Network Camera for CMOS Camera Module Inspection (CMOS 카메라 모듈 검사를 위한 네트워크 카메라)

  • In this paper, we developed a network camera for CMOS camera module inspection. The design, implementation details including embedded linux porting and CPLD logics, and performance of network camera are described. The network camera consists of SoC(S3C4530A), CPLD and CMOS image sensor. In order to image data of CMOS image sensor we designed capture logics on CPLD by using VHDL program. Embedded Linux such as uClinux is performed on the network camera to utilize development environment and TCP/IP protocol specification. The application is based on socket communication between GUI on PC and Embedded Linux based network camera. When JPEG compression is applied, the transmission speed was improved enough for this system to be used for an alternative of expensive CCTV or remote monitoring system in a power plant and uninhabited places.

  • Laboratory information system (LIS) is a key tool to manage laboratory data in clinical pathology. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer. The authors suggests that this system based on down-sized computer could provide a progressive approach to total LIS based on local area network, and the implemented system could serve as a model for other hospital's LIS for routine hematology.

  • Since 1996, KEPCO has been operating a wide range lightning detection system, LPATS, and been accumulating relative application techniques and statistical analysis skills. So, KEPRI already has its own basis to develope more accurate advanced detection technology and references to do comparative study. For three-dimensional imaging of lightning channels, UHF/VHF antenna systems were installed at 2 sites. The distance between two sites is about 30 km. These systems were used the AOA(Angle of Arrival) methods for lightning detection. In this paper, we would like to introduce about our system and its results.

  • This paper implemented system that run Canonical XML and SOAP messages algorithm. So, can change to more elaborate regular document. Thus, interoperable with other application that takes W3C recommendation. Also, use in several system that physical identify is required when it exchange XML and SOAP messages for web service interoperability. Moreover, Adding the transformation ability between universal encoding scheme and EUC-KR that is internal encoding scheme should be Canonical XML and SOAP messages algorithm that is suited to internal circumstances, and this should be a foundation technique of international interoperability confirmedness.

A Study on the Performance of a Centrifugal Pump with Two-Phase Flow (기-액 2상유동에 따른 원심펌프 성능변화에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, experimental and numerical analyses are carried out to investigate the performance of centrifugal pump with various air admitting conditions. Experiments on the pump performance under air-water two-phase flow are accomplished using a centrifugal pump with semi-open type impeller having three, five and seven blades, respectively. Also, the numerical analysis of turbulent air-water two-phase flow using the finite volume method has been carried out to obtain the pressure, velocities and void fraction on the basis of a so-called bubbly flow model with the constant size and shape of cavity. The results obtained through this study show the reasonable agreements within the range of bubbly flow regime. There are promising developments concerning application of the present study for the flow in a centrifugal pump with two-phase flow conditions and efforts must be followed to improve the turbulence model and two-phase flow model for turbomachinery.

  • In recent years, the discrete-data and digital control systems have gained importance in all industies due in part to the advances made in microcomputers, as well as the advantages found in working with digital signals. So, the developments of the computer aided design packages to analysis, control law design and digital implementation of control systems are increasingly needed and those substantial technological improvements are now expected. In the paper, a real time control program package(RTCPP) for the implementation of digital control is developed by using C language. The digital controls for the feedfoward and feedback controllers such as PI(propotional and Integration) type, regulator and servo types can be implemented by an IBM PC compatible computer with some interface modules of A-D/D-A converter and RS-232C. The effectiveness of RTCPP is illustrated by the application controls for motor and magnetic levitation systems.

  • The needs of new materials that substitute Si Oxide capacitor layer in high density DRAM increase. So in this paper, we choose the slim region 14/50/50 PLZT composition and fabricated thin films by PLD and estimated the characteristics for DRAM application. 14/50/50 PLZT thin films have crystallized into perovskite structure in the $600^{\circ}C$ deposition temperature and 200 mTorr Oxygen pressure. In this condition, PLZT thin films had 985 dielectric constant, storage charge density 8.17 $\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and charging time 0.20ns. Leakage Current density was less than 10$^{-10}$ A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ until 5V bias voltage.

A Study on the Ground Improvement by Compaction Grouting System (C.G.S에 의한 기초지반보강효과에 관한 연구)

  • The use of compaction grouting system(C.G.S) evolved in the 1950's to correct structural settlement of buildings. Over the almost 50 years, the technology has developed and is currently used in wide range of applications. Compaction Grouting, the injection of a very stiff 'zero-slump' mortar grout under relatively high pressure, displaces and compacts soils. It can effectively repair natural or man-made soil strength deficiencies in variety of soil formations. Major uses of Compaction Grouting include densifying loose soils or fill voids caused by sinkholes, poorly compacted fills, broken utilities, improper dewatering, or soft ground tunneling excavation. Other application include preventing liquefaction, re-leveling settled structures, and using compaction grout bulbs as structural elements of minipiles or underpinning. So, on the basis of the case history constructed in recent year, a study has been performed to analyze the basic mechanism of the Compaction Grouting and verify the effectiveness of the ground improvement.

Minimization of Complex Terms using BDD and it's Application to Cellular Architecture FPGA (BDD를 이용한 complex term의 최소화와 cellular architecture FPGA에의 응용)

  • An efficient synthesis method of cellular architecture FPgA is proposed in this paper. To generate a logical representation called complex term which is to be directly mapped onto the cellular architecture FPGA, and SO or ESOP minimization tool was used in previous methods. Instead, we use a logic function transformed into BDD (binary decision diagram) in the actual generation of the complex temrs. In this process it estimates the cost(i.e. the number of complex terms) for three branches, 0-branch and 1-branches. This process is continued over the whole BDD to do such computation, and we observed that the number of complex terms has been reduced compared to the previous results.

A Flashover Prediction Method by the Leakage Current Monitoring in the Contaminated Polymer Insulator (누설 전류 모니터링에 의한 오손된 고분자 애자에서의 섬락 예지 방법)

  • In this Paper, a flashover prediction method using the leakage current in the contaminated EPDM distribution polymer insulator is proposed. The leakage currents on the insulator were measured simultaneously with the different salt fog application such as 25g, 50g, and 75g per liter of deionized water. Then, the measured leakage currents were enveloped and transformed as the CDFS using the Hilbert transform and the level crossing rate, respectively. The obtained CDFS having different gradients(angles) were used as a important factor for the flashover prediction of the contaminated polymer insulator. Thus, the average angle change with an identical salt fog concentration was within a range of 20 degrees, and the average angle change among the different salt fog concentrations was 5 degrees. However, it is hard to be distinguished each other because the gradient differences among the CDFS were very small. So, the new weighting value was defined and used to solve this problem. Through simulation, it Is verified that the proposed method has the capability of the flashover prediction.
