In this paper, we propose a new method with the improved continuity performance of overlap and add speech signal synthesis method using damping harmonic amplitude parameter. The existing method uses the average value of past and current parameters for the sinusoidal amplitude used as the weight of phase error function. But, the proposed method extracts the more accurate sinusoidal amplitude by using a correlation between the original signals and the synthesized signals for the sinusodal amplitude used as the weights. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we observed the average differential error value between the synthesized signals.
Poling condition in 2 mol% MgO-doped $LiNbO_3$ crystals is investigated by varying the amplitude of poling electric field from 3V/cm to 7V/cm. It is found that 5V/cm is the best value for the formation of single domain by analysing the characteristics of the second harmonic generation(SHG) as the function of temperature. The temperature dependence of the phase-matching profile of SHG for the crystal applied by a spatially modulated electric field is observed to be very different from the simple sinc function. The distorted profile can be consistently fitted with the numerical simulations. This shows that the crystal homogeneity can be tested by the SHG temperature phase-matching profile. In addition, the thermo birefringence coefficient and electro birefringence coefficient of SHG were measured from the temperature dependence of phase-matching profile and shifts of phase-matching temperature by appling electric field along c-axis.

The synchronous phasor measurement algorithm is the core content of the phasor measurement unit. This manuscript proposes a dynamic synchronous phasor measurement algorithm based on compressed sensing theory. First, a dynamic signal model based on the Taylor series was established. The dynamic power signal was preprocessed using a least mean square error adaptive filter to eliminate interference from noise and harmonic components. A Chirplet overcomplete dictionary was then designed to realize a sparse representation. A reduction of the signal dimension was next achieved using a Gaussian observation matrix. Finally, the improved orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm was used to realize the sparse decomposition of the signal to be detected, the amplitude and phase of the original power signal were estimated according to the best matching atomic parameters, and the total vector error index was used for an error evaluation. Chroma 61511 was used for the output of various signals, the simulation results of which show that the proposed algorithm cannot only effectively filter out interference signals, it also achieves a better dynamic response performance and stability compared with a traditional DFT algorithm and the improved DFT synchronous phasor measurement algorithm, and the phasor measurement accuracy of the signal is greatly improved. In practical applications, the hardware costs of the system can be further reduced.
Spectral modeling synthesis (SMS) has been used as a powerful tool for musical sound modeling. This technique considers a sound as a combination of a deterministic plus a stochastic component. The deterministic component is represented by the series of sinusoids that are described by amplitude, frequency, and phase functions and the stochastic component is represented by a series of magnitude spectrum envelopes that functions as a time varying filter excited by white noise. These representations make it possible for a synthesized sound to attain all the perceptual characteristics of the original sound. However, sometimes considerable phase variations occur in the deterministic component by using the conventional SMS for the complex sound such as whale sounds when the partial frequencies in successive frames differ. This is because it utilizes the calculated phase to synthesize deterministic component of the sound. As a result, it does not provide a good spectrum matching between original and synthesized spectrum in higher frequency region. To overcome this problem, we propose a modified SMS that provides good spectrum matching of original and synthesized sound by calculating complex residual spectrum in frequency domain and utilizing original phase information to synthesize the deterministic component of the sound. Analysis and simulation results for synthesizing whale sounds suggest that the proposed method is comparable to the conventional SMS in both time and frequency domain. However, the proposed method outperforms the SMS in better spectrum matching.

This paper proposes an efficient method for selecting ground motions with the mean response spectrum matching a target spectrum. Since former studies reported that the shape and amplitude of the response spectra can be treated independently for selecting ground motions, this study first selects ground motions such that the shape of their mean response spectrum matches that of the target spectrum, then scales the ground motions. To select the ground motions best matching the shape of the target response spectrum, the standard deviation of the difference between the target response spectrum and the mean response spectrum of the selected ground motions needs to be minimized. Unlike the existing procedure, the scaling factor can be computed without iteration. Based on the selection results of 7 ground motions from a library of 40 ground motions, the proposed method is verified as an accurate and efficient method.
The penetration of an electro-magnetic wave through an aperture in a cylindrical structure with a center dielectric-rod is investgated. By using a standard mode matching procedure, the electrical and magnetic fields in a cavity are determined as a function of position inside the cavity and frequency of the incident field. For the given parameters, computed data are obtained and the results exhibited in form of amplitude curves of the nor malized field and energy densities of functions of position and frequency. Depending on the increase of the relative dielectric constant of center dielectric-rod, the resonance frequecies of the cavity vary as the cavity size decrease. The stored electro-magnetic energy varies very rapidly as a function of position inside the cavity and of the source frequency. Its peak value can be two orders of magnitude greater than the incident energy density. The frequencies where the peaks occur can be identified approximately as the resonance frequencies of the cavity.

Turbocharging is one of the best methods to improve the performance of diesel engines, because of its merits,-power ratio, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Most of them in small and medium diesel engines have adopted the pulse turbocharging method with twin entry vaneless radial turbines to maximize the energy utility of exhaust gas. This method requires the high performance of turbine under unsteady flow, and also the matching between turbine and diesel engine is most important. However, it is difficult to match properly between them. Because the steady flow data are usually used for it. Accordingly, it is necessary to catch the characteristics of turbine performance correctly over the wide range of the operation conditions under unsteady flow. In this paper, the characteristics of turbine performance under unsteady flow are represented at varying conditions, such as inlet pressure amplitude, turbine speed and frequence.
This paper presents a new algorithm for P-wave detection in the ECG signal, we get the peak, onset and offset point by using significant point extraction algorithm with 5-point derivative. To these set of extracted significant points, we apply amplitude and duration threshold criterion. we define the set of significant point meeting the criterion as P-wave candidate. Then P-wave candidate is classified through match-process with template. The template with maximum number or P-wave candidate is selected to be the P-wave.
In this paper, the extended Biot's semilinear model was developed. Combining the extended Biot model with the dynamic equation yields the nonlinear wave equation in poproelastic sound absorbing materials. Both perturbation and matching techniques are used to find solutions for nonlinear wave equations. By comparing results between linear and nonlinear wave solutions, characteristics of nonlinear waves in poroelastic sound abosrbing materials have been studied. Nonlinear waves were found to be attenuated faster than the linear ones. A maximum amplitude of the nonlinear wave occurred near its surface boundaries and decay quickly with distance from the surface. It has also been found that, if the amplitudes of linear waves are known at the surface boundaries, those of nonlinear ones can be determined. This will be the basis of finding effects of nonlinearity on the absorption coefficient and the transmission loss.

In this work, a new method is presented for generating the manipulator path which significantly reduces residual vibration under the torque constraints. The desired path is optimally designed so that the required movement can be achieved with minimum residual vibration. From the previous research works, the dynamic model had been established including both the link and the joint flexibilities. The performance index is selected to minimize the maximum amplitude of residual vibration. The path to be designed is developed by a combined Fourier series and polynomial function to satisfy both the convergence and boundary condition matching problems. The concept of correlation coefficients is used to select the minimum number of design variables, i.e. Fourier coefficients, the only ones which have a considerable effect on the reduction of residual vibration. A two-link Manipulator is used to evaluate this method. Results show that residual vibration can be drastically reduced by selecting an appropriate manipulator path to both of unlimited and torque-limited cases.
