A Candidate Codec Algorithm on Superwideband Extension to ITU-T G.711.1 and G.722 (ITU-T G.711.1 및 G.722 슈퍼와이드밴드 확장 후보 코덱 알고리즘)

  • In this paper we proposed a candidate algorithm on G.711.1 and G.722 superwideband extension codec which is under standardization by ITU-T. The proposed codec not only provides an interoperable bitstream with ITU-T G.711.1 and G.722, but also encodes a superwideband signal with a bandwidth of 50-14,000 Hz using superwideband extension layer. The candidate codec consists of a core layer to provide an interoperability with conventional wideband codecs and superwideband extension layer using linear prediction-based sinusoidal coding. The proposed extension codec operates on 5ms frame and provides four superwideband bitrates of 64, 80, 96, and 112 kbit/s depending on the core codec. Since the resulting bitstream has an embedded structure, it can be converted into core bitstream by simple truncation without transcoding. The proposed codec has a short algorithmic delay and low complexity and passed the qualification test of G.711.1 and G.722 superwideband extension codec performed by ITU-T.

A New Wideband Speech/Audio Coder Interoperable with ITU-T G.729/G.729E (ITU-T G.729/G.729E와 호환성을 갖는 광대역 음성/오디오 부호화기)

  • Wideband speech, characterized by a bandwidth of about 7 kHz (50-7000 Hz), provides a substantial quality improvement in terms of naturalness and intelligibility. Although higher data rates are required, it has extended its application to audio and video conferencing, high-quality multimedia communications in mobile links or packet-switched transmissions, and digital AM broadcasting. In this paper, we present a new bandwidth-scalable coder for wideband speech and audio signals. The proposed coder spits 8kHz signal bandwidth into two narrow bands, and different coding schemes are applied to each band. The lower-band signal is coded using the ITU-T G.729/G.729E coder, and the higher-band signal is compressed using a new algorithm based on the gammatone filter bank with an invertible auditory model. Due to the split-band architecture and completely independent coding schemes for each band, the output speech of the decoder can be selected to be a narrowband or wideband according to the channel condition. Subjective tests showed that, for wideband speech and audio signals, the proposed coder at 14.2/18 kbit/s produces superior quality to ITU-T 24 kbit/s G.722.1 with the shorter algorithmic delay.

Development of Artificial Intelligence Joint Model for Hybrid Finite Element Analysis (하이브리드 유한요소해석을 위한 인공지능 조인트 모델 개발)

  • The development of joint FE models for deep learning neural network (DLNN)-based hybrid FEA is presented. Material models of bolts and bearings in the front axle of tractor, showing complex behavior induced by various tightening conditions, were replaced with DLNN models. Bolts are modeled as one-dimensional Timoshenko beam elements with six degrees of freedom, and bearings as three-dimensional solid elements. Stress-strain data were extracted from all elements after finite element analysis subjected to various load conditions, and DLNN for bolts and bearing were trained with Tensorflow. The DLNN-based joint models were implemented in the ABAQUS user subroutines where stresses from the next increment are updated and the algorithmic tangent stiffness matrix is calculated. Generalization of the trained DLNN in the FE model was verified by subjecting it to a new loading condition. Finally, the DLNN-based FEA for the front axle of the tractor was conducted and the feasibility was verified by comparing with results of a static structural experiment of the actual tractor.

  • This research developed a forest-level harvest scheduling model using linear programming (LP). The formulations of the LP model include timber production schemes with constraints of nondecling yield forest conversion strategies, the minimum timber supply, levels and the maximum cut acrages. The model is able to generate both Model I and Model II types of input matrix in MPS format. In this paper, use of LP in building the framework of the strategic forest planning model was justified by comparing the algorithmic characteristics of LP with those of Gentan probability and binary search approaches through literature reviews. In order to demonstrate the field applicability of the model proposed. (1) the harvest scheduling problem for about 11,000-hectare case study area (Mt. Baekun area in Southern Experimental Forest of Seoul National University) was formulated and soloed and (2) the effects of the change in task regulatory timber production constraints or. optimal harvesting schedules here investigated.

  • Advances of Internet and rC accelerate distribution and sharing of information, which make P2P(Peer-to-Peer) computing paradigm appear P2P computing Paradigm is the computing paradigm that shares computing resources and services between users directly. A fundamental problem that confronts Peer-to-Peer applications is the efficient location of the node that stoles a desired item. P2P systems treat the majority of their components as equivalent. This purist philosophy is useful from an academic standpoint, since it simplifies algorithmic analysis. In reality, however, some peers are more equal than others. We propose the P2P protocol considering differences of capabilities of computers, which is ignored in previous researches. And we examine the possibility and applications of the protocol. Simulating the Magic Square, we estimate the performances of the protocol with the number of hop and network round time. Finally, we analyze the performance of the protocol with the numerical formula. We call our p2p protocol the Magic Square. Although the numbers that magic square contains have no meaning, the sum of the numbers in magic square is same in each row, column, and main diagonal. The design goals of our p2p protocol are similar query response time and query path length between request peer and response peer, although the network information stored in each peer is not important.

광미/광폐석 처리를 위한 고형화 공정 실증 실험

  • 본 연구에서는 폐광산 주변에 산재되어 있는 광미/광폐석을 처리하기 위하여 고형화 실증 실험을 수행하였다. 고형화 공정에서 흔히 사용하는 포틀랜드 시멘트와 MSG-E, MSG-N을 고화제로 사용하였으며 현장 광미 및 광폐석을 대상으로 고화체를 양생하고 고화체의 압축강도 및 중금속 용출 정도를 측정하였다. 고화체의 물리/화학적 특성을 비교하기 위해 광미/고화제 비율, 배합수/고화제 비율 그리고 고화체 양생기간을 실험인자로 설정하였다. 실험 결과 광미/고화제의 비율 1:1 만을 고려하더라도 중금속 용출의 급격한 감소가 이루어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며 광미/고화제의 비율을 3:1 이하로 유지시키는 경우, 고화체의 압축강도가 현행 폐기물 관리법(20조 관련)에서 규정하고 있는 차단형 매립시설 내부막의 압축강도 기준인 $0.21kgf/mm^2$ 보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다양한 pH를 갖는 수용액에 대하여 시간에 따른 고화체의 중금속 용출률을 측정한 결과, 수용액의 pH가 1과 13인 강산/강염기 용액에서 일부 중금속의 용출 농도가 지하수 생활용수 기준치를 초과하였으나, pH와 3 - 11인 경우에는 중금속 용출률이 급격히 감소하여 모두 기준치 이하를 나타내었다. 또한, pH가 1과 13인 수용액의 경우에도 고화체와 반응하는 시간이 증가할수록 고화체의 buffering 효과에 의해 수용액의 pH가 감소하였다. 이러한 결과는 현장에서 접촉수의 pH가 강산이나 강염기라 하여도, 고화체의 buffering 효과에 의해 시간이 지남에 따라 수용액의 pH가 낮아져 고화체로부터의 중금속 용출은 매우 감소할 것임을 의미한다.ss of an active application defined using the model.   • The major purpose of this article is to examine what kind of gap exists between mathematically gifted students' probability knowledge and the reality actually applying that knowledge and then analyze the cause of the gap. To attain the goal, 23 elementary mathematically gifted students at the highest level from G region were provided with problem situations internalizing a probability and expectation, and the problems are in series in which conditions change one by one. The study task is in a gaming situation where there can be the most reasonable answer mathematically, but the choice may differ by how much they consider a certain condition. To collect data, the students' individual worksheets are collected, and all the class procedures are recorded with a camcorder, and the researcher writes a class observation report. The biggest reason why the students do not make a decision solely based on their own mathematical knowledge is because of 'impracticality', one of the properties of probability, that in reality, all things are not realized according to the mathematical calculation and are impossible to be anticipated and also their own psychological disposition to 'avoid loss' about their entry fee paid. In order to provide desirable probability education, we should not be limited to having learners master probability knowledge included in the textbook by solving the problems based on algorithmic knowledge but provide them with plenty of experience to apply probabilistic inference with which they should make their own choice in diverse situations having context.

  • The purpose of this study is to treat the students addicted to the internet by implementing a program using computers. In order to accomplish the purpose, the program was created by combining the game making activities using scratch programming, self-examination activities, and future occupation search activities. This treatment program will have major positive effects on the students who are addicted to the internet. First, it will be effective for reducing the time for using the internet and it will also improve the addictiveness such as being immersed in playing games. Second, there will be a change in attitude toward the internet and an improvement in intellectual capacity of the students. They will realize the fun of making and sharing the programs with friends, and their thinking skills will be improved by getting training for algorithmic and creative thinking. Third, this treatment program will have positive effects on the students' affective domain. They will have deeper and wider perspective on occupation by searching their future occupation, and discover the meta-ego through self-examination., which in turn, help them gain confidence and feel a sense of accomplishment.

A Study on the Efficient Algorithm for Converting Range Matching Rules into TCAM Entries in the Packet Filtering System (패킷 필터링 시스템에서 범위 규칙의 효율적 TCAM 엔트리 변환 알고리즘 연구)

  • Packet classification is defined as the action to match the packet with a set of predefined rules. One of classification is to use Ternary Content Addressable Memory hardware search engine that has faster than other algorithmic methods. However, TCAM has some limitations. One of them is that TCAM can not perform range matching efficiently. A range has to be expanded into prefixes to fit the boundary. In general, the number of expansion could be up to 2w-2, where w is the width of the field. For example, if two range fields with 16 bits are used, there could be up to $30\;{\times}\;30\;=\;900$ expansions for a single rule. In this paper, we describe the novel algorithm for converting range matching rules into TCAM entry efficiently. The number of maximum entry is 2w-4 when using the algorithm. Furthermore, it has also benefit about the negation range. In the result of experimentation, the new scheme practically reduces 14 percent in case that searched fields are source port and destination port number.

Case Analysis and Applicability Review of Parametric Design in Landscape Architectural Design (조경 설계 분야에서 파라메트릭 디자인의 사례 분석과 활용 가능성)

  • The act of design in landscape architecture consists of a concept within a designer's mind, technical representations, and finally, a process of construction. In the 4th Industrial Revolution, the design process is facing many changes due to the rapid development of computer technology and the IT ecosystem. Computer technology was initially developed for simple functions, such as mathematical calculation and graphic representation. However, after the spread of Personal Computers, starting with IBM and Macintosh, programming languages and hardware rapidly developed, algorithms and applications became specialized, and the purpose of using computers became very diverse. This study diagnoses issues concerning the functions and roles that new design methods, such as computational design, parametric design, and algorithmic design, can play in landscape architecture based on changes in the digital society. The study focused on the design methodology using parametric technology, which has recently received the most attention. First, the basis for discussion was developed by examining the main concepts and characteristics of parametric design in modern landscape architecture. Prior research on the use of parametric design in landscape architecture was analyzed, as were the case studies conducted by landscape design firms. As a result, it was confirmed that parametric design has not been sufficiently discussed in terms of the number and diversity of studies compared to other techniques investigated by landscape design firms. Finally, based on the discussion, the study examined specific cases and future possibilities of the parametric design in landscape architecture.
