Effects of the gold nanoparticles including different thiol functional groups on the performances of glucose-oxidase-based glucose sensing devices

  • Thiol-based self-assembled anchor linked to glucose oxidase (GOx) and gold nanoparticle (GNP) cluster is suggested to enhance the performance of glucose biosensor. By the adoption of thiol-based anchors, the activity of biocatalyst consisting of GOx, GNP, polyethyleneimine (PEI) and carbon nanotube (CNT) is improved because they play a crucial role in preventing the leaching out of GOx. They also promote electron collection and transfer, and this is due to a strong hydrophobic interaction between the active site of GOx and the aromatic ring of anchor, while the effect is optimized with the use of thiophenol anchor due to its simple configuration. Based on that, it is quantified that by the adoption of thiophenol as anchor, the current density of flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) redox reaction increases about 42%, electron transfer rate constant ($k_s$) is $9.1{\pm}0.1s^{-1}$ and the value is 26% higher than that of catalyst that does not use the anchor structure.

고속철도 콘크리트 궤도 매립전 내 침투수의 결빙압에 의한 균열손상해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Concrete Railway Sleeper Damaged by Freezing Force of Water Penetrated into the Inserts)

  • 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 궤도 침목 내에 설치되는 인서트에 예기치 못하게 침투된 수분의 결빙압이 앵커볼트의 인발강도에 미치는 영향을 유한요소해석을 통해 고찰하였다. 3차원 유한요소해석모델은 콘크리트 침목의 현장실험 결과, 도면 및 레일체결장치의 제원 실측치를 기반으로 수립되었으며, 비선형구성방정식과 파괴 모델은 측정된 압축강도로부터 CEB-FIP 1990 모델코드를 이용하여 추정하였다. 해석모델의 적정성은 철도기술연구원에서 수행한 현장 인발시험 결과 및 실내시험 결과와의 비교를 통해 확인하였다. 다양한 인자, 즉 결빙위치, 앵커볼트 초기 체결력의 크기 및 콘크리트 압축강도에 따른 해석을 수행하였으며, 그 결과를 제시하였다. 해석결과에 의하면, 매립전내 침투수의 결빙력은 균열손상의 가장 가능성 있는 직접적인 원인 중 하나로 간주될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 외측매립전의 결빙력이 내측 매립전 보다 작은 것으로 나타났으나 그 차이는 크지 않았다.

현장인발시험을 통한 Screw Anchor Pile의 인발저항특성 (Pullout Capacity of Screw Anchor Piles Using Field Pull-out Tests)

  • 본 논문에서는 현장인발재하시험을 통한 스크류 앵커 파일의 인발 저항 특성에 관한 연구내용을 제시하였다. 현장시험에서는 동일한 피치를 가지나 샤프트나 스크류 직경이 다른 스크류 앵커 파일에 대해 다양한 시공조건을 도출하고 이에 대한 시험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 스크류 앵커 파일은 스크류가 없는 파일에 비해 현저히 큰 인발저항력을 발휘하는 것으로 검토되었으며 시간경과 효과와 그라우팅 여부에 따른 검토 결과 일반 파일과 유사하게 시간경과에 따라 인발저항력이 증가하는 셋업효과와 그라우팅시 인발저항력 상승효과를 기대할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 이와 아울러 기존의 헬리컬 파일의 인발저항력 산정식을 스크류 앵커 파일의 인발저항력 평가에 있어서의 적용성을 검토하였으며 현장인발재하 시험결과를 다양한 측면에서의 상관관계를 파악할 수 있도록 제시하고 연구결과의 실무적 관점에서의 검토 내용을 기술하였다.

Development of an ACL Anchor: Effects of the Design Parameters on the Performance of a New Anterior Cruciate Ligament Fixation Device

  • We investigated the biomechanical properties of a newly designed self-expansion type anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) anchor. The ACL anchor consists of the ring section giving the elastic force, the wedge for maintaining in contact with the femur tunnel wall and the link suspending hamstring graft or artificial ligament. The main design parameters that determine the performance of this device were the expansion angle (${\theta}$) and the thickness ($t_R$). The Ti6Al4V anchors were heated after inserting in a jig for 1 hour at $800^{\circ}C$ in a protective argon gas atmosphere and allowed to cool to room temperature in the furnace. In order to investigate the influence of the expansion angle and the thickness of the ring on the biomechanical properties of the anchor, the maximum pull-out load, stiffness and slippage of the ACL anchor were measured using the pull-out tester, and statistical analyses were also executed. The present results showed that the design parameters gave a significant effect on the performance of the self- expansion type of anchor. The pull-out load of the ACL anchors significantly increased as the thickness of the ring section was increased, having a similar trend for both expansion angles. The ACL anchor showed about 2.5 times higher values of the pull-out load than that of the minimum load (500N)required for the "accelerated rehabilitation". The optimum ${\theta}$ and $t_R$ values of this ACL anchor were suggested to have sufficient resistance against the pull-out force, high stiffness and relatively low slippage after ACL reconstruction.

LCA를 이용한 확공지압형 앵커와 일반 앵커의 환경영향 특성 비교분석 (Comparison Analysis of the Environmental Impact of VSL Anchors and RBanchors Using a Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA))

  • 본 연구에서는 일반 앵커와 확공지압형 앵커 시스템에 대하여 전과정평가(LCA)를 수행하고 환경영향 특성을 분석하였다. 또한, 평가결과를 비교 분석하여 개발된 확공지압형 앵커 시스템의 환경저감 개선효과를 확인하였다. 환경영향범주별 기여도 분석결과, 두 앵커 시스템 모두 지구온난화가 대부분을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 개발된 확공지압형 앵커 시스템의 환경저감효과를 확인하기 위해 환경영향범주에 대한 정규화 결과, 모든 항목에서 확공지압형 앵커 시스템의 환경성이 개선된 것으로 나타났으며, 광화학 산화물 생성분야가 77%로 가장 크게 개선되었다. 최근 지구온난화와 관련하여 전세계적으로 관심이 고조되고 있는 온실가스 배출량은 약 44% 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 정량적인 환경영향평가 결과는 향후 토목분야 영구앵커 공법에 대한 환경영향평가시 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

묘박중 해저 저질에 따른 파주력 특성 (Characteristic of holding power due to nature of seabed at anchor)

  • In general, a high tension on the anchor and chain is placed when a ship at anchor is subjected to heavy weather. Mariners have to pay attention to whether dragging anchor occurs to keep the safety of the ship at anchorage since it is difficult to maintain the stable motion of ship and it causes collisions with other ships nearby. In this paper, the ship motion against the external forces was shown to obtain the fundamental data about characteristic of holding power due to nature of seabed at anchor, so practical trials were carried out in rocky area and muddy area using a trial ship around coastal area of South Korea. In muddy seabed, holding power showed reasonable tension values depending on the distance from anchor position of continuing swing motions of a ship corresponding to wind force. Meanwhile in rocky seabed, tension values on the chain appeared very high occasionally regardless of the distance from the anchor position and seemed to exceed its holding power to be the breaking strain of the chain although weather was not in a severe condition. Therefore, some of the cables laid on the seabed were presumed to be caught in a crack on the rock. It is assumed that even a small amount of external force may cause the chain to break in a moment in rocky seabed. Additionally, wind and current forces had a somewhat contradictory effect on holding power of the ship between them.

  • 판앵커들은 각종 해양공사와 해양구조물의 유지관리작업에 빈번히 사용되고 있다. 판앵커가 연약한 점토에 근입되었을 때 지속적인 허용하중을 받게 되면 Creep현상이 발생될 수도 있다. 본 논문은 얕은 원형앵커가 순극한 상향인발력보다 작은 순하중을 지속적으로 받았을 때 시간이 경과함에 따라 발생되는 크리프효과를 연구한 실내모델실험 결과를 기술하였다. 실내모델시험 결과를 바탕으로 순하중과 상향변위율 및 경과시간사이의 상관관계식을 제시하였다.

  • This study concerns crack effect on concrete anchor system and prediction of tensile capacity, as governed by concrete cone failure, of single anchors located at center of concrete specimen. To Investigate crack effect three different types of crack such as crack width of 0.2mm and 0.5nm, crack depth of loom and 20cm, and crack location of center and biased point were simulated. The static tensile load was subjected to 7/8 in. CIP anchor embedded in concrete of strength 280kg/$cm^{2}$. Tested pullout capacity was compared to prediction value by each current design method (such as ACI 349-97, ACI 349 revision and CEB-FIP which is based on CC Method), In these comparison CC Method and ACI revision showed almost same value in uncracked concrete specimen, however in cracked concrete CC Method showed conservativeness. Therefore the design by ACI 349 revision is recommended for the safe and economic design.

  • A research on the performance of retrofit anchors was conducted using adhesives for rehabilitation. From the pull-out tests of the chemical anchors, the effect of the hole diameter, spacer, temperature, moisture, embedment depth, and aging time were investigated. The spacer did not directly increased the pull-out load hilt increased post-yielding resistance therefore the ductility of the retrofit anchors. When the hole was cleaned and dried after the immersion, the pull-out load was greatly increased compared to the wet hole. A design equation was unposed depending on the embedment depth of the anchor bolt.

  • This study was carried out to suggest the effective reinforcing method which can evaluate the tensile capacity of cast-in-place anchor with cracks. Currently, cast-in-place anchor is used widely for the fastening of equipment in Korean NPPs. 26 test specimens with a single anchor under 4 cracked conditions are prepared using plain concrete. The distance between crack and anchor and reinforcing materials were selected as the main test variable. The tensile force was applied using a actuator with a capacity of 100 tonf using a displacement control method of 0.5 mm/min velocity. Test results from this result show the combination of carbon plate and epoxy will be more available for repair and reinforcement of equipment foundation system in NPPs. Further experimental work is indeed involving the epoxy injection effect and adjustment of reinforcing location of carbon sheet.
