Background : The current medical statistics used in clinical research are the results of Fisher's significance test and the Neyman-Pearson hypothesis test, which were combined by psychologists. Also, in the philosophical background, it is related to Popper's falsificationism based hypothesis-deductive method and reduction to absurdity. Objectives : This study was designed to find complementary and alternative methods of null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis used for the clinical research methodology of Korean medicine otolaryngology. Methods : The body of this paper was divided into seven part. These are historical background, hypothesis test, hypothesis test method used in the design of clinical study, falsificationism and reduction to absurdity, problem and alternative method of the Neyman-Pearson hypothesis test, diagnosis example of sinusitis differentiation syndromes by Bayesian statistics. Through this process, we found out problems of frequentist statistics and suggested alternative methods. Result & Conclusion : As a solution to the problems of the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis, there are effects size, confidence interval, Bayesian statistics and Lakatos methodology of scientific research programmes.

This paper proposes a wearable audio book application using two wearable devices, a smartwatch and a hearables. We review requirements of what could be a killer wearable application and design our application based on these elicited requirements. To distinguish our application, we present 7 scenarios and introduce several wearable interaction modalities. To show feasibility of our approach, we design and implement our proof-of-concept prototype on Android emulator as well as on a commercial smartwatch. We thoroughly address how different interaction modalities are designed and implemented in the Android platform. Lastly, we show latency of the multi-modal and alternative interaction modalities that can be gracefully handled in wearable audio application use cases.

In these days companies are rapidly implementing the extended enterprise collaboration to provide enhanced management services and products based on the enterprise integration that human resources, technologies and the management process. In this corporate environment, ASP (Application Service Provider) which is the developed type of outsourcing in the area of information technology, is a good alternative for corporate information system management. ASP defines as a software leasing service which is supplied through networks instead of purchasing application software with high price. For successful implementation of ASP, it is necessary to develop the certification methodology to ensure safety and reliability of ASP. The paper provides the safe and reliable certification methodology for ASP. In order to develop it, the critical issues related to service quality and certification of ASP are identified and the systematic certification methodology of application and service provider(service environment) domains of ASP are provided. A evaluation method for the developed certification methodology is also proposed.

본 연구는 기존 초등학교 지리교과의 교수 학습에 대한 대안적 방안으로써의 GIS를 활용한 수업의 효과를 분석하였다. 연구방법은 2006년 3월 6일부터 7월 30일에 걸쳐 경북 안동시 Y초등학교 3학년을 대상으로 GIS를 활용한 실험집단과 종래의 수업방식을 채택한 비교집단으로 구분하여, '우리고장의 모습'단원에 대한 실험수업을 한 이후에 공간인지력의 차이를 집단 간 그리고 실험수업 전후를 비교하는 방식을 택하였다. 우리나라 초등학생의 공간인지 발달단계와 교과서에 제시된 자료가 상충되어 학생들의 학습 의욕이 저하될 뿐만 아니라 교수 목표도 달성하기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 대한 대안적 교수 학습 방안의 수단으로 GIS활용의 중요성이 강조되고 왔다. 이러한 주장을 검증한 초등교육을 대상으로 한 경험적 연구는 전무한 실정이다. GIS를 활용한 실험수업 이전의 초등학교 3학년 공간인지능력은 매우 낮았다. 이는 초등학교 $1{\sim}2$학년 교과과정에서는 학습매체로 그림지도를 주로 활용하기 때문이다. 따라서 지도학습에 있어서 과도기적 단계로 진입하는 3학년의 지리학습은 장래 공간인지능력의 발달에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 그러나 공간인지능력의 발달에 결정적인 영향을 미치는 현장학습은 제대로 실시되지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이에 GIS 활용수업 등 대안적 학습방안의 개발이 절실하다. 지표물, 방위 그리고 거리를 지표로 한 공간인지능력을 대상으로 GIS를 활용한 실험수업의 효과를 분석한 결과 기존의 지리학습의 대안적 방안으로 GIS를 활용할 경우 공간 인지능력의 제고에 있어서 그 효과가 큰 것으로 밝혀졌다. 뿐만 아니라 GIS활용 수업은 개인 혹은 집단 간 공간인지능력 격차를 완화함에 있어서도 보다 효율적이라는 것을 확인하였다.

In relation to the environmental analysis system of social marketing, this study has analyzed the responses made by the future users of the integrated apartments for the elderly that are currently under development as an alternative for the housing of the aging society. By studying the comprehensive social benefits, individual benefits and the implied factors for conceptual and behavioral changes in terms of the integrated apartments for the elderly, some important study results were obtained for the practical application of the new alternative. The major points are as follows: Firstly, from social aspect, the respondents wanted to know in detail about the integrated apartments for the elderly, the new alternative was evaluated to be helpful in elderly life, and it was expected to be effective for supporting the elderly people from psychological aspect. Secondly, from supply aspect, it was revealed that an alternative for the integrated apartment for the elderly is required to be developed in details reflecting the diverse needs of the elderly people and to be developed with differentiating strategy, but its applicability may confront some difficulties. Thirdly, from private aspect, the respondents showed they would feel economic burden if an integrated apartment for the elderly is introduced actually.

Purpose: This study was done to examine the experience of school health instructors in applying complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM). Method: The participants were 215 health instructors working in elementary schools in Busan. Data were collected from Dec. 1, 2004 to Mar. 10, 2005 and were analyzed using SPSS WIN 10.0. Results: Most of the health instructors had knowledge about CAM. Among the various CAM methods, acupuncture was the most widely known at 78.6%. While 53.5% had no experience in CAM education, 46.5% had been trained. Slightly over half (52.1%) had used CAM at school and based their decision on personal experience. As to applicability of CAM at school, 72.1% thought CAM was applicable, and 78.7% of this group considered alleviation of symptoms and assistance in the treatment process as the reasons for their answer. There were significant differences in responses as to the applicability of CAM according to age (p=.002), work experience (p=.004) and educational background (p=.002). Conclusions: The above results suggest that there is a need to develop a professional education program on complimentary and alternative medicine to assist school health instructorsto plan nursing interventions using CAM which are individualized and practical.

This study analyzed the effect of Human-oriented Alternative Science Activities(HASA) on a coaching teacher and the students who participated in this activity. Human-oriented alternative science activities were used in the experimental group and traditional teaching methods were used in the control group. In pretest and posttest sessions, both groups were evaluated using an academic achievement test, and an affective characteristics related science test. After the activity, questionaries regarding attitudes to science lessons were administered as well. The process of change (if any) which occurred in the science lessons of the experimental group teacher was also analyzed through the teacher's diaries. The results showed that application of HASA had a positive effect upon affective characteristics and attitudes to science classes held by the experimental group and teacher. However, the result of this study also showed that the variation between academic achievement of each group was statistically insignificant.

Purpose: This study was to evaluate the importance of liver cancer patient's diet and to provide guideline materials for proper nursing intervention. Method: The hermeneutic phenomenological method of van Manen was applied for the in-depth interview of liver cancer patients and the cultural background studies including linguistic, literary and art works to enhance the insight and understanding, from which the meaning of the cognition and lesson of the experiences were extracted. The participants for this study were five male patients, who had been diagnosed with liver cancer, 5-15 years ago and had been treated with Transcatheter Arterial Embolization without chemotherapy. The repeated interview and close observation were carried out for nine months starting from January 2001 in Seoul, Korea. Result: Eight essential themes were emerged ; (1) confliction(frustration) with hospital treatment (2) trial of every possible remedies (3) liking unpolluted natural foods(4) faithful tolerance (5) experiencing diet effectiveness (6) discovering personal control methods (7) deepen their faith in God (8) searching for healthy new life. Conclusion: The alternative diet therapy influenced their life beyond the physical overcoming of cancer toward psychological and spiritual healing. The study evidenced the necessity for scientific research and education on the effectiveness and application of complementary and alternative diet therapy for the treatment of cancer in hospital practices.

물리학적 측면에서 에너지의 개념은 일하는 능력으로 정의된다. 기존의 석탄 석유등 화석연료를 대체하기 위해 1980년 이후부터 천연가스 원자력 등의 사용이 증가하였으나 환경오염문제로 태양열 풍력 조력 지열 등 대체에너지로의 전환을 촉진하고 있다. 그러나 에너지 이용효율 측면에서는 원자력 에너지와 화약 가스 등 화학에너지와는 비교가 되지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 환경(대체)에너지의 한계점을 뛰어 넘을 수 있는 방안을 연구하기 위하여 그린에너지의 현황을 조사하였으며, 고효율 에너지원에 대한 청정화와 응용 및 개발방향에 대해 검토, 연구 하였다.

This study presents an analytical model of the pneumatic circuit of an air suspension system to analyze the characteristics of vehicle height control. The analytical model was developed through the co-simulation of Simulink(air spring) and HyPneu(pneumatic circuit). Variant effective area of air spring and flow coefficients of pneumatic valves were estimated experimentally prior to the system test, and utilized in simulation. One-comer test apparatus was established using the components of commercial air suspension products. The results of simulation and experiment were so close that the proposed analytical model in this study was validated. However the frictional loss of conduit and heat dissipation which were ignored in this study need to be considered in future study. As an application example of proposed analytical model, an alternative pneumatic circuit of air suspension to conventional WABCO circuit was evaluated. The comparison of simulation results of WABCO circuit and alternative circuit show that proposed analytical model of co-simulation in this study is useful for the study of pneumatic system of automotive air suspension.
