  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of color preference of young women living in Seoul, to provide materials which is useful for setting up the color plan for a better costume, and to suggest new information in the apparel study. This study was done on the basis of color preference only by regional characteristics and the range of this study restricted on young women' clothes. The subjects were 1,100 in 1998, 1,393 young women in 2004. They were photographed in the street. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage and $\chi^2-test$. The results of this study was as follows; The preference of chromatic color and achromatic color, hue and tone, pattern of textiles are different mainly by regional characteristics. 1) In 1998, young women prefered achromatic colors to chromatic colors. and the most preferred achromatic color was black, especially women of YOUNGDUOPO area prefer black. But, in 2004, young women preferred chromatic colors to achromatic colors and the most preferred achromatic color was white in the all areas. 2) Analysis of hue shows that in 1998, blue is most preferred color in the all areas by young women. But, in 2004, the most preferred color was different depending on the areas 3) Analysis of tone shows that in 1998, vivid, pale, dark tones are commonly preferred by young women. However, APGUJUNG area have specially inclination, they prefer vivid, pale and light tone. In 2004 year, pale, vivid and bright tones are most preferred tones in the all areas. 4) Analysis of pattern of textiles shows that, pattern textiles were preferred by young women of APGUJUNGDONG area in 1998 and YOUNGDUOPO area in 2004. The most preferred. pattern for young women in all area was a stripe pattern.

  • This is to present the information and direction about color scheme image and adjective image in designing web page, by analysing the color image of our country's National University library's web page which is being operated now. The analysis method is to find the RGB of objective site through color emotion standard and to abstract the color chip. It is divided by color scheme image and adjective image. The scope of research is 41 National University libraries registered in National University Libraries Association. The result is that white and grey color of background and colors like light blue and green are main. In case of adjective image, nimble image and clear image was many. next is orderly bellowing image. and elegant image.

  • This paper describes the color comparison analysis of flame in each standard color model in order to propose the optimal color model for image processing based flame detection algorithm. Histogram intersection values were used to analyze the separation characteristics between color of flame and color of non-flame in each standard color model which are RGB, YCbCr, CIE Lab, HSV. Histogram intersection value in each color model and components is evaluated for objective comparison. The analyzed result shows that YCbCr color model is the most suitable for flame detection by average HI value of 0.0575. Among the 12 components of standard color models, each Cb, R, Cr component has respectively HI value of 0.0433, 0.0526, 0.0567 and they have shown the best flame separation characteristics.

  • To clone blue and white flower color specific genes, mRNA differential display was carried out with two different Commelina species, C. communis Linne for blue color and C. coreana Leveille for. leucantha Nakai for white color. Fifty two and 100 cDNA clones specific for blue or white flower color, respectively, were ranging from 200 to 700 bp in size. From the reverse northern blot analysis, 12 and 7 positive clones were selected for blue and white flower, respectively. These clones appear to be novel cDNAs for these Commelina plants, but not color specific. This finding was supported by the northern blot analysis. However, two clones, B18 and B19, derived from blue flowered Commelina were highly expressed than in the white Commelina species, implying that further study will be valuable. The results indicated that both mRNA display experiment and dot blot analysis may not sensitive enough to clone color-determining gene from the plant, leading to explore more advanced method, like high-density colony array study (HDCA).

  • This study aims to propose directions of color-scape about fishing village and harbor in East coast. In order to offer better landscape in harbor; Namae and Sachun, such as regional atmosphere and identification are to analyze with color planning. For the quality of color-scape, natural color, regional color of harbor may be possible to work out future harbor surrounding by evaluation scale and then hue, value, chroma can be estimated systematically. This survey suggests that color of harbor is to be environmental and regional color control. We analyze that the color-scape planning through the both whole harmony and organic combination is important elements of satisfaction to the people of experience with color environments. Consequently, some proposal of color guideline by analysis of color simulation will be useful to make out preliminary design criteria in improvement of color.

  • The cross-section of the polyester filament yarn has been modified to have a variety of shape for aesthetic, added functions and sensitivities, and other purposes. Transparent polyester filament of trilobal cross-section has unique optical properties with high anisotropic reflectivity and transmissivity. The monofilament yarns may be utilized to impart to the fabrics lustrous appearance along with unique color change in case differently dyed yarns are woven together. The color changes of the fabric specimens according to the changes in observation and lighting conditions were analyzed using a CCD camera and an image analysis software. The changes of color/luster of the fabric specimens were measured and analyzed based on RGB, $L^*a^*b^*,\;L^*C^*h,$ and the color distribution within a three-dimensional color space.

  • Recently, the color separation issue of wide-spreading white LEDs has attracted attention due to their wide applicability as light sources in direct-lit LCD backlights. These wide-spreading LED packages usually consist of LED chips, a color-conversion phosphor layer, and a light-shaping lens. The technical aspect of this color issue was related to a method for balancing the yellow spectral component emitting from phosphors with respect to the blue one from the LED chip as a function of viewing angle. In this study, we suggested an approach for carrying out quantitative analysis for the color separation problem occurring in wide-spreading LED packages by optical simulation. In addition, the effect of an internal scattering layer on the color uniformity was investigated, which may be considered as a potential solution for this problem.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the emotional color of home office and the trendy color with special comparison of office and library colors, and to suggest the harmony of color combination of home office based on the emotional color of this analytical data. this study, the Color Syntax Program, digital tool for color analysis of images is used. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the main color of home office images shows three color classifications of YR-Y, Y-GY, R-YR, and with relatively high ratios of YR-Y in the color of home offices, and B-PB, GY-G in offices and libraries. Secondly, from the point of emotional aspect, the trendy color of the home office can be classified into four color image categories: 'natural', 'peaceful', 'mild', and 'noble'. Under those categories this paper proposes 10 color harmony scheme that can be applied to color of home office interior design.

  • In this research, we were prepared the glazed ceramic samples by the change of the pigment content and investigated to reveal the standardized color. The chemical composition of the pigment was analyzed using a ICP-OES. XRF mapping and UV-Vis spectroscopy were used to evaluate the color property and surface homogeneity. The color development was observed as a result of analyzing the pigment content and change of the color. The pigment content and the spectral reflection showed the relation of the inverse proportion and the standardized color which could be revealed through analysis data.
