GIS를 이용하여 교차로를 고려한 도로선형 최적화 모델링 (The Road Alignment Optimization Modelling of Intersection Based on GIS)

  • This study develops modeling processes for alignment optimization considering characteristics of intersections using genetic algorithms and GIS for road alignment optimization. Since existing highway alignment optimization models have neglected the characteristics of intersections, they have shown serious weaknesses for real applications. In this paper, intersection costs include earthwork, right-of-way, pavement, accident, delay and fuel consumption costs that are sensitive and dominating to alignments. Also, local optimization of intersections for saving good alignment alternatives is developed and embedded. A highway alignment is described by parametric representation in space and vector manipulation is used to find the coordinates of intersections and other interesting points. The developed intersection cost estimation model is sufficiently precise for estimating intersection costs and eventually enhancing the performance of highway alignment optimization models. Also, local optimization of intersections can be used for improving search flexibility, thus allowing more effective intersections. It also provides a basis for extending the alignment optimization from single highways to networks. The presented two artificial examples show that the total intersection costs are substantial and sensitive to highway alignments.

  • This study is to develop the model of alignment optimization based on design criteria by approaching through alignment of railway design and problems in economy, environment and technology for satisfying traffic volume of the main roads caused by economical and social developments. Now, Geographic Information System isn't applied when designing a present railway in home. And the design of railway alignment is still set on importance of transition curves and cant according to passenger comfort in abroad so tile study of railway alignment is at initiation phase so far. This paper is about decision of optimal alignment between two stations such as starting point and ending point automatically using GIS in optimization of railway alignment. A route between Sungsan city and Shinpung city is the training area and the study compared and evaluated optimal railway route by GIS automatically with present railway route designed. Present optimal fomulas was used in this study for optimization of railway alignment. The model of optimization of railway alignment was developed through topographical elements and it was mentioned by the model of road alignment because of the similarity in design of alignment. But the design of lateral track irregularities, cant fur passenger comfort and motion sickness fellowed by train rolling have to be considered more. Anyway, this study farmed the basis of using GIS and the study should be keep going on in the future.

종단선형설계 최적화 기법에 관한 연구 (Mathematical Optimization Models for Determination of Optimal Vertical Alignment)

  • In the fields of rail and road design, most vertical alignment design have been thus far heavily dependent upon trial-and-errors of experienced engineers. However, it has long been inefficient in productivity of designing process. In order to overcome this inefficiency, this paper presents the optimal vertical alignment design method using mathematical optimization techniques. For optimization, mathematical model to minimize the construction cost is formulated and the separable programming technique and the Zoutendijk method are introduced to solve it. As result, it is shown that this optimization technique can give efficient solutions to all vertical alignment design fields with properly-estimated cost function.

  • Vibrational analysis is presented for a visual alignment system of nano-imprint process in this study. For a nano-imprinting equipment, the visual alignment system is one of the essential parts in order to align the mold into the target panel. For the precision alignment, the vibration from inside and outside of the vision system should be avoided, and the elimination of the vibration should be considered in the design process of the visual alignment design. In this work, vibrational characteristics for the vision system frame is analyzed and topology optimization of a frame section area is carried out. With the results of the analysis, a new frame design are suggested. Design consideration for constructing a visual alignment system in view of optimal design is also discussed.

  • Previous alignment optimization models have not adequately considered intersections and other structures such as bridges, tunnels, grade separations and interchanges which can very strongly affect alignment decisions. This paper develops comprehensive cost functions for intersections and other structures and incorporates them in recently developed highway alignment optimization models connected with genetic algorithms and geographical information systems. The result is a fast and computerized process for extracting, analyzing spatial data, evaluating candidate alignments and optimizing them. A method for locally optimizing intersections is also developed. It improves search flexibility by saving good alignments whose unacceptable crossing angles with existing roads can be fixed, Through case studies, the developed model is found to produce feasible and efficient solutions.

도로의 최적노선대 선정방법 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on Determining Highway Routes)

  • 도로의 구조 시설기준에 관한 규칙과 국도의 노선계획 설계지침에 준하여 실행되는 현행 노선선정방법과, 컴퓨터 발전과 함께 국내외에서 연구되고 있는 선형최적화 모형식으로 사례연구 구간의 도로 노선을 선정하여 노선 특성을 비교 분석해본 결과, 현행 노선선정방법은 단계별, 구간별로 순차적인 노선선정이 이루어지는 국지적 최적을 추구하나, 선형 최적화 모형식 선정방법은 모든 설계요소가 동시에 고려된 체계최적(System Optimal)의 노선탐색 능력이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 선형최적화 모형에서 기존 설계공종별 실제공사비로 비용함수를 보정하여 노선을 선정한 결과 현실에 부합되게 설계되었으며, 경제성이 높은(B/C=1.66) 대안 노선이 탐색되었다. 선형최적화 설계모형은 터널 종단에서 종단 경사가 변화하는 등 보완될 점이 있음에도 타당성조사와 기본설계단계에서 노선선정 도구로서 설계시간 및 비용단축, 다양한 대안 노선의 검토 등의 많은 장점을 지니고 있음이 확인되었다.

Alignment estimation performance of Multiple Design Configuration Optimization for three optical systems

  • In this study, we investigated alignment state estimation performances of the three methods i.e. merit function regression (MFR), differential wavefront sampling (DWS) and Multiple Design Configuration Optimization (MDCO). The three target optical systems are 1) a two-mirror Cassegrain system for deep space Earth observation, 2) intermediate size three-mirror anastigmat for Earth ocean monitoring, and 3) extremely large segmented optical system for astronomical observation. We ran alignment state estimation simulation for several alignment perturbation cases including 1mm to 10mm in decenter and from 0.1 to 1 degree in tilt perturbation error for the two-mirror Cassegrain system. In general, we note that MDCO shows more competitive estimation performance than MFR and DWS. The computational concept, case definition and the simulation results are discussed with implications to future works.

  • Modern ship hulls of large oil carriers and container carrers have become more flexible with scantling optimization and increase in ship length. On the other hand. as the demand for power has increased with the ship size. shaft diameters have become larger and stiffer. Consequently. the alignment of the propulsion system has become more sensitive to hull girder deflections. resulting in difficulties in analyzing the alignment and conducting the alignment procedure. Accordingly. the frequency of shaft alignment related bearing damages has increased significantly in recent years. The alignment related damages are mostly attributed to inadequate analyses. changes in the design of the vessel. shipyards' practices in conducting the alignment. and a lack of well defined analytical criteria. The hull deflections should be considered at the design stage to minimize the bearing damage caused by hull deflection. Hull deflections can be estimated by analytical approach and reverse calculation using the measured data. The hull girder deflection analysis using the reverse calculation will be introduced in this paper.

  • 선형 설계 시 고려해야 할 수많은 정량적 또는 정성적인 인자들에 대하여 최신 IT기술을 접목하고 컴퓨터의 빠른 연산기능을 이용하여 단시간에 좀 더 많은 선형을 검토할 수 있는 선형 최적화 기술은 그동안 주목할 만 한 발전을 이루어 왔다. 특히 선형 최적화시 정량적인 설계요소의 정확한 반영과 수준 높은 성과품 출력에 대한 사용자의 요구는 설계기술자의 수준을 요구하는 단계에 이르렀다. 이런 요구사항에 부응하여 본 연구는 종단선형 최적화시 기존의 방식을 탈피한 보다 정밀한 Vertical Control Point(VCP) 적용구간을 탐색하고 설계에 적용할 수 있는 방안을 마련하였다. 이는 벡터방식을 이용한 VCP처리 기법으로 빠른 탐색 과 정확한 적용구간을 계산해 냄으로서 종전 래스터방식 결과와 비교해 보았을 때 보다 신뢰할 수 있는 종단선형을 도출할 수 있게 되었다. 특히 래스터 방식에 비해 벡터방식을 적용 할 경우 정밀도가 향상 되리라는 것은 주지의 사실이나, 선형최적화 기술의 선결조건인 처리속도를 저하시키지 않고 벡터방식을 적용 하였다는 것이 본 연구의 성과라고 할 수 있다.

Reverse-optimization Alignment Algorithm using Zernike Sensitivity

  • When aligning catoptric or catadioptric telescopes for space cameras, it is difficult to align precisely if the field of view is large or there are several reflective surfaces. The quantitative knowledge of mirror misalignments greatly helps align a misaligned telescope precisely, and also reduce the alignment time. This paper describes a generalized reverse-optimization alignment solution algorithm using Zernike sensitivity, and proposes the minimum number of fields to take interferograms. This method was successfully applied on a Cassegrain telescope design for Earth observation from space with arbitrary misalignments and a model including some primary mirror deformation.
