From the ethereal extract of the roots of Angelica koreana Max. (Umbelliferae) two furanocoumarins such as isooxypeucedanin and oxypeucedanin methanolate were newly isolated together with isoimperatorin, osthol, imperatorin, bergapten, oxypeucedanin and ${\beta}-sitosterol$.

Essential oil of the root of Angelica koreana Max. (Umbelliferae) was investigated. Essential oil was obtained from the dried roots by steam distillation and fractionated by column chromatography. Each isolate or fraction was identified by GC, GC-MS and spectral analysis. It was found to contain nine monoterpenes such as ${\alpha}-pinene$(7.0%), camphene, ${\beta}-pinene$, myrcene, ${\alpha}-phellandrene$, ${\Delta}-3-carene$, p-cymene, limonene(2.8%), terpinolene and also found to contain m-cresol(11.6%), citronellol, citral b, methylcinnamate, eudesmol and osthol. 2-Hydroxy-5-methylacetophenone and twelve compounds were tentatively identified.

식용 또는 약용으로 그 이용가치를 충분히 가지고 있는 강활의 미숙화서, 줄기, 그리고 엽병으로부터 캘러스 유도와 식물체 발생에 관하여 실험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 캘러스 유도와 증식정도는 미숙화서를 2,4-D 2mg/l 첨가배지에 치상했을 때 가장 양호하였 다. 2. 2,4-D 1mg/l와 2mg/l 첨가배지에서 미숙화서로부터 유도된 담황색의 유연한 캘러스 표면에 희고 단단한 embryogenic 캘러스가 발생하였고, 그외 배지에서는 발생하지 않았다. 3. 줄기 발생은 2,4-D 0.1mg/l와 Kinetin 1mg/l 그리고 2,4-D 0.5mg/l와 Kinetin 2mg/l를 각각 조합한 배지에서 가장 효율적이었다. 4. 캘러스 유도와 식물체 재생에 가장 적합한 재료는 미숙화서라 생각된다.

A study on the effects of the root components of Angelica koreana Max. on voluntary activity in mice has confirmed that: 1. MeOH soluble Ex., MeOH insoluble Ex., oxypucedanine and isoimperatorin were antagonized against the voluntary activity in mice pretreated with a dose of C.N.B. 30mg/kg. 2. MeOH insoluble Ex. showed higher depressant effect than MeOH soluble Ex.. 3. the depressant activity of oxypucedanine was significantly more effective than that of isoimperatorin.

To investigate biological active constituents from natural products, we have studied the roots of Angelica koreana Max. (Umbelliferae). Fifteen compounds were isolated from the MeOH extract by column chromatography on a silica gel. The compounds were identified as isoimperatorin, oxypeucedanin, oxypeucedanin hydrate, osthol, nodakenin, 2-hydroxy-4-methylacetophenone, cimifugin, falcarindiol, heraclenin, pabulenol, umbelliferone, demethylsuberosin, hamaudol, sec-O-glucosylhamaudol, and prim-O-glucosylcimifugin, respectivelv, by spectroscopic means. Among these, the latter eight compounds were isolated for the first time form this plant.

본 시험은 최근에 경북 북부지역을 중심으로 면적이 증가하고 있는 강활재배에서 노두로 번식되고 있는 북강활을 중심으로 피복재료에 따른 추대반응과 생육특성을 분석하여 재배기술 체계를 확립코자 수행한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 토양 피복재료별 오전 10시의 지온은 무피복구에 비해 흑색P.E피복구와 투명P.E피복구가 각각 0.5, $2.9^{\circ}C$ 높았고, 오후 2시의 지온은 각각 0.8, $4.8^{\circ}C$ 높았으며, 볏짚피복구는 무피복구에 비해 지온이 낮았다. 2. 추대율은 무피복구 및 볏짚피복구에 비해 투명P.E피복구와 흑색P.E피복구구는 각각 11.4, 13.6%로 유의하게 높았고, 개화기는 투명P.E피복구와 무피복구에서 빨랐으며, 화경장과 화경수는 피복재료에 따른 차이가 없었다. 3. 근생엽장은 흑색P.E피복구가 가장 길었고 다음이 투명P.E피복구이며, 엽수 및 노두수는 흑색P.E피복구에서 가장 많았다. 지하부의 건근수량은 흑색P.E피복구에서 가장 높았고 다음이 투명P.E피복구이며 벗짚피복구과 무피복구가 가장 낮았다. 토양 피복재료별 잡초발생은 무피복구와 투명P.E피복구에서 많았고, 흑색P.E피복구에서 가장 적었다. 강활재배에 있어서 흑색P.E피복이 추대율을 다소 증가시키는 반면 잡초방제와 수량 증대에 가장 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Isoimperatorin and Oxypeucedanin isolated from root of Angelica Koreana Max. (Umbelliferae) that is used as "Kang-Whal" a botanical drug, in Korea, Show following general pharmacologic activities. The treatment with Oxypeucedanin on the exercised duodenum of the rabbit increased the motility of it while isoimperatorin shows little effects. But on the exercised heart of the frogs, both components depressed its contractility. Whereas Oxypeucedanin depressed both blood pressure of the carotied artery and respiration of the rabbit, Isoimperatorin tends to increase blood pressure, respiration and the tonus of the muscle of the earth worm. Oxypeucedanin did not affect the tonus of the muscles of the earth worm, but depressed the uterus contraction of the rabbit, which was, on the contrary, increased by Isoimperatorin.
