This paper proposes novel algorithm for anti-islanding of grid-connected photovoltaic(PV) inverter. The islanding of PV systems can cause a variety of problems such as deterioration in power quality and electric shock. To prevent islanding, many anti-islanding methods are researched. Typical methods of anti-islanding are active frequency drift(AFD) and active frequency drift positive feedback(AFDPF). However, the AFD has problem that widely exists non diction zone(NDZ). The AFDPF is a method that improves the AFD method and is detected islanding by changing the chopping fraction(cf). However, The AFDPF does not detect when cf is very small and does not satisfy the IEEE Std. 929-2000 when cf is very big. Therefore, this paper proposes novel anti-islanding method that is simple to implement using virtual resister. The anti-islanding method proposed in this paper is compared with conventional method. The validity of this paper is proved using this result.

A novel anti-islanding method for the distributed power generation system (DPGS) is proposed in this paper. Three different islanding scenarios are explored and presented based on the analysis of real and reactive power mismatch. It is shown via investigation that islanding voltage is a function of real power alone, where its frequency is a function of both real and reactive power. Following this analysis, a robust anti-islanding algorithm is developed. The proposed algorithm continuously perturbs ($\pm$5%) the reactive power supplied by the DPGS while simultaneously monitoring the utility voltage and frequency. In the event of islanding, a measurable frequency deviation takes place, upon which the real power of the DPGS is further reduced to 80%. A drop in voltage positively confirms islanding and the DPGS is then safely disconnected. This method of control is shown to be robust: it is able to detect islanding under resonant loads and is also fast acting (operable in one cycle). Possible islanding conditions are simulated and verified through analysis. Experimental results on a 0.5kW fuel cell system connected to a utility grid are discussed.
This paper proposes active frequency drift (AFD) as an anti-islanding method applied to micro-inverters with uncontrollable reactive power. When using ordinary inverter topologies, such as full bridge inverters in photovoltaic systems, the islanding phenomenon can be detected with reactive power-based methods, such as reactive power variation. However, when the inverter topology cannot control the reactive power, conventional anti-islanding methods with reactive power cannot be utilized. In this work, the topology used in this paper cannot control the reactive power. Thus, an anti-islanding method that can be used in topologies that cannot control the reactive power is proposed. The conventional anti-islanding method of the topology that cannot control reactive power is introduced and analyzed. Unlike the conventional AFD method, the proposed method extends a zero current interval every predetermined cycle. The proposed method offers certain advantages over conventional AFD methods, such as total harmonic distortion. The proposed method is validated through simulation and experiment.

When distributed generation such as a wind power system is connected to the grid, it should meet grid requirements like IEEE Std. 1547, which regulates the anti-islanding method. Since the islanding may cause damage on electrical equipments or safety hazards for utility line worker, a distributed generation should detect it as soon as possible. This paper proposes a hybrid anti-islanding method coupled with the active and passive detection methods. To enhance the harmonic extraction capability for an active harmonic injection method, cascaded second-order band-pass filter and signal processing scheme are employed. Simulation and experiments are carried out under the islanding test condition specified in IEEE Std. 1547. Passive over/under voltage and over/under frequency methods are combined with the active method to improve the detection speed under certain condition. The simulation and experimental results are presented to verify that the proposed hybrid anti-islanding method can effectively detect the islanding.
Islanding phenomenon is undesirable because it lead to a safety hazard to utility service personnel and may cause damage to power generation and power supply facilities as a result of unsynchronized reclosure. In order to prevent the phenomenon, various anti-islanding methods have been studied. This paper proposes the variation method of inverter output current magnitude to prevent the islanding phenomenon as a novel method, which causes the large frequency variation of inverter output voltage after islanding. Unlike most active anti-islanding method deteriorating power quality, this novel method will have high performance of islanding detection and good power quality. For the verification of the proposed method, the simulated result and analyses are presented.

Islanding is the electrical phenomenon in a part of a power network disconnected from the utility, where the loads are entirely supplied by PV systems, and where the voltage and frequency are maintained around nominal values. But islanding may result in power-quality issues, interference to grid-protection devices, equipment damage, and even personnel safety hazards[4]. Therefore, islanding must be detected and stopped. The existing anti-islanding methods have NDZ(None-detection Zone) or power quality degradation. But PV-AF power generation system has the function of not only shunt active filter but also anti-islanding method without NDZ. In this paper, It is proved that PV-AF system has originally the function of anti-islanding without not only NDZ and but current distortion
Many anti-islanding methods have been developed and tested in pratice. Generally, it seems to be possible to include effective and reliable anti-islanding methods in the PV inverter However, it is difficult to detect islanding phenomenon in the case of multiple systems in the same distribution line. In this paper, the islanding possibility of distributed PV generation system is analyzed and discussed to detect islanding phenomenon.

Islanding in a gird connected inverter of wind power generation system may influence a bad effect on equipments or yield safety hazards on grid so it should be detected rapidly and exactly. A passive method to detect islanding is comparatively simpler than an active method but suffers from non detection zone (NDZ). On the other hand, the active method can significantly reduce NDZ by injecting a disturbance into inverter output. To improve the reliability of islanding detection, this paper proposes a hybrid anti-islanding detection method combining the conventional passive method as well as the active method based on novel harmonic injection method using fourier transform. The proposed scheme is fast to detect islanding when NDZ does not exist because it has the nature of passive method. Under NDZ, the active method can detect occurrence of islanding reliably. The effectiveness and validity of the proposed scheme is proved through comparative simulations.

Recently, the study of islanding phenomenon, maintains its operation even when the utility grid is removed has lead to the trend of utility interactive inverters in photovoltaic generation systems. In this paper, a novel Anti-islanding method is presented. the proposed method can keep the real average power component constant by MPPT control and cause the load current frequency with only change of reactive power component under the islanding condition. its periodical change of Reactive power component can decrease the NDZ(Non-Detective zone) so that the detection of various loads will be possible. the insufficient effect if additional reactive power component to the grid is proved theoretically and the islanding detection is also confirmed from a experimental result with a inverter for 3kW photovoltaic generation system applied the proposed Anti-islanding method.

This paper presents an improved anti-islanding algorithm for utility interconnection of multiple distributed fuel cell powered generations (DFPGs). A cross-correlation method is proposed and implemented in conjunction with the anti-islanding algorithm developed in the previous work [I]. While the power control algorithm continuously perturbs $({\pm}5%)$ the reactive power supplied by the DFPG, the proposed algorithm calculates the cross-correlation index of a rate of change of the frequency deviation with respect to $({\pm}5%)$ the reactive power to confirm islanding. If this index is above 50%, the algorithm further initiates $({\pm}10%)$ the reactive power perturbation and continues to calculate the correlation index. If the index exceeds 80%, the occurrence of islanding can be confirmed. The proposed method is robust and capable of detecting the occurrence of islanding in the presence of several DFPGs, which are independently operating. Viability of the cross-correlation method is verified by the simulation. Experimental results are presented to support the findings of the proposed method.
