내마모 구조 코팅용 Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅막의 미세구조와 기계적 특성에 관한 연구 (Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cr-Al-Si-N Coatings for Wear Resistant and Structural Applications)

  • Cr-Al-Si-N coatings were deposited on WC-Co substrates by a hybrid coating system of arc ion plating and DC magnet :on sputtering technique in $N_2/Ar$ mixture. The Cr-tll-Si-N coatings were synthesized with different Si contents. Their microstructure and mechanical properties were systematically investigated. The average size of crystallites largely decreases with the increase of Si content compared with Cr-Al-N. The microhardness of Cr-Al-Si-N coatings largely increases from 24 to 55 GPa. The enhanced hardness is believed to originate from the microstructural change by the fine composite microstructure of Cr-Al-N coatings with Si addition. The average friction coefficient of Cr-Al-Si-N coatings decreases from 0.84 to 0.45 with increasing Si content up to $16\;at.\%$.

  • 하동고령토($Al_2O_3-SiC-C$)를 출발원료로하여 AlSiCa내화재 원료를 합성하였다. 하동고령토와 탄소분말을 혼합하여 수소분위기하에서 반응시킨결과, $1300^{\circ}C$에서$Al_2O_3-SiC-C$ 복합체가 힙성되기 시작하여$1400^{\circ}C$에서 완전 합성되었고, $SiO_2$에 대한 최적carbon량은 mole비로 1:4이었다. 합성시 알루미나 용기에 탄소분말을 충전시키지 않을 때는 미합성부분이 없이 밝은 녹색을 띈 $\beta$-SiC(cubic form) 를 형성함을 확인하였다.

SiCp/6061Al합금복합재료의 시효거동 (Age-Hardening Behavior of SiCp Reinforced 6061 Aluminum Alloy Composites)

  • 석출경화형 6061Al기지합금과 SiC입자크기를 0.7$\mu\textrm{m}$ 및 7.0$\mu\textrm{m}$로 변화시켜 강화한 SiCp/6061Al 합금복합재료의 시효 거동을 경도측정, DSC 시험 및 TEM관찰을 통하여 조사하였다. 17$0^{\circ}C$에서 등온시효시 6061Al기지합금에 비하여 복합화한 0.7$\mu\textrm{m}$SiCp/6061Al합금복합재료 및 7.0$\mu\textrm{m}$SiCP/6061Al합금복합재료에서 최고경도에 도달하는 시간이 짧았으며, 또한 강화재의 크기가 큰 7.0$\mu\textrm{m}$SiCp/6061Al합금복합재료에서 시효촉진이 보다 크게 나타났다. 이것은 복합화 및 SiC입자크기 증가에 따른 전위 밀도 상승에 기인한다. 6061Al기지합금 및 복합재료에서 최고시효처리시의 주강화상은 봉상의 중간상 $\beta$(Mg$_2$Si)이며,$\beta$상 생성의 활성화에너지는 복합화 및 SiG입자크기의 증가에 따라 감소되었다

XPS와 SIMS를 이용한 PSG/SiO2/Al-1%Si 적층 박막내의 Na 게터링 분석 (Analysis of the Na Gettering in PSG/SiO2/Al-1%Si Multilevel Thin Films using XPS and SIMS)

  • In order to investigate the Na gettering, PSG/$SiO_2$/Al-1%Si multilevel thin films were fabricated. DC magnetron sputter techniques and APCVD (atmosphere pressure chemical vapor deposition) were utilized for the deposition of Al-1%Si thin films and PSG/$SiO_2$ passivations, respectively. Heat treatment was carried out at $300^{\circ}C$ for 5 h in air. SIMS (secondary ion mass spectrometry) depth profiling and XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) analysis were used to determine the distribution and binding energies of Na, Al, Si, O, P and other elements throughout the PSG/$SiO_2$/Al-1%Si multilevel thin films. Na peaks were mainly observed at the the PSG/$SiO_2$ interface and at the $SiO_2$/Al-1%Si interfaces. Na impurity gettering in PSG/$SiO_2$/Al-1%Si multilevel thin films is considered to be caused by a segregation type of gettering. The chemical state of Si and O elements in PSG passivation appears to be $SiO_2$.

듀오캐스트 Al-Mg-Si/Al 하이브리드 합금의 미세조직과 기계적 변형 특성 (Microstructure and Mechanical Behavior of Al-Mg-Si/Al Hybrid Alloy by Duo-casting)

  • Al-Mg-Si/Al hybrid alloy was prepared by Duo-casting and the mechanical behavior was evaluated based on their microstructure and mechanical properties. The hybrid aluminum alloy included the Al-Mg-Si alloy with fine eutectic structure, pure Al with the columnar and equiaxed crystals, and the macro-interface existing between Al-Mg-Si alloy and pure Al. The growth of columnar grains in pure Al occurred from the macro-interface. The tensile strength, 0.2% proof stress and bending strength of the hybrid aluminum alloy were almost similar to those of pure Al, and the elongation was much higher than the Al-Mg-Si alloy. The fracture of the hybrid alloy took place in pure Al side, indicating that the macro-interface was well bonded and the mechanical behavior strongly depends on the limited deformation in pure Al side.

  • Al2O3-coated SiC composite powder and mechanically mixed Al2O3-SiC composite powder were synthesized using Al-isopropoxide and commercial SiC as the starting materials. Experiment results showed that the sinterability of Al2O3-coated SiC composite powder was more improved than the mechanically mixed Al2O3-SiC composite powder by the effect of homogeneous coating of alumina around SiC particles. Hence, the mechanical properties of the former was also much more improved than the latter.

In-situ Vacuum Hot Press 공정을 이용한 SiCp/Al 복합재료의 제조 (Fabrication of SiCp/Al Alloy Composites by In-situ Vacuum Hot Press Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 특별하게 고안된 In-situ VHP 제조 공정을 이용하여 상온에서 $500^{\circ}C$까지의 진공 열간 압축과 canning 작업 없이 $520^{\circ}C$에서 연속 압출옳 하여 Sicp/pure Al과 SiCp/2024Al MMCs를 제조하였다. 복합재료의 인장강도와 미세구조에 영향을 주는 SiC 입자크기, 체적률, 압출비에 대해서 조사하였다. 압출비 10:1의 경우에는 SiCp/pure Al과 SiCp/2024Al 복합재료 둘 다 건전한 외형과 SiCp의 일정한 분산을 가지면서 SiCp의 균열이 없는 좋은 미세 구조를 가지고 있었다. 그러나 압출비 16:1의 경우에는 체적률이 증가할수록 파괴된 SiC 입자의 수가 증가하였으며 2024Al 기지내의 복합재료와 순수한 Al 기지재 복합재료를 서로 비교하였다. 동일한 체적률과 압출비의 경우에는 SiCp의 크기가 작은 복합재료가 SiCp가 큰 복합재료보다 인장강도가 더 높았다.

고압 금형주조용 Al-9%Si-0.3%Mg 합금의 Fe, Mn 함량이 인장특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Fe and Mn Contents on the Tensile Property of Al-9%Si-0.3%Mg Alloy for High Pressure Die Casting)

  • Effect of Fe and Mn contents on the tensile properties has been studied in Al-9wt%Si-0.3wt%Mg alloy. As Fe content of Al-9wt%Si-0.3wt%Mg-0.5wt%Mn alloy increased from 0.15wt% to 0.45wt%, tensile strength of as-cast alloy decreased from 192 MPa to 174 MPa, and elongation of the alloy also decreased from 4.8% to 4.2%. Decrease of these properties can be explained as the formation of plate shape, ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$ phase with high Fe/Mn ratio of the alloy. However when Mn content of Al-9wt%Si-0.3wt%Mg-0.45wt%Fe alloy increased from 0.3wt% to 0.5wt%, tensile strength of T6 aged alloy increased from 265 MPa to 275 MPa, and elongation of the alloy increased from 2.3% to 3.6%. These improvements attribute to chinese script, ${\alpha}-Al_{15}(Mn,Fe)_3Si_2$ phase shape-modified from ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$ phase with low Fe/Mn ratio of the alloy.

  • The electrochemical characteristics of Al-Si casting alloys (Al-10%Si, Al-9%Si, Al-7%Si) in 3.5% NaCl solution at room temperature was studied using potentiodynamic techniques. The electrochemical values of corrosion potential($E_c$), corrosion current density($I_c$) and corrosion rate(mpy) were examined. The Al-Si alloys had several compounds such as $Mg_2Si$, ${\pi}$-$Al_8Si_6Mg_2Fe$ and $Al_2CuMg$ which could affect corrosion resistance significantly. The potentiodynamic polarization curve exhibited typical active behavior in anodic polarization curve. The major corrosion mechansim for the Al-Si alloys were pitting and grain boundary corrosion. As increasing Si and Cu contents, their corrosion resistance was decreased.

하이브리드 공정으로 제조한 TiAlSiN 박막의 특성 (Mechanical Properties of TiAlSiN films Coated by Hybrid Process)

  • In this study, TiAlSiN coatings have been successfully synthesized on stainless steel and tungsten carbide substrate by a hybrid coating method employing a cathodic arc and a magnetron sputtering source. TiAl and Si target were vaporized with the cathodic arc source and the magnetron sputtering source, respectively. Process gas was the mixture of nitrogen and argon gas. With the increase of Si content, the crystallinity and the grain size of TiAlSiN film was decreased. At the Si content of more than 8 at.%, grain size of TiAlSiN was saturated at around 2 nm. The hardness value of the TiAlSiN film increased with incorporation of Si, and had the maximum value of ~ 3,233 Hv at the Si content of 9.2 at.%. The oxidation resistance of TiAlSiN film was enhanced with the increase of Si content.
