  • Time-of-flight(ToF) cameras deliver intensity data as well as range information of the objects of the scene. However, systematic problems during the acquisition lead to distorted values in both distance and amplitude. In this paper we propose a method to acquire reliable distance information over the entire scene correcting each information based on the other data. The amplitude image is enhanced based on the depth values and this leads depth correction especially for far pixels.

  • Unlike optical equipment, SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) has the advantage of obtaining images in all weather, and object detection in SAR images is an important issue. Generally, deep learning-based object detection was mainly performed in real-valued network using only amplitude of SAR image. Since the SAR image is complex data consist of amplitude and phase data, a complex-valued network is required. In this paper, a complex-valued ResNet network is proposed. SAR image object detection was performed by combining the ROI transformer detector specialized for aerial image detection and the proposed complex-valued ResNet. It was confirmed that higher accuracy was obtained in complex-valued network than in existing real-valued network.

  • Blind restoration for motion-blurred images is always the research hotspot, and the key for the blind restoration is the accurate blur kernel (BK) estimation. Therefore, to achieve high-quality blind image restoration, this thesis presents a novel windowed-total-variation method. The proposed method is based on the spatial scale of edges but not amplitude, and the proposed method thus can extract useful image edges for accurate BK estimation, and then recover high-quality clear images. A large number of experiments prove the superiority.

  • We chose Bessel beamu[$J_o(ar)}$)l in order to investigate image forming property of the optical system with combined filter of amplitude and phase(CFAP). This paper investigated numerically the influence of number of nodes of these beams on the PSF, encircled energy(E), transmission ratio(TR), gain((;) for an aberrated(1aberration-free) optical system. These results showed that the property of PSF differ considerably from the one of the existing amplitude filter and that Bessel beam has super compensating effect for an optical system with spherical aberration. Particularly, the Bessel beam has less the size of central spot than the radius of Airy disk, this result can therefore be applied to the fabrication of semiconductor device.

  • This work presents an experimental methodology specially developed for the nonlinear large-amplitude free vibration analysis of a clamped-free thin-walled metal column under self-weight. The main contribution of this paper is related to the developed experimental methodology which is based on a remote sensing technique using a computer vision system that integrates, on-line, the digital image acquisition and its treatment through special image processing routines. The main importance of this methodology is that it performs large deflections measurements without making contact with the structure and thus, not introducing undesirable changes in its behavior, for instance, appreciable changes in mass and stiffness properties. This structure presents, in most cases, highly non-linear responses, which cannot be reproduced by conventional finite-element softwares due, mainly, to the simultaneous influence of geometric and inertial non-linearities. To capture the non-linearities associated with large amplitude vibration and be able to describe the buckling process, the structure is discretized as a sequence of jointed coupled elastic pendulums. The obtained numerical results are favorably compared with the experimental ones, in the pre- and post-buckling regimes.

  • A new joint source channel coding reduces both input-width and average current consumption to transmit image data to LCD source drivers. As a source coding, it is based on entropy coding of differential pulse code modulation scheme, especially using median edge detector of image predictor. As a channel coding, it is not a simple pulse amplitude modulation, but linked by source entropy to reduce average amplitude. Simulation results show 1/4 width is achievable by 16-valued transmission with keeping conventional current consumption (0.36 to 1.3).

  • This paper explored the results of experimental investigation on carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite sample with thermal wave technique. The thermal wave technique combines the advantages of both conventional thermal wave measurement and thermography using a commercial Infrared camera. The sample comprises the artificial inclusions of foreign material to simulate defects of different shape and size at different depths. Lock-in thermography is employed for the detection of defects. The temperature field of the front surface of sample was observed and analysed at several excitation frequencies ranging from 0.562 Hz down to 0.032 Hz. Four-point methodology was applied to extract the amplitude and phase of thermal wave's harmonic component. The phase images are analyzed to find qualitative and quantitative information about the defects.

  • Amplitude-only logarithmic Radon transform (ALR transform) for pattern matching is proposed. This method provides robustness for object translation, scaling, and rotation. An ALR image is invariant even if objects are translated in a picture. For the object scaling and rotation, the ALR image is merely translated. The objects are identified using a phase-only matched filter to the ALR image. The ratio of size, the difference of rotation angle, and the position between the two objects are detected. Our pattern matching procedure is described, herein, and its simulation is executed. We compare matching scores with the Fourier-Mellin transform, and the general phase-only matched filter.

  • Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results selected one somatotype. for the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body, there dimensional clothing shapes measured. and cross-sectional clothing shape obtained by the measurement was considered to be space wave form. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form, and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. • The purpose of this study was to detect the pin hole defect of dental composite restoration using lock-in thermography method. Amplitude and phase images of the composite resin specimens were analyzed according to the lock-in frequency and the diameter of defect area. Through the amplitude image analysis, at lock-in frequency of 0.05 Hz, defect diameters 2-5 mm exhibited the highest amplitude contrast value between defective area and sound area. The lock-in frequency range of 0.3-0.5 Hz provided good phase angle contrast for the defect area. At lock-in frequency range of 0.5 Hz, defect diameter of 5 mm exhibited the highest phase contrast value. It is concluded that the infrared lock-in thermography method verified the effectiveness for detecting the pin hole defect of dental composite restoration.
