EDMS를 이용한 인천국제공항의 대기오염 배출량 산정과 주변지역에 미치는 영향 평가 (Assessment of Air Pollution and Estimation of Emission from Incheon International Airport by EDMS)

  • Air traffic increased 12% annually in Korea since 1988 after the Olympics, this rate is two times than the rate of the world average. In order to accommodate fast growing aviation demand, Incheon International Airport is operated at Yongjong Island since March, 2001. The Incheon airport project will continue till 2020. After the final phase in 2020, Incheon International Airport will handle 100 million passengers, 530,000 flights and 7 million tons of cargo annually. In this study, air pollution from aircraft and other sources are calculated and assessed in Incheon International Airport area by EDMS(Emission and Dispersion Modeling System), which is a combined emission and dispersion model for airport. EDMS could also be considered power plant, incinerator and aircraft support equipment such as ground support equipment, aerospace ground equipment, auxiliary power units. And EDMS is recommended as preferred model for air quality assessment of the airport area by U.S. EP A. The result of this study shows that NOx emission from aircraft and support utility is estimated as 27,000 - 35,000 ton/yr and Namdong-Gu area in Incheon city is affected as 30-60 ppb by the NOx emission from these sources in 2020, the final phase of Incheon international airport construction.

  • One major safety issue of surface operations is the occurrence of runway incursions. Runway incursions are the consequence of multiple operational and/or environmental factors. Human error is known to contribute to almost every runway incursion. One major contributing factor for runway incursion is crew's lack of situational awareness during airport surface operations, induced by weather considerations, by complex airport factors or by crew technique itself; it is also caused by ATC issues. Various airport factors may affect pilot situational awareness, distract the crew, or lead to crew confusion. The recommendations to avoid runway incursions are manifold; Proper Crew's CRM/TEM skills, adequate communication technique, proper knowledge of airport surface markings, lights and signs and preparation of preparation of expected taxi out/in routing. Also runway incursion risk assessment on specific airport before flight may lead to aware of risk level and contribute to prevent runway incursion.

  • The strengthened aviation security measurements caused by increased terror threat all around the world have air passengers annoyed by uneasy treatment and some delayed process. The service level of air travel and competitiveness of airlines industry has been weakened also. The aviation security process is mainly conducted at an airport. The threat level of airport is not usually same airport to airport, and the quality of aviation security activity is neither same. However, ICAO requires every international airport to conduct similar process to ensure aviation security without considering situational difference of each airport. The paper has objectives to develop reasonable security measurements based on risk management concept. It studied the ways of achieving target level of security of an airport, considering the threat situation of the airport and its ability to conduct security procedures.

  • This paper presents a reliability assessment for Inchon International Airport. Reliability of electrical parts and load points is calculated through Network reduction method and Failure modes & effective analysis method. And reliability indices of distribution system is calculated. By using reliability and reliability indices, assessment of distribution system of Inchon International Airport is executed. This results makes it possible to improve reliability.

  • The RSA is intended to prevent the following five types of events from becoming an accident: landing overruns, landing undershoots, landing veer-offs, takeoff overruns and takeoff veer-offs. The improved models are based on evidence from worldwide accidents and incidents that occurred during the past 27 years. The analysis utilizes historical data from the specific airport and allows the user to take into consideration specific operational conditions to which movements are subject, as well as the actual or planned RSA conditions in terms of dimensions, configuration, type of terrain, and boundaries defined by existing obstacles. This paper shows how to apply the improved models for Risk Assessment of Runway Safety Areas (Airport cooperative research program(ACRP) Report 50) into an airport and the outcome differences between the old models based on ACRP report 3-Analysis of aircraft overrun and undershoots for runway safety areas and the new models from ACRP report 50 in the specific airport.

  • Recently, all organizations are experiencing a newly changed standard for their competitiveness. One of the elements in the standard is the sustainable reputation or responsibility. Thus excellent corporations have reinforced not only economic prosperity but also environmental and social responsibilities, which results in the appearance of sustainable reputation or responsibility management. At this point, this paper have nominated assessment factors which will contribute to the sustainable reputation competitiveness in Incheon International Airport Corporation.

A-SMGCS 기능 위험 평가 사례 연구 (Case Study for Functional Hazard Assessment of A-SMGCS)

  • 안전과 관련된 CNS/ATM 시스템의 개발은 안전 평가 활동을 필요로 한다. 안전 평가에는 기능 위험 평가를 포함하며, 이는 시스템의 위험한 상황을 감소시키기 위한 시스템 안전 요구사항을 도출하는데 영향을 끼친다. 본 논문은 A-SMGCS에 대한 기능 위험 평가에 대한 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 관련연구인 Eurocontrol과 EMMA에서 수행한 연구를 분석하였으며 Eurocontrol 및 EMMA의 기능 위험 평가 체계를 통합하였다. FHA(functional hazard assessment) 범위뿐만 아니라 FHA를 위한 여러 가정 사항들을 인천국제공항에 대해서 정의하였다. 29개의 위험원이 식별되었고, 각각에 대해 심각도가 평가되었다. 그리고 위험원에 대한 노출빈도와 안전 목적이 이벤트 트리 분석 방법을 사용하여 분석되었다. 본 연구 결과와 EMMA의 결과에 대한 차이를 분석하였으며 또한 본 연구에서의 평가 결과에 대해서도 검토 하였다.

항공기 배출량 산정 방법에 따른 공항주변 대기오염 영향분석연구 (Impact of Air Pollutant Emissions from Aircraft on the Air Pollution around Airport)

  • Emissions from aircraft have impacts on the air pollution of airport and the surrounding area. There are methods of emissions calculated as Tier 1, Tier2, Tier 3A and Tier 3B. Thus, this study investigated emissions from aircraft at the Gimhae International Airport using EDMS(Emissions & Dispersion Modeling System) program. Results of estimation from aviation emissions, Tier 3B considering all parts which can occur at the airport has the largest amount emissions. In order to understand the relation between aviation emissions and distribution of ozone concentration over airport area, numerical evaluation were carried out. Although the difference of surface ozone distribution between numerical assessment with and without aviation emissions was little, effects of air pollution at airport area from aviation emissions of NOx and VOCs.

공항의 지속가능성 평가모형의 개발 (A Develpment of System Dynamics Model for Airport Sustainability Assessment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 시스템의 지속가능성 개념을 공항에 적용하여 공항의 지속가능성 평가모형을 개발하는 것이다. 분석방법은 시스템 사고를 기본적 틀로 하고 있는 시스템 다이나믹스(System Dynamics) 기법을 사용하여 공항 시스템의 모델을 구축하고, 구축된 모델을 이용하여 분석공항 및 배후지역의 실제 데이터를 적용, 지속가능성을 평가하는 것이다. 시뮬레이션 결과 공항의 활동으로 인해 공항 및 배후직역은 경제적으로는 지속가능하나 사회, 환경적으로는 지속 가능하지 않은 것으로 나타나 향후 이를 개선시키기 위한 정책이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 현재의 상황에서 공항개발을 3년 앞당겨야 항공수요를 매끄럽게 처리할 수 있는 것으로 나타났고, 대기오염물질 배출량을 최소 3% 저감시킬 경우 배후지역개발에 따른 항공화물 물동량 및 인천지역 GRDP의 6% 증가범위 내에서 공항 및 배후지역의 경제, 사회, 환경 측면에서 모두 지속가능한 것으로 나타났다.
