A survey was conducted on the current status of the domestic transportation market with transportation companies and consignment owners, and the perceptions between the two were compared and analyzed. Overall, satisfaction with the consignment system was in the order of transportation companies handling supplies, transportation companies that did not pay supplies, consignment owners belonging to supply companies, and consignment orders belonging to non-volume companies. Similar results were obtained in individual questions. In order for transport companies and consignment owners to coexist and develop in the freight car transport market, it will be necessary to prepare a strategy to increase the satisfaction of consignment owners belonging to transport companies that do not handle relatively low-satisfaction.

Design/methodology/approach - To improve the level of contribution of the study, an empirical analysis is necessary. However, due to limited data access, the study will approach the topic of trade relations between Korea and the MERCOSUR with various statistics and literature. Findings - First, there is an urgent need for changes in import-export goods between Korea and the MERCOSUR, as trade is focused on specific items. Second, although foreign direct investment from Korea to the MERCOSUR is centered in manufacturing and mining industries, there should be different investment strategies by countries and industries. Third, it is necessary to reinforce commercial cooperation. Korea currently has Free Trade Agreements with Chile, Peru, and Columbia, but not with MERCOSUR. Therefore, Korea must take active measures to sign an TA with MERCOSUR, which has been put on hold. Research implications or Originality - Latin America has the most thriving market when it comes to Free Trade Agreements worldwide. MERCOSUR is a South American Trade Bloc established by the Treaty of Asunción in 1991 and Protocol of Ouro Preto in 1994. Its full members are Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. However, there is still a lack of research on the MERCOSUR, and corporations that aim to enter the Latin American market face difficulties due to lack of information. By investigating MERCOSUR and its prospects and analyzing the trade relations with Korea, this study will provide strategic measures for corporations that wish to enter the Latin American market.

  • This research paper aims to inform and suggest methods in which Korea Media content could successfully enter the African broadcasting market. It also seeks to suggest preparatory steps and propose various policies that Korean government could provide, to aid the export process. In order to maximize the Korean media content exposure in the Kenyan market, increased financial support for subtitles and dubbing as well as launching a Korean culture center is suggested. In addition, to encourage more diverse channels to show the Korean content, joint content production between Korea and Kenya should be considered. Moreover, in analyzing the social, cultural, ethnic and local characteristics of the Kenyan people, the paper seeks to identify the most efficient method in which Korean wave could be more widespread in Kenya. • This study is mainly aimed at analyzing the influence of the divergency(mispricing) between KOSPI 200 theoretical prices and its real prices of KOSPI 200 spot index, considering the existence of arbitrage opportunity from the mispricing. The data in this study are the daily prices of 1262 days, from 3 May 1996 to 14 December 2000. The results of our empirical study represent that the real prices in KOSPI 200 Stock Index Futures are continuously undervalued relative to their corresponding theoretical prices. Our study reconfirms the results from previous studies conducted at the domestic and overseas markets. We conclude that the undervaluation, especially in the market opening period, could come from fear of investors, whose experiences in the stock index futures market are limited, chiefly because of loss and uncertainty of prediction toward interest rates and dividends. Our study also represents that KOSPI 200 index shows more volatilities during days with mispricing relative to days without mispricing.

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze the international marketing strategies of domestic medical institutions in the international medical market, and to determine whether such strategies increase international market share. With this approach, this study examines the impact of international marketing and social capital on international management performance through global competency and national image. It is hoped that this study can provide some insight on international marketing strategies. Design/methodology - In order to verify the research hypotheses, this study investigates medical institutions based in Incheon, Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, which provides medical services for foreigners. The target population is medical staff and interpreters in charge of administrative work, and a total of 194 copies were collected for 30 days. Of the collected questionnaires, a total of 171 copies were chosen for final analysis, excluding questionnaires with lack of information. Structural equations were used for analyzing the data by employing the R program. Findings - Our analysis suggests that international marketing and global competency performance have an effect on management performance. However, social capital appears to have no effect on global competency and management performance. Originality/value - Given the lack of research on international medical institutions, this study can be useful in the sense that it can help companies improve international marketing performance. Further, global competency was empirically proved to have a strong mediating effect that enhances total effect, while playing a mediating role between international marketing activities and management performance. This study is of great academic value in that it has comprehensively reviewed and systematized existing studies, and conducted empirical studies in the absence of domestic studies.

  • IPTV was introduced as the new growth engine of the broadcasting and telecommunications industry and has experienced a high growth rate as its subscribers exceeded 2 million in early 2010. However there have been some doubts on if the IPTV market will keep current growth drift. One of such suspicions is that IPTV market has not been developed by the competitiveness of IPTV industry itself. In addition, the recent slowdown of subscribers' growth and IPTV players' operating at a loss has been suggested as obstacles to the IPTV market growth. This sort of phenomenon has been brought about by ambiguous proposition of IPTV's own value as well as IPTV service positioning gap. To resolve these problems this study empirically investigates what customers want to get from IPTV service by analyzing switching value of IPTV subscribers. This study also identifies which values must be strategically considered to develop next generation IPTV services, in particular mobile IPTV services. Following the investigation, this study analyzes the possible positioning gap of mobile IPTV. Through this analysis, this study suggests which sort of service values need to be reconciled.
