서지전류에 대한 과도접지임피던스의 특성 (Characteristics of Transient Grounding Impedance under Surge Currents)

  • The transient characteristics of grounding systems play a major role in the protection of power equipments, electronic circuits and info-communication facilities against surges which arise from lightning or ground faults. Electronic devices are very weak against lightning surges injected from grounding systems and can be damaged. The malfunction and damage of electronic circuits bring about bad operation performances, a lot of economical losses, and etc. Therefore, in order to obtain the effective protection measure of electronic devices from overvoltages and lightning surges, the analysis of the transient grounding impedances in essential. One of this work is to examine the transient behaviors of grounding impedances under steplike currents for various grounding systems. And the other of this work is to evaluate the transient behaviors of a grid with rods under impulse currents and to investigate the effect of grounding lead wire. Transient grounding impedances of a grid with rods under impulse current waves have been measured as a parameter of the length of the grounding leads. Z-t, Z-i and V-i curves of transient grounding impedance under impulse current waveforms have been measured and analyzed. It was found that the grounding impedance gives the inductive, resistive and capacitive aspects under steplike current. Transient grounding impedance characteristics were very different with shapes, geometries of ground electrodes. Also, they were dependent on the waveform and magnitude of impulse current.

  • Noise is a problem in many electronic circuits and active control system. Arising from spuriously coupled noise from other circuits, it corrupts the signal of interest and introduces an uncertainty into information it contains. In this paper, re have researched noise characteristics of the inductive displacement sensor which has been designed. n first present basic concept and characteristics of magnetic field-coupled noise in the sensor output signal. Then, n are present relation noise and sensor performances. Finally, we concentrate low noise design of a sensor driver and a signal detection circuit.

Analysis of Electromigration in Nanoscale CMOS Circuits

  • As CMOS technology is scaled down more aggressively, the reliability mechanism (or aging effect) caused by the diffusion of metal atoms along the conductor in the direction of the electron flow, also called electromigration (EM), has become a major reliability concern. With the present of EM, it is difficult to control the current flows of the MOSFET device and interconnect. In addition, nanoscale CMOS circuits suffer from increased gate leakage current and power consumption. In this paper, the EM effects on current of the nanoscale CMOS circuits are analyzed. Finally, this paper introduces an on-chip current measurement method providing lifetime electromigration management which are designed using 45-nm CMOS predictive technology model.

An Analysis of the Limit Cycle Oscillation in Digital PID Controlled DC-DC Converters

  • Due to the wide use of electronic products, digitally controlled DC-DC converters are attracting more and more attention in recent years. However, digital control strategies may introduce undesirable Limit Cycle Oscillation (LCO) due to quantization effects in the Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) and Digital Pulse Width Modulator (DPWM). This results in decreases in the quality of the output voltage and the efficiency of the system. Meanwhile, even if the resolution of the DPWM is finer than that of the ADC, LCO may still exist due to improper parameters of the digital compensator. In order to discover how LCO is generated, the state space averaging model is applied to derive equilibrium equations of a digital PID controlled DC-DC converter in this paper. Furthermore, the influences of the parameters of the digital PID compensator, and the resolutions of the ADC and DPWM on LCO are studied in detail. The amplitude together with the period of LCO as well as the corresponding PID parameters are obtained. Finally, MATLAB/Simulink simulations and FPGA verifications are carried out and no-LCO conditions are obtained.

  • This paper presents a hardware development procedure of the ASB(Active Seat Belt) control system to comply with ISO 26262. The ASIL(Automotive Safety Integrity Level) of an ASB system is determined through the HARA(Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) and the safety mechanism is applied to meet the reqired ASIL. The hardware architecture of the controller consists of a microcontroller, H-bridge circuits, passive components, and current sensors which are used for the input comparison. The required ASIL for the control systems is shown to be satisfied with the safety mechanism by calculation of the SPFM(Single Point Fault Metric) and the LFM(Latent Fault Metric) for the design circuits.

ActiveX 컨트롤을 이용한 단순화된 웹 기반 디지털 논리회로 시뮬레이터 (A Simplified Web-based Simulator for Digital Logic Circuits Using ActiveX Control)

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털논리회로의 여러 가지 원리를 이해하고 확인해보기 위해 비주얼베이직의 ActiveX 컨트롤을 이용하여 단순화된 웹 기반 디지털 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 개발된 디지털시뮬레이터는 디지털 논리회로 학습에 있어 필수적인 기능만이 구현되었으며, 학습자가 스스로 구성한 디지털 회로를 직접 웹상에서 시뮬레이션 해 봄으로써 디지털시스템에 대한 설계 및 해석이 가능하도록 제작되었다. 개발된 디지털 시뮬레이터가 디지털 논리회로에 대한 멀티미디어 컨텐츠와 함께 웹에 제공된다면 교육현장에서 교육보조도구로써 활용이 가능하고 또한 학습효율의 극대화를 이를 수 있으리라 생각된다. 제안된 시뮬레이터의 유효성을 입증하기 위해 몇 가지 디지털 논리회로에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과를 제시하였다.

  • Comparative analysis of driving inverters for piezo-electric transformer (PT) is performed and the suit- able drive circuit for portable devices such as personal digital assistants (PDA) is chosen with the experiment in this paper. As a result, a single-switch inverter with a small two winding reactor is chosen, and then the advantages of this method are clarified. It is also confirmed that the driving inverter with this method enables to realize a stabilized AC 400v output and 82% power efficiency from DC 3V input under the conditions of the variations of load current or input voltage from the experiments.   • We investigated the degradation of $In_2O_3-Ga_2O_3$-ZnO (IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs), which is promising device for driving circuits of nextgeneration displays. We performed the electronic stress test by applying gate and drain voltage. We discussed the degradation mechanism by thermal analysis and device simulation.

  • High aspect ration via-hole etching process has emerged as one of the most crucial means to increase component density for ULSI devices. Because of charge accumulation in via hole, this sophisticated and important process still hold several problems, such as etching stop, loading effects during fabrication of integrated circuits. Indeed, the concern actually depends on accumulated charge. For monitoring accumulated charge during plasma etching process, charge-up monitoring sensor was fabricated and tested under some plasma conditions. This paper presents a neural network-based technique for analyzing and modeling several electrical performance of plasma charge-up monitoring sensor.

  • 전자 회로의 집적도와 동작 주파수가 증가함에 따라 신호 전달 특성을 향상시키는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 인쇄 회로 기판에서 패드의 곡률 변화에 따른 신호 전달 특성을 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 곡률이 커질수록 신호 전달 특성은 개선되었고, 전송선로의 두께가 얇을수록 곡률 변화에 더 적은 영향을 받으며, 길이가 짧을수록 곡률 변화에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
