Successful implementations of DevOps practices significantly improvise software efficiency, collaboration and security. Most of the organizations are adopting DevOps for faster and quality software delivery. DevOps brings development and operation teams together to overcome all kind of communication gaps responsible for software failures. It relies on different sets of alternative tools to automate the tasks of continuous integration, testing, delivery, deployment and monitoring. Although DevOps is followed for being very reliable and responsible environment for quality software delivery yet it lacks many quantifiable aspects to prove it on the top of other traditional and agile development methods. This research evaluates quantitative performance of DevOps and traditional/ agile development methods based on software metrics. This research includes three sample projects or code repositories to quantify the results and for DevOps integrated selective tool chain; current research considers our earlier proposed and implemented DevOps hybrid model of integrated automation tools. For result discussion and validation, tabular and graphical comparisons have also been included to retrieve best performer model. This comparative and evaluative research will be of much advantage to our young researchers/ students to get well versed with automotive environment of DevOps, latest emerging buzzword of development industries.
Extreme programming is the most representative methodology among agile software development methodologies that is agile in business environment which change fast. As software industry is matured, usability of software quality characteristics is emphasized gradually, but effort to obtain usability in extreme programming is insufficient. In this paper, three things lacked in extreme programming are reinforced. First, roles of user interface expert are defined. Second, usability testing method to extreme programming are introduced. Third, development process and products are proposed. The proposed plan is validated by four methods, which analyze supporting software development life cycle, analyze satisfaction of CMM key process areas, analyze satisfaction of CMM practices, and analyze development of green tea shopping mail. Green tea shopping mall is improved 23% in the estimated running time, 21% in the learnability. Also, usability is improved 18% in the heuristic evaluation and 16% in the questionnaire method.
Medical devices separated by a committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC TC (Technical Committee) 62 medical electrical equipment being promoted by the International standards. Actually, a lot of standards were existed, but many national and international standards for medical devices were lacking in practical standards that can be applied to their development. Most international standards were focused in electrical and mechanical safety of medical devices. Therefore, there were few practical standards which contain essential performance evaluation. Although medical device regulations do not enforce a fixed lifecycle model, activities are presented in a sequential manner, thus hinting at a waterfall process. Meanwhile, for a decade or more, software teams have benefitted from agile development methods. Several medical device manufacturers have adopted agile practices while keeping development in compliance with regulations, but conflicts arise and decisions have to be taken in favor of agility or formality. However, if there are new practical standards of medical devices, it must be possible to promote the medical devices industry in their nation. To do this, there is a need to develop a new standard could apply to the international market through the analysis of the medical device related technology. Consequently, new standards such as NP (New proposal) or NWIP (New Work Item Proposal) should be developed through international standardization of medical device technology.

Numerous solution methods for scheduling problems such as part dispatching problem, operation sequence problem have been suggested as a means to be embedded in hierarchical or centralized shop floor control. Under the preceding control philosophies, however, response to changes in the shop floor status is quite slow and timely decision is sometimes impossible. Moreover, the control software becomes too large and it is almost impossible to modify the control software when the configuration of the shop floor changes. In agile manufacturing which emerged recently to cope with quick response and easy modifiability when unexpected changes occur, a new control policy is needed. CSCW[Computer Supported Cooperative Work] based shop floor control casts a different view on scheduling problems. Decisions are made locally when requested and useful information is scattered among agents for its efficient use. Adaptation is easy because agents are -'plug compatible or portable. In this paper, scheduling problems occurring under CSCW based shop floor control are identified and characterized. Traditional scheduling problems are reviewed from the CSCW viewpoint. All the control entities involved in the shop floor can be found and used to defined agents. With these entities and CSCW concept, possible scheduling problems are identified.
Agile development is mentioned a lot by developers these days. XP or Scrum is one of the popular development processes, and it says that unit test automation would drive an agile development successful. The success of unit test automation depends on how well to compare an execution result to its own expected result. that is why this paper focuses on the comparison part. This paper introduces how to build test codes for unit testing, and then concludes with mentioning two considerations of unit testing automation. First, test codes for void-typed methods need Mock Framework to monitor their behavior. Second, the comparison of execution results and expected results is hard to implement in case of testing void-typed methods. We check every sentences of a test path to decide if the testing is fail or pass.

Digital Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital environments representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing system including manufacturing resources, processes and products. A digital virtual factory as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential for successful applications of this technology. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital virtual factory by measuring and 3-D CAD modeling using parametric methods. Specific parameters of each objects were decided by object-oriented schema of the digital factory. It is expected that this method is very useful for constructions of a digital factory, and helps to manage diverse information and re-use 3D models.

The Testing Frontier Capability Assessment Model (TCAM) is based on ISO/IEC 9126, TMMi and TPI. Since ISO/IEC 9126, TMMi and TPI were made over 10 years ago, TCAM faces the problem that it can not assess and analyze the capability of small businesses that employ new software development methods or processes, for example Agile, TDD(Test Driven Development), App software, and Web Software. In this paper, a method to improve the problem is proposed. The paper is composed of the following sections: 1) ISO/IEC 9126, ISO/IEC 25010 and ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 part 2 review 2) TCAM review 3) software product quality perspective comparison, and analysis between ISO/IEC 9126, ISO/IEC 25010 and TCAM 4) comparison, and analysis between ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 part2 and TCAM and 5) proposal for the improvement of TCAM.

For agile production methods, manufacturing system requires development of a motion controller which has flexibility of general-purpose motion controller and productivity of specialized-purpose one. In this study we developed a flowchart programming development environment for motion language and process control. A controller designed on this environment can be used as a general purpose motion controller of a machine tool. Design of control programming based on a flowchart has the advantages such as reducing the programming time and improving intuitiveness of interface for users. We created the flowchart-based platform using OPC communication
