  • It aims to understand how the time can be expressed in architecture from viewpoints of Oriental and Western philosophy. We just have done sporadic studies such as historical time, physical time, specific time, time as the space-time continuum and appreciation time. It`s impossible to find out that time exactly is since `time` is ambiguous. Because the meaning is formed newly by relational changes between visible and invisible existing thing. In such point of view, this study attempts at analyzing the inter-relationship between the art, music, architecture and time-concept in oriental and western philosophy. A comparative study follows : Time can be classified into the linear concept of time & the cyclic concept of time in an agricultural civilization and oriental philosophy. Linear concept of time can be divided into 1)the inevitable concept of time and 2)the 4-dimensional concept of time and 3) the indefinite concept of time.

  • The relationship between hydrologic processes and scale is one of the more complex issues in surface water hydrology. Disturbances that change vegetation and/or soil properties have been known to subsequently alter the landscape. The primary objective of this study was to estimate the grain size of soils with different properties from the hydraulic conductivity using pedotransfer functions. The double ring infiltrometer method was used to measure the vertical hydraulic conductivity of three soils under different soil planar surface treatments. Seven selected pedotransfer functions were used to estimate percentile diameters and the reduction in infiltration caused by compaction was misconstrued as caused by changes in percentile diameter. Results showed that compaction on the sandy loamy foot paths reduced the hydraulic conductivity by about 50%. The study showed that perceptual models of infiltration processes and appreciation of scale problems in modeling are far more sophisticated than normally presented in texts. Hydraulic measurement methods are still relevant and will provide significant information of grain size of the soils.

Because to this exhibition hall is too small space, this design focus is continual circulation plan. The exhibit is classified to according to the character of that, which is distinguished according to the colour plan. The center of the hall is main image hall of university. The right space of the main hail is university history exhibition hall and the left space of the hall is a founder memorial hall. The main colour is light cream. • Natural resources managers have considered the landscape without detailed consideration of aesthetic values of the landscape and geomorphological significance of unique landforms. Since EIA system was introduced in 1981, values associated with landscape protection have been neglected at best compared with those values traditionally attributed to environmental protection, including clean air, water quality and species protection. Black top highways are being built without consideration of harmful effects to the sea cliffs. Sea walls and tetrapod are being installed to protect the coastal towns and fish markets for tourist. However, beach itself are experiencing accelerated erosion due to the shortage of proper coastal engineering expertise. Hotels and condominiums are under construction on a massive scale around the national parks, which substitute the scenic ridges with concrete profiles. To protect the scenic beauty of national parks, their design and construction material should be more harmonious with the surroundings. Therefore, visual impact assessment should be applied both within the national park boundary and beyond to enhance the aesthetic values of national parks.

  • This article presents a concept analysis of the gratitude experience of diseased patients. The Rodgers' Evolutionary Method was used for conducting the analysis. A search of CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsycARTICLES, and Springer databases was conducted using "gratitude or appreciation or thanks" and "patient or illness" as a key word, 22 final articles were selected. Three critical attributes of gratitude in patients were identified: positive emotions, acceptance of the current status, and a driving force to plant the will of life. In addition, two antecedents of gratitude in patients were identified: interactions with people or the environment, and the perception of a favorable stimuli or help. Two consequences of gratitude in patients were identified: an increased compliance in implemented treatment, and an enhancement of trust relationship. The concept analysis describes diseased patients' gratitude. This paper will become the basis for future clinical research related to diseased patients' gratitude.

  • The 1960s is a decade that is marked by new concepts of art making and art appreciation. Starting from Fluxus, the new art in the 1960s such as Happenings and performance art pursued the process of art making as an integral part of artistic experience. The traditional concept of art works that only appeal to vision soon became a site of contentious experiments and innovations in which the experience of seeing is accompanied by other sensual encounters of sound, smell, touch, and taste. These attempts can be seen as a revolutionary move to restore the sense of corporeality to the act of seeing that has been disembodied by the way in which western art has built the unifying, homeogenous field of vision. This paper delves into the works of Fluxus artists - Daniel Spoerri, Ben Vautier, Alison Knowles, Ay-O, and Takako Saito - who were central figures in taking art into the new age of post-ocularcentrism. Exploring the sense of smell, touch, and taste, these artists led the viewer to participate in their art making with the incorporated vision.

  • The Rotterdam Rules, which was adopted in December 2008 by UNCITRAL, has underlying intention that it will provide uniform law for the international carriage of goods by sea and modernize transport law reflecting modern transport custom. However, it is also true that there are various conflicting views on the Rotterdam Rules. This article tried to analyze main controversial issues such as scope of application, basis of liability of the shipper and the carrier, exception th the volume contract, legal position of the freight forwarder, delivery of the goods from the both sides of view. The Rotterdam Rules exposes some problems in applying and interpreting the Rules as many people indicated. These problems, I think, mainly due to the extended scope of application and broader range of issues. However, I do not think that the Rotterdam Rules will serious affect to the international transport industry. Furthermore, it is unreasonable to expect perfect Rules satisfying every interests.

  • It is essential to get full social supports of our national parks for the achievement of long-term goals of our national parks. Thus the main objective of this paper is to identify major perception types of interest groups of our national parks. The research method is greatly indebted to Hofer. Two stages of questionnaire surveys were carried out to identify perception types related to national parks and the statstical analysis of perception types. The findings of this study are as follows. First, eight types of perception on national parks were selected through the statistical analysis of ten preliminary perception types; nature preservation, appreciation of scenic beauty, culture, recreation, research, education, ethics, and economy. Second, three or four phrases relevant to eight perception types were identified. Third, it could be concluded that perception types identified through this research are significantly different from those commonly perceived on national parks and natural landscapes in western countries.
