노년기 여성의 자아통합감과 인구통계적 특성, 건강 및 외모행동과의 관련 연구 (Ego Integrity, Appearance Behavior, Health, and Demographic Variables of Elderly Women)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the differences of appearance behavior and ego integrity of elderly women according to demographic variables, and health, and to examine how the ego integrity of elderly women was influenced by appearance behavior, health, and demographic variables. The subjects were 117 elderly women(aged 60 to 70) in Jinju, Korea who were interviewed face-to face with a survey questionnaire. The results of the study were as follows. There were significant differences in appearance adornment and ego integrity (wise living and attitude toward life) according to age. After controlling for age, there were significant differences in appearance interest, makeup, and ego integrity according to education. There was a significant difference in ego integrity (attitude toward life) according to the presence of a spouse or mate. There were significant differences in appearance interest, makeup, and ego integrity according to health. Health and education had a significant effect on satisfaction with the present living. Health, age(-), and appearance behavior had a significant effect on wise living. Health, age(-), and education had a significant effect on attitude toward life. Education and health had a significant effect on appearance behavior. The present findings indicate that health state and appearance behavior, such as appearance interest and makeup, had a significant effect on the ego integrity of elderly women. On the whole, the ego integrity of elderly women was positively correlated with the level of health state, education, and appearance behavior.

외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도가 지각적.태도적 신체이미지와 의복행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Sociocultural Attitude toward Appearance on Perceptual, Attitudinal Body Images and Clothing Behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study was to exam the effects of sociocultural attitude toward appearance on perceptual attitudinal body images and clothing behaviors. The research method was survey and the subjects were 447 male and female adolescents in Daejeon. The questionnaire consisted of 4 measuring instruments; sociocultural attitude toward appearance, perceptual and attitudinal body images, clothing behaviors, and subject’s demographic attributions. The data were analyzed by Cronbach's $\alpah$, x$^2$ test, t-test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. Adolescents had relatively high level recognition and internalization of sociocultural value toward appearance, and they perceived very thin body type as ideal body and had high interest of their appearance and weight. Sociocultural attitude toward appearance had important effects on adolescents' perceptual and attitudinal body images and clothing behaviors. The adolescents who are receptive to sociocultural value toward appearance had the tendency to distort their body as fat, showed high interest of their appearance and weight, and also showed high clothing interest & psychological dependency, clothing ostentation, and clothing conformity, but low clothing comfort than those who are not receptive to sociocultural value toward appearance.

남자 대학생의 외모관리태도에 따른 니트웨어 구매행동 (The Buying Behavior of Knitwear according to Appearance Management Attitude of the Male College Students)

  • This study examines the appearance management attitude factor of male college students and groups them according to their characteristics. Then this research analyzes their interest in knitwear, buying behavior, and characteristics to see what kind of differences exist. The results of the research are as follows: First, after conducting a factor analysis to identify the appearance management attitude of male college students, 3 factors emerged(sought personality, pursued trends, and appearance interest). Second, as a result grouping the students according to their attitude. It is created 3 groups(fashionista group, personality group, and appearance interest group). Third, for the interest in knitwear, the fashionista group had the highest interest in knitwear, with a preferred brand when purchasing. Fourth, the fashionista group that values personality and latest trends was more likely to purchase knitwear than the personality group or the appearance interest group. Finally, the majority preferred solid colors. Over 50% of the students preferred knits without any patterns. Also, the most preferred 100% cotton. As this survey was only surveyed in Seoul and Gyounggi areas. The next research requires to be surveyed in a more comprehensive area. Additionally, male college students must more effectively be segmented and surveyed to get accurate results.

초.중등 여학생의 성 성숙과 자기개념이 외모관심도와 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Sexual Maturity and Self-Concept on Interest in Appearance and Appearance Management Behavior for Female Students in Elementary and Middle School)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초 중등 여학생의 외모관심도와 외모관리행동이 성 성숙, 자기개념과 어떠한 상관관계를 갖는지 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 서울지역의 초 중등 여학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외모관심도와 외모관리행동 모두 중학생이 초등학생보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생이 중학생보다 전체적으로 긍정적인 자기개념을 가지고 있었고 특히 가정자기가 유의하게 높았다. 셋째, Tanner Stage가 초등학생은 2,3단계로서 사춘기 초기 상태, 중학생은 3,4단계로서 성장 발육의 진행 상태에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 월경을 하는 학생의 비율이 초등학생은 33%에 불과한 반면, 중학생은 90%로 대부분이 월경을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 성 성숙에 대한 주관적인 느낌 역시 차이를 보여, 초등학생은 자신의 성 성숙 속도가 또래보다 빠르다고 느낄 때, 중학생은 느리다고 느낄 때 부정적인 느낌을 가졌다. 넷째, 초 중등 여학생의 외모관심도에 자기개념과 성 성숙이 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 초등학생은 가정적 자기개념이 낮을수록, 사회적 자기개념이 높을수록 외모에 대한 관심이 높았다. 중학생은 사회적 자기개념이 높을수록, 가정적 자기개념이 낮을수록, 성숙에 대한 느낌이 부정적일수록, 신체적 자기개념이 높을수록 외모에 대한 관심이 높았다. 또한 초 중등 여학생의 외모관리행동에 외모관심도와 자기개념 및 성 성숙이 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 초등학생은 외모관심이 높을수록 외모관리행동에 적극적이었다. 중학생의 외모관리행동은 외모에 대한 관심이 높을수록, 가정적 자기개념이 낮을수록, 사회적 자기개념이 높을수록 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다.

유행선도력과 외모관심도에 따른 추구혜택 및 화장행동 비교 (Comparison of benefit sought and makeup behaviors based on fashion leadership and appearance interest)

  • This study identified market segments by fashion leadership and appearance interest and compared each group in clothing benefits and makeup benefits pursued as well as makeup behaviors. The data were collected from 20~30 women during September, 2012, and a total of 302 surveys were analyzed. About 46.5% was in their twenties, and more than 39% was students and 35.4% was office workers. Findings were as follows. First, according to fashion leadership and appearance interest, three groups were identified, fashion leader group, appearance interest group, and uninterested group. Second, uninterested group showed the oldest average age among three groups. Fashion leader group showed the higher proportion of students and professional. Third, fashion leader group showed the highest mean score of self-esteem, while uninterested group showed the lowest level. Fourth, fashion leader group pursued attractive body image, social benefit, and individuality for clothing benefits, while uninterested group valued convenience. Fifth, with respect to makeup benefits pursued, fashion leader group presented a high level of esthetic, self-confidence, and functional pursuit, whereas uninterested group showed the opposite. Sixth, respondents tended to depend on internet most as cosmetic information sources, followed by family/friends, and magazine in order. Implications for cosmetic business were provided.

남성의 외모 관리 행동에 대한 태도 및 인식 (Male Attitude and Recognition for Appearance Management Behavior)

  • This study aims on observing the recognition and attitude of caring for outer appearance by deducing the factors of men caring for their outer appearance at current point where male position is being emphasized in the appearance related market and their interest for outer appearance care is increasing. As a result of conducting a survey, male appearance caring behavior was distinguished into fashion, skin and cosmetic, cosmetic surgery, physical image, and hair factors, and among them, physical image factor showed the highest average, which proves that men generally have positive attitude towards caring for their looks. Concerning skin and cosmetics, the results show that interest is high regardless of age and occupation, and the lower the age is, the higher average for fashion, cosmetic surgery, and hair factors, proving that young men have more interest for caring after their looks. However, there was difference in outer appearance caring behavior pursued or favored by each age bracket according to the higher average for physical image in the age bracket higher than 30. Also, each factor of outer appearance caring behavior turned out to have significant correlation to each other.

외모에 대한 사회문화적 가치관의 내면화가 청소년들의 신체이미지와 의복행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Internalization of Socio-cultural Values Relating to Appearance on Adolescents' Body Images and Clothing Behaviors)

  • The proposes of this study were to exam the effects of internalization of sociocultural values toward appearance on adolescents' body image and clothing behaviors, and to analyze these effects by adolescents' sex and age variables. The research method was survey and the subjects were 447 male and female adolescents in Daejeon, Korea. The questionnaire consisted of 4 measuring instruments; internalization of sociocultural values toward appearance, body image, clothing behaviors, and demographic attributions. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, t-test, variance analysis, Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results are as follows. First, most of adolescents showed positive attitude on sociocultural values toward appearance, and female and high school students revealed higher level of internalization than male and middle school students. Second, as a result of factor analysis, 3 factors emerged in body image(appearance interest, appearance evaluation, and weight concern) and 4 factors emerged in clothing behaviors(clothing interest & psychological dependency, clothing ostentation, clothing conformity, and clothing comfort). Third, internalization of sociocultural values toward appearance had important effects on adolescents' body image and clothing behaviors; the adolescents who had high level internalization showed more interest on their appearance and weight and higher clothing interest & psychological dependency and clothing ostentation and lower clothing comfort than other adolescents who had middle or low level internalization. Forth, internalization of sociocultural values toward appearance showed many different effects on body image and clothing behaviors by adolescents' sex and age variables.

보건계열의 학생과 일반대학생의 이성 친구 여부에 따른 외모관심도와 행복지수 (Appearance and happiness index according to whether or not heterosexual friend)

  • Purpose. In this study, we aim to clarify the correlation between happiness, appearance, and happiness index among many happiness factors based on the influence of quality of life on the quality of life and the affect of appearance on the happiness index. Methods. We conducted a self - filling questionnaire survey for college students in Busan from March 30 to May 10, 2017, and analyzed 392 copies of the 412 questionnaires, excluding 20 inappropriate copies. In the questionnaire, categorical data were analyzed by frequency and percentage (%) using the SPSS program (ver. 23.0, Chicago, Illinois, USA) by examining 11 items of general characteristics, successive data are presented as mean standard deviation. Results. The higher the grades, the better the dating. Women(3.32) are more likely than men(2.74) at the appearance interest(p>0.001) and the higher the grades, the better. If it's dating someone else, higher than not to do at the appearance interest and all of the questions showed higher interest in appearance. Also there was a high percentage of thought'My life is ideal in all aspects'If it's dating someone else, higher than not to do (p=0.007) Conclusion. At present, There is a high interest in the appearance of dating. In addition, the happiness index according to the current resentment status was higher in both the single item happiness index and the 5 item happiness index, and was significant in the item "My life is ideal in all aspects". Therefore, it is related to the happiness index as well as the appearance interest. Finally, whether or not dating and appearance interest play a role in raising the happiness of the individual.

북한이탈여성의 자아존중감과 외모관리행동과의 관련성 (The Relationship between Self Esteem and Appearance Management Behavior in North Korean Immigrant Women)

  • 본 연구는 북한이탈 여성의 자아존중감과 외모관리행동의 관련성 및 외모관리행동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 연구이며, 2014년 12월부터 2015년 2월까지 북한이탈여성 총 201명의 자료를 분석하였다. 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대상자의 자아존중감은 4점 만점에 2.40점으로 조사되었다. 외모관심도는 5점 만점에 3.20점이며, 외모관리 행동은 5점 만점에 2.67점으로, 대상자들은 메이크업과 의복관리 행동을 많이 하지만 운동, 섭식 행동은 평균보다 낮은 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 대상자의 자아존중감과 외모관심도는 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도에 따른 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 외모관리행동에서는 외모관리 하위 영역별 차이는 있으나, 연령, 성형관심도, 재북시 직업과 유의한 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 대상자의 자아존중감은 외모관심도, 외모관리행동과 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도와 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 외모관심도는 외모관리행동, 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도와의 상관관계를 보였으며, 또한 외모관리행동은 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도와 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 넷째, 자아존중감과 외모관심도는 대상자의 외모관리행동을 44.7% 설명하였다. 따라서, 본 연구는 한국사회의 중요한 구성원인 북한이탈여성들의 자아존중감 향상 및 외모관리 프로그램 개발의 기초자료로 활용될 것이라 기대한다.

성인여성들의 신체이미지에 따른 의복이미지 (A Study on the Women's Clothing Image According to Their Body Image)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify women's clothing image according to their body image. Self-administered questionnaires were used for data collection. The results were as followed: First, the body image was shown in three dimensions of care for appearance, concern about weight, and appearance attractiveness. And clothing image was shown in seven dimensions of gorgeousness, beauty, sophistication, comfort, confidence, neatness, and feminity. Second, women were segmented into interest in appearance attractiveness group, body image intermediate group, appearance & weight concern group, and body image retard group. Interest in appearance attractiveness group and appearance & weight concern group were found frequently among women in 20s and students or unmarried women, preferred for gorgeousness and feminity of clothing more, and enjoyed internet shopping. Appearance & weight concern group was heavier than interest in appearance attractiveness group. Body image intermediate group were found frequently among women of lower education, and shopped at stores. Third, younger unmarried women preferred for beauty, confidence, and feminity of clothing image and older women preferred for comfort more. Women who preferred for beauty and sophistication of clothing image shopped at internet shopping mall more frequently.
