공기유통 및 온도분포의 유의성(有意性) 검증은 Boon(1978)의 실험결과를 이용하였다. 열부력의 크기에 따른 유동의 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 유입공기의 온도를 $17^{\circ}C$$10^{\circ}C$ 두 수준으로 입력하였으며, 가축의 현열플릭스(flux)는 실내온도에 따라 변화하므로 유압공기의 온도가 $17^{\circ}C$일 때는 130W/$m^2$, $10^{\circ}C$일 때는 170W/$m^2$을 경계조건으로 입력하였다. 예측한 공기유동의 형태는 실험값(Boon, 1978)과 비교하여 대체로 만족할만한 결과를 얻었다. 그러나 유입공기의 온도가 $10^{\circ}C$인 경우, 예측 공기유동은 실험 유동형태와 차이가 있었다. 즉, 실험에서는 수평슬롯으로 유입된 공기가 바로 아래로 굴절되어 유동(流動)하였으나, 계산의 결과는 일정 거리로 수평방향으로 유동하다가 아래로 굴절하였다. 이런 유동의 차이는 경험적으로 열부력(熱浮力)에 민감하게 반응하지 않는 k-${\varepsilon}$ 난류(亂流)모형의 적용이 원인이 되거나 실험의 부적절한 수행이 원인이 될 수도 있다. 이 유동(流動)의 Reynolds 수(數) (Re)는 약 3,300, 수정Ar수(修正Ar數)(Corrected Archimedes Number : $Ar_c$)64로써, $Ar_c$ <30 이거나 $Ar_c$ >75이면 유입공기의 제트는 수평유동한다는 Randall & Battams(1979)의 연구결과와는 일치하였다. 그러나 공기제트의 굴절은 유동의 특성이 같다하더라도 유체의 성질, 축사의 기하학적 형태에 따라서 매우 민감하게 반응하므로 실제 실험을 통한 재검정과정을 거쳐야 할 것으로 판단된다. Fig. 9와 Fig. 10의 기하학적 형태의 지점별 예측온도와 측정온도(Boon, 1978)와의 편차는 대부분의 지점에서는 $1^{\circ}C$ 미만으로 상당히 정확하였으며, 최대의 온도차는 Fig. 10의 지점 13에서 $1.7^{\circ}C$이었다.

Fabrication and Characterization of PZT Suspensions for Stereolithography based on 3D Printing

  • PZT suspensions for photo-curable 3D printing were fabricated and their characteristics were evaluated. After mixing the PZT, photopolymer, photo-initiator, and dispersant for 10 min by using a high-shear mixer, the viscosity characteristics were investigated based on the powder content. To determine an appropriate dispersant content, the dispersant was mixed at 1, 3, and 5 wt% of the powder and a precipitation test was conducted for two hours. Consequently, it was confirmed that the dispersibility was excellent at 3 wt%. Through thermogravimetric analysis, it was confirmed that weight reduction occurred in the photopolymer between 120? and 500?, thereby providing a debinding heat treatment profile. The fabricated suspensions were cured using UV light, and the polymer was removed through debinding. Subsequently, the density and surface characteristics were analyzed by using the Archimedes method and field-emission scanning electron microscopy. Consequently, compared with the theoretical density, an excellent characteristic of 97% was shown at a powder content of 87 wt%. Through X-ray diffraction analysis, it was confirmed that the crystallizability improved as the solid content increased. At the mixing ratio of 87 wt% powder and 13 wt% photo-curable resin, the viscosity was 3,100 cps, confirming an appropriate viscosity characteristic as a stereolithography suspension for 3D printing.

미적분의 역사와 변증법적 유물론 (A History of Calculus and the Dialectical Materialism)

  • 수학이 발달해 온 과정과 그 결과물은 언제나 역사적 한계 속에서 역사적 필연성에 의해 그 한계를 돌파해 온 과정이자 결과물이었다. 이러한 모습을 미적분학의 역사를 통해서 보여주려 한 것이 이 글이다 이 글을 전개하는데 밑바탕에 전제로 두고 있는 것은 변증법적 유물론이다. 이것은 변화와 발전을 개인의 주관적인 판단이 아니라 사회-역사적인 물적 조건을 일차적인 것으로 하여 일어나는 것으로 본다. 유물변증법은 기원전 4세기 무렵의 아르키메데스 시대 이후 한동안의 공백기를 지나 17세기에 본격적으로 다루어지게 된 미적분을 설명하는데 적격이다. 또한 그것은 미적분의 발달 과정에서 보이는 여러 번의 동시 발견과 같은 것들을 설명하는데도 적격이다 필자는 이 글을 통해서 수학이 단순히 기호의 형식논리학적 전개나 주관에 의한 발명이 아니라 사회-역사적 산물임을 보이려 한다 이를 통해서 수학 교수-학습을 현실 세계로부터 출발해야 한다는 논의에 철학적 바탕을 제공하고자 한다.

복합레진의 초기 동적 체적 중합수축의 실시간 측정 -새로운 측정장치의 개발에 대한 소고- (A NEW METHOD - REAL TIME MEASUREMENT OF THE INITIAL DYNAMIC VOLUMETRIC SHRINKAGE OF COMPOSITE RESINS DURING POLYMERIZATION)

  • The polymerization shrinkage of composite resins is an important drawback although the composites have many advantages-more esthetic and conservative than metallic restoratives etc. The purposes of this research were to develop a new measurement method and to manufacture an instrument that can measure the initial dynamic volumetric shrinkage of composite resins during polymerization. The instrument was basically an electromagnetic balance that constructed with a force transducer using position sensitive photo detector(PSPD) and a negative feedback servo amplifier of proportional-derivative(PD) controller. The volumetric change of composites during polymerization was detected continuously as buoyancy change in distilled water by means of Archimedes's principle. It was converted to continuous electrical voltage signal in real time. The signal was properly conditioned and filtered and then it was stored in computer by a data acquisition(DAQ) board. By using this electronic instrument. the dynamic patterns of the polymerization shrinkage of eight commercial(Z-100, DenFil, AeliteFil, Z-250, P-60, SureFil, Synergy compact, and Tetric ceram) composite resins were measured and compared. The results were as follows. 1. From this project of developing instrument, the ability has been achieved that can acquire and process data of electrical signal transformed from various physical phenomenon by using temperature, displacement. photo. and force transducer. As a consequence, the instrumentation and measurement system used to analyze the physical characteristics of various dental materials in dental research field can be designed, manufactured and implemented in lab. 2. This instrument has some advantages. It was insensible to temperature change and could measure true dynamic volumetric shrinkage in real time without complicated process. It showed accuracy and high precision results with small standard deviation. 3. The polymerization shrinkage of composites was significantly different between brands and ranged from 2.47% to 3.89%, The order of polymerization shrinkage was as follows, in order of increasing shrinkage, SureFil, P60, Z250, Z100, Synergy compact. DenFil, Tetric ceram, and AeliteFil. 4. The polymerization shrinkage rate per unit time, dVol%/dt, showed that the instrument can provide an indirect research method for polymerization reaction kinetics.

Sintering and Mechanical Properties of Chromium Boride-chromium Carbide Composites

  • Several boride sintered bodies such as $TiB_2$, $ZrB_2$, and $SiB_6$ were previously reported. In the present study, the sinterability and physical properties of chromium boride $(CrB_2)$ containing chromium carbide $(Cr_3C_2)$ sintered bodies were investigated in order to determine its new advanced material. The samples were sintered at desired temperature for 1 hour in vacuum under a pressure by hot pressing. The relative density of sintered bodies was measured by Archimedes' method. The relative densities of $CrB_2$ addition of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 mass% $Cr_3C_2$ composites were 92 to 95%. The Vickers hardness of the $CrB_2$ with 10 and 15 mass% $Cr_3C_2$ composites were about 14 and 15 GPa at room temperature, respectively. The Vickers hardness at high temperature of the $CrB_2$ addition of 10 mass% $Cr_3C_2$ composite decreased with increasing measurement temperature. The Vickers hardness at 1273 K of the sample was 6 GPa. The Vickers hardness of $CrB_2$ addition of $Cr_3C_2$ composites was higher than monolithic $CrB_2$ sintered body. The powder X-ray diffraction analysis detected CrB and $B_4C$ phases in $CrB_2$ containing $Cr_3C_2$ composites.

정전분체코팅 공정으로 제조된 SUS316L 분말 다공체의 기공 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Pore Properties of SUS316L Powder Porous Metal Fabricated by Electrostatic Powder Coating Process)

  • Porous metals demonstrate not only excessively low densities, but also novel physical, thermal, mechanical, electrical, and acoustic properties. Thus, porous metals exhibit exceptional performance, which are useful for diesel particulate filters, heat exchangers, and noise absorbers. In this study, SUS316L foam with 90% porosity and $3,000{\mu}m$ pore size is successfully manufactured using the electrostatic powder coating (ESPC) process. The mean size of SUS316L powders is approximately $12.33{\mu}m$. The pore properties are evaluated using SEM and Archimedes. As the quantity of powder coating increases, pore size decreases from 2,881 to $1,356{\mu}m$. Moreover, the strut thickness and apparent density increase from 423.7 to $898.3{\mu}m$ and from 0.278 to $0.840g/cm^3$, respectively. It demonstrates that pore properties of SUS316L powder porous metal are controllable by template type and quantity of powder coating.
