  • In emergency situations, first aid workers are the main task of trauma evaluation and care. However, the scope of first-aid treatment is small and they are mainly carried out to the emergency room of the hospital. If a specialist who is in charge of an emergency situation is connected and emergency medical treatment through remote medical direction is performed, accurate diagnosis and appropriate care can be helped. This paper has developed an smart application(app) to support remote medical direction for emergency medical services. The developed smart app allows emergency rescuers to call a doctor at a remote location and transmit real-time status of emergency patients to vital sign and video. This will help to diagnose the patient's condition accurately. In addition, emergency care can be instructed and response in the emergency room can be made quickly.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to develop a smartphone app-based emergency coping education program to improve caregivers' emergency coping abilities and identify the program's effect on knowledge, attitudes and confidence in first aid. Methods: The study was conducted with 80 caregivers in elderly care facilities and home care centers. A total of 40 participants were assigned to experimental and control groups of caregivers working in elderly care facilities and home care centers using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The data were analyzed using the 𝝌2-test and the independent t-test with the SPSS 25.0 program. Results: The experimental group had higher scores and a statistically significant increase in knowledge(t=6.26, p<.001), attitude(t=5.25, p<.001), confidence(t=3.38, p<.001) and emergency coping abilities(t=8.83, p<.001) was observed in comparison to the control group. Conclusion: The smartphone app-based emergency coping education program has proven the effectiveness of education by improving the ability of caregivers to cope with emergencies, suggesting the need to expand and apply it to more caregivers. In order to maximize the learning effect, app-based educational content should be developed in more diverse areas along with follow-up research with various education contents.

  • In this study, We conducted a survey for improvement about disaster in multiple casualties. Results, It was checked out many problems that Triage is inconvenience in using and damaging. And it was turned out that firefighting resources are not being put efficiently in the right place. Therefore, We are proposed that expansion of education and training opportunities, Location system of emergency activity resource in using App, Cope with a multiple casualties in using QR Code.

  • As the number of single-person households is increasing in Korea, the demand for emergency support networks for the elderly and women is also growing. To meet the need, systemic solutions, such as a wide distribution of cell phones with embedded motion sensors that can alert the first responders or police in case of health or safety crisis, are regarded as critical issues. This paper introduces a design which registers the user's motions to process emergency reports via a mobile app running in the background. The method offers an affordable solution to reporting emergencies taking place both indoors and outdoors as it does not require an addition of hardware but only simple hand gestures.

  • In this paper, a minimum rotation radius was designed and fabricated to overcome the threshold so that elderly or disabled people who have difficulty moving can move and transfer safely and conveniently in a narrow room. In the indoor environment, where the sedentary culture develops, this study aimed to provide convenience for passengers with fracture diseases, geriatric diseases, and other knee and waist diseases. First, links, seats, armrests, covers, motors, batteries, chargers, controllers, etc. were attached to the frame so that they could be moved and lifted indoors. The product design and structure were designed considering the user's environment and physical characteristics, and IoT functions were added. A driving experiment was performed to confirm the operating performance of the manufactured indoor moving and lifting wheelchair. The performance tests, such as continuous running time, turning radius, maximum actuator load, maximum lift height, sound pressure level, minimum sensing distance of the driving aid sensor, interworking of server and app programs, device compatibility, and duty cycle error rate, were performed. As a result of the test, the built-in wheelchair could achieve the performance test target of each item and operate successfully.
