The Polarization of Wealth: The Effect of Support of Knowledge Management on Knowledge Management Activity and Company Performance

  • This study attempts to verify effects of CEO' supports, compensation and educational training and those of individual annual salaries and company's sales on promotion of knowledge management expected to contribute to enhancing construction industry's competitiveness, from the perspective of person-organization fit. For the analysis, a total of 368 effective questionnaires were used to conduct independent sample t-test, regression analysis and hierarchical moderated regression analysis. The findings show that individual annual salaries have a positive relationship with company's performance and company's sales also have positive relationships with both knowledge management activities and company performance, and CEO's supports, compensation and educational training are important factors that can improve knowledge management activities. In addition, the principle that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is also operated in construction industry, as in other industries. Therefore, members in a company should conduct optimal strategies to enhance the knowledge management activities through selection and concentration, while governmental agencies require the establishment of IT system for it and supports for related cost and consulting of it.

Spillovers of Education and Job Training in Bringing Sustainable Economic Development in Pakistan: The Role of Research and Development Revisited

  • Current research intended to measure the spillovers of education and on-the-job training to enhance sustainable economic development. Consideration of research and development expenditures for on-the-job training expands the impact of education and, thus, may provide spillovers for Pakistan's economic growth. The primary focus of this research is to look at the combined impact of education and research and development spending as value-added variables for sustainable growth. The econometric study uses data from a variety of sources, including the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Pakistan Economic Survey, and world development indices. The secondary annual time series data from 1976 to 2019 are analyzed. To adequately estimate the empirical model, ARDL has been used while the presence of the unit root has been tested using the ADF test. The findings show that education, research, and development all contribute to all-inclusive, sustainable economic growth. Labor and capital, among other traditional components, continue to be the backbone of the development process. Still, the spillover effect is much enhanced with the expansion in education and the on-job training in the form of research and development expenditures. Consequently, the introduction of research and development in education will lead to a sustainable and inclusive economy.

해양오염방지관리인 교육의 현황과 전망 I. 선박 오염방지관리인 교육 (The Present State and Future Prospect of the Education for Marine Pollution Prevention Manager in Korea I. Marine Pollution Prevention Manager on Board Ship)

  • 국내에서는 해양오염을 예방하기 위하여 해양오염방지관리인 제도를 운영하고 있다. 국적 선박의 증가와 해양환경관리법의 시행으로 인하여 선박 오염방지관리인 교육 제도에 변화가 예상된다. 2011년부터는 해양오염방지관리인 교육과정을 해양환경관리공단에서 운영하기 때문에 교육 수요에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하여 교육계획을 수립하여야 한다. 선박 해양오염방지관리인의 교육 현황을 알아보고 교육수요에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 주요요인을 분석하였다. 현재 한국해양수산연수원에서 시행하고 있는 선박 해양오염방지관리인 교육과정은 정규과정의 경우 3일간 21시간, 재교육의 경우 2일간 18시간, 유해액체물질 교육의 경우 2일간 17시간 교육하고 있다. 2008년의 연간 교육생 숫자는 정규과정의 경우 516명, 재교육과정의 경우 1085명, 유해액체물질 교육과정의 경우 135명이었다. 선박의 증가율이 선박의 해양오염방지관리인수에 영향을 미치는 주요변수로 나타남에 따라 연도별 예상선박발주량을 근거로 선박의 오염방지관리인수를 전망하였으나, 해운시황 변화, 조선 산업 변동 등의 주요요인에 따라 크게 변할 수 있다.

  • 급변하고 있는 의료환경에서 전공의에게 양질의 수련을 제공하기 위해 연차별 수련교과과정을 역량 중심으로 개선하고, 수련병원이 수련에 적합한 환경을 유지하도록 하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 대한영상의학회는 그동안 수련체계 개선을 꾸준히 진행해 왔고, 전공의 역량평가와 지도전문의의 내용을 강화하여 역량 중심 전공의 수련체계 개선을 제시하였다. 현재 대한 영상의학회는 2021년 7월 제2차 연차별 수련교과과정 체계화 구축 사업에 선정되어 구축 사업을 추진하고 있으며, 구축 사업에서 요구하는 위임가능 전문직무와 핵심역량 평가항목 및 평가 가이드라인을 개발하였다. 이에 대한 개발과정과 평가항목 및 평가 가이드라인을 소개하여 전공의와 지도전문의들에게 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

보육교사의 영유아 구강보건행태에 대한 조사 (A survey on childcare teachers' practice about preschool children oral health promotion)

  • Objectives : This study was to collect data about oral health to develop preschool children' oral health program. Methods : This research was from July 20th to August 20th, 2008 with self-administrated questionnaires by post and e-mail. The response rate was 57.6%(144 of 250). Results : 1. Daycare center provided fruit(64.6%), bread(56.9%), milk(82.6%), yoghurt(47.9%). daycare center tend to provide cariogenic snacks and drinks such as bread, yoghurt. 2. 73.6% of teachers said they reward children with sweets for good behavior. 3. Activities related to oral health was done in daycare center were : children brush their teeth with fluoride toothpaste(79.9%), catering staff receive the education about nutrition(79.2%), children participate in the activities and training related to food(78.5%), using sugary food at a birthday party(77.3%), annual dental health check-up by a dentist(65.3%). 4. The percentages of guiding principles based on documentation in the topic of the oral health were : coping with a situation where a child injured his or her teeth(76.4%), annual dental health checkup by a dentist(72.2%), teachers supervise children's tooth brushing using a fluoride toothpaste(70.8%). 5. Documented guide or course for oral health includes the following; training for coping with tooth damage(76.4%), annual dental health check-up(72.2%), and coaching children to brush their teeth with toothpaste that contains fluoride(70.8%). Conclusions : It is believed that for better children's oral healthcare, childcare teacher should be given a range of in-depth oral health program. Furthermore, through detailed analysis on the documented guide of oral health, cooperation from the associated organization will be required to have the guide placed at the childcare center.

Breaking the Gender Gap: A Two-part Observational Study of the Gender Disparity Among Korean Academic Emergency Physicians

  • Objectives: Despite greater access to training positions and the presence of more women in emergency medicine, it has remained a men-dominated field. This study aims to identify the key issues causing the gender gap in Korea and establish measures to overcome them. Methods: Using the annual statistical reports of the National Emergency Medical Center and data published on the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine website, cases that listed the current status and positions of members in its organization and its committees were analyzed. Secondary analysis was conducted using data from the 2015 Korean Society of Emergency Survey that included physicians' demographics, academic ranking, years of experience, clinical work hours, training and board certification, core faculty status, position, and salaries. Results: As of September 2019, women account for only 12.7% of the total number of emergency physicians (EP) in Korea; of 119 chair/vice-chair academic positions, women represented only 9.2%. Women EP were more often assistant professors and fellowship-trained, with fewer in core faculty. However, they worked the same numbers of clinical hours as their men counterparts. The median annual salary of women EP was less than that of men EP after adjusting for academic hospital rank, clinical hours, and core faculty status. Conclusions: A gender gap still exists among Korean EP, and women earn less than men regardless of their rank, clinical hours, or training. Future studies should evaluate more data and develop system-wide practices to eliminate gender disparities.

Assessing the Extent and Rate of Deforestation in the Mountainous Tropical Forest

  • Landsat data incorporated with additional bands-normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and band ratios were used to assess the extent and rate of deforestation in the Gunung Mutis Nature Reserve (GMNR), a mountainous tropical forest in Eastern of Indonesia. Hybrid classification was chosen as the classification approach. In this approach, the unsupervised classification-iterative self-organizing data analysis (ISODATA) was used to create signature files and training data set. A statistical separability measurement-transformed divergence (TD) was used to identify the combination of bands that showed the highest distinction between the land cover classes in training data set. Supervised classification-maximum likelihood classification (MLC) was performed using selected bands and the training data set. Post-classification smoothing and accuracy assessment were applied to classified image. Post-classification comparison was used to assess the extent of deforestation, of which the rate of deforestation was calculated by the formula suggested by Food Agriculture Organization (FAO). The results of two periods of deforestation assessment showed that the extent of deforestation during 1989-1999 was 720.72 ha, 0.80% of annual rate of deforestation, and its extent of deforestation during 1999-2009 was 1,059.12 ha, 1.31% of annual rate of deforestation. Such results are important for the GMNR authority to establish strategies, plans and actions for combating deforestation.

  • 해양시설의 다양화, 해양환경관리업의 활성화, 해양환경관리법의 시행 둥으로 인하여 해양오염방지관리인 교육 제도에도 변화가 예상된다. 2011년부터는 해양오염방지관리인 교육과정을 해양환경관리공단에서 운영하기 때문에 교육 수요에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하여 교육계획을 수립하여야 한다. 해양시설 해양오염방지관리인의 교육수요에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 주요요인을 살펴본 결과, 해양시설의 증가 및 해양환경관리업의 성장이 해양시설 해양오염방지관리인 교육생수에 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

3주간의 고지대 스키훈련이 크로스컨트리 스키 선수의 등속성 근기능에 미치는 영향 (The effect of 3 weeks high altitude skiing training on isokinetic muscle function of cross-country skierst)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 3주간의 고지대 스키 트레이닝이 크로스컨트리 스키 선수의 근기능에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 향후 크로스컨트리 스키 선수들의 근기능 향상 및 과학적 훈련프로그램 구성을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 연구대상자는 크로스컨트리 스키 남자 대학 선수 6명을 대상으로 실시하였으며, 주기별과 고지대 트레이닝이 크로스컨트리 스키 선수들에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여 일반선형모델 반복측정(General Linear Model ANOVA with repeated measure)과 대응표본 t 검정(Paired Samples t-test)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 고지대 스키 트레이닝을 3주간 실시한 결과 신체조성은 변화가 나타나지 않았지만, 어깨관절, 허리관절, 무릎관절, 발목관절의 등속성 근기능이 감소되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 SP기간과 같은 스키 트레이닝 기간 중에도 지속적인 근력훈련을 실시하여야 할 것으로 사료되면 이에 대한 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

한국형 디지털 핵심 실무인재양성훈련 프로그램의 성과 분석 (Performance Analysis of Korean Digital Key Practical Talent Training Program)

  • 본 논문에서는 2022년 노동부 지원 한국형 디지털 핵심 인재 양성 사업(K-Digital Training) 운영이 2021년 시작되어 2022년 하반기 공모를 거쳐 403개의 훈련과정을 통해 연간 훈련 인원 3.3만명을 확보하고 있다. 이에 디지털 인재양성으로 미래산업변화에 발빠르게 대응하겠다는 국가주도 인재양성 프로그램의 분야별 학습 만족도에 대한 성과 분석결과 프로그램 전반적인 만족도는 평균 4.27로 매우 높다. 그러나 취업연계에 대한 초기 기대는 4.2에서 학습 종료시점 3.91로 낮아지고 있다. 따라서 프로그램에 참여하는 기관의 취업연계를 위한 사전 준비가 되어 있어야 지속적인 프로그램의 만족도를 향상할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
