The Effects of Service Qualities on Customer Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention in Coffee Shops (커피전문점의 서비스품질이 고객만족과 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to classify the quality factors of coffee shop customers with the service quality based on the SERVQUAL, selection attributes, and service qualities used in previous studies. The path structure of coffee shops' quality factors → customer satisfaction → trust → behavioral intention was analyzed in order to confirm the system of coffee shops' quality factors. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey of was conducted with college students of Kangwon University. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed, with 232 collected. Of them, Excluding 36 respondents' because of incomplete answers and missing values, 196 responses were used in the final analysis. Empirical analysis was made through factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, simple regression analysis and mediating regression analysis by using Statistics Package SPSS 19.0. Results - The results are as follows: Firstly, coffee shops' quality factors were classified into seven categories like service encounter quality, product quality, cleanliness, overall interior, purchase quality, convenience, and aesthetics. Secondly, service encounter quality, product quality, purchase quality, and aesthetics had a positive effect on customer satisfaction, respectively. Thirdly, it showed that service encounter quality, product quality, overall interior, purchase quality, and aesthetics had a positive effect on trust, respectively. Fourthly, customer satisfaction had a positive effect on behavioral intention. Lastly, after verifying the effect relations of trust between customer satisfaction about coffee shop and behavioral intention, customer satisfaction has a positive effect on trust and trust has a positive effect on behavioral intention. On the other hand, trust did not have a mediating effect between customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. But, cleanliness, convenience, and overall interior did not have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Conclusions - Coffee shop consumers put importance on price, discount systems, taste, and freshness, but more on courteous and kind services of coffee shop staff or comfortable and calming atmosphere of inner space. Thereby, coffee shop marketers need to take factors like service encounter quality and aesthetics into more consideration. In addition, customer satisfaction has an effect on trust, while trust on behavioral intention, even though trust is not mediated between customer satisfaction and behavior intention.

  • This study aims at classifying and analyzing the business models of reverse overseas direct purchasing through online shopping-malls. After analyzing the current status of the reverse overseas direct purchasing online markets, this study identifies relevant critical business factors and synthesizes prior studies to construct and analyse the business models. This study proposes that the business models can be classified into five types according to the operation modes and three types according to the delivery methods. So theoretically 15 business models can be identified. For each business model this study analyzes the characteristics and the pros & cons. It also suggests deployment strategies for companies by considering cost reduction, brand establishment, customer management, customer aquisition, and easiness from the business perspective. From the customers perspective, cost reduction, reliability, royalty, ease to purchase, and accessibility can be considered according to the types of operation mode. The main contribution of this study is to provide the basic classifications and structures of reverse overseas direct purchasing business models systematically. As the result, our study evaluates the business models that which one is better than others in a situation in terms of company and customer. Lastly, we talk about limits and future prospects of the study.

  • The market structure and consumer characteristics are changing dynamically according to internet shopping industry developing based on Web 2.0. But, there is absent typical online service after 'Cyworld.' The social shopping sites based on social networking reflect to present phenomenon that collective intellect, information sharing, participate in making information. The social shopping sites are not limited in particular shopping sites but include all of sites in online. So, consumers can copy various products and display on their own blog provided from social shopping sites and make some purchase reviews and any comments about products can lead transactions among social shopping sites. So, it might be a one of meta-shopping mall like 'Naver.' As the social shopping sites are new form, we just applied to TAM theory to figure out acceptance factors using SEM. The perceived enjoyment affect to usefulness, ease of use and using intension. The perceived ease of use also affect to usefulness and the usefulness affect to using intension positively. But the perceived ease of use was for nothing in using intension. Finally, we provided managerial implications to activate domestic online shopping industry and theoritical meaning using extended TAM.

  • Purpose - The prior literature indicated that green consumerism encouragements and programs have led to strict standards against environmental issues, thus reducing emissions from motors and engines and improving clean-burning energy options. The present study seeks to elaborate on the responsibility of ecological education in amplifying potential green consumers. Research design, Data, and methodology -The justification of the qualitative literature method used in this research is essential because, through the extensive explanation, justification and description of the methods used, researchers can enhance the trustworthiness of the research to a particular or designated audience. Result - Environmental education helps customers worldwide recognize the barriers to purchasing green products at every purchase level. Prior studies pointed out that after environmental education, consumers are much more willing to go greener in their consumption and safeguard the environment. Customers want to act green; however, they anticipate companies to lead the way. Conclusion - This research suggests that reusing prevailing resources creatively implies that fewer dollars are spent buying novel stock to generate green products. Although establishing a green company is expensive, it saves a lot of cash over time. Greening procedures can lead to efficiency gains by minimizing energy costs, permitting companies to acquire green tax credits.

Interrelations Among Snack Preference, Purchasing Behaviors and Intake in Upper Grade Elementary School Students - Compared by the Gender and TV Watching Time - (초등학교 고학년에서 간식 선호도, 간식구매행동, 간식섭취와의 관련성 - 성별과 TV시청시간을 중심으로 -)

  • This study was conducted to examine the interrelations among snack preference, purchasing behavior and intake of fifth and sixth grade students in elementary schools in Gyeongnam province. Frequency of snack intake was the highest in those who reported 'once a day' (45.6%) snack habit. Longer-time television viewers also showed higher frequency of snack intake than shorter-time viewers. Thirty-three percent of students purchased snacks by themselves and the frequency of snack purchasing had a significant positive relationship with TV watching time (p < 0.01). The main reason, place and time of eating snacks were 'hunger' (79.2%), their home environment (50.9%) and 'after school hours' (89.7%). The favorite snack was 'ice cream' and, this snack habit was significantly different by gender of the child (p < 0.01) and TV watching time (p < 0.01). 'Milk and dairy products' scored highest (3.47) in snack intake frequency among longer-time TV viewers (> 2hr) compared to shorter-time TV viewers and this difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001). The snack preference score was correlated positively (r = 0.454) with the intake frequency for snack and its explanation power ($R^2$) was 20.5%. With regard to snack purchase behaviors, the scores of 'checking the expiration date' and 'comparing the price with similar products' were high (in what group?). Female students (p < 0.001) and shorter-time TV viewers (< 2hr) (p < 0.01) had a more reasonable purchasing behavior. The total score of preference was significantly higher (p < 0.05) in shorter-timeTV viewers (< 2hr). In the correlation between snack purchasing behaviors and intake frequency, attractiveness (r = 0.208, p < 0.001) and preference (r = 0.330, p < 0.001) showed significant positive correlations. The result of regression analysis, preference only was selected ($R^2$= 0.108).

The Buying Behavior of Knitwear according to Appearance Management Attitude of the Male College Students (남자 대학생의 외모관리태도에 따른 니트웨어 구매행동)

  • This study examines the appearance management attitude factor of male college students and groups them according to their characteristics. Then this research analyzes their interest in knitwear, buying behavior, and characteristics to see what kind of differences exist. The results of the research are as follows: First, after conducting a factor analysis to identify the appearance management attitude of male college students, 3 factors emerged(sought personality, pursued trends, and appearance interest). Second, as a result grouping the students according to their attitude. It is created 3 groups(fashionista group, personality group, and appearance interest group). Third, for the interest in knitwear, the fashionista group had the highest interest in knitwear, with a preferred brand when purchasing. Fourth, the fashionista group that values personality and latest trends was more likely to purchase knitwear than the personality group or the appearance interest group. Finally, the majority preferred solid colors. Over 50% of the students preferred knits without any patterns. Also, the most preferred 100% cotton. As this survey was only surveyed in Seoul and Gyounggi areas. The next research requires to be surveyed in a more comprehensive area. Additionally, male college students must more effectively be segmented and surveyed to get accurate results.

A Study on the Actual Condition of Using Low-priced Cosmetics and on the Purchasing Behavior in Female Undergraduates (여대생들의 저가 화장품에 대한 사용실태 및 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • Women starts to make up after high school graduation. They have low economic power. But they select cosmetics by themselves and have high demand. Therefore, they can be major customers of low-priced cosmetics and it can be regarded as independent cosmetics market. Thus, this study analyzes the purchasing propensity of lowpriced cosmetics in female undergraduates, who are main targets of low-priced cosmetics, satisfies the more customers desire through further segmenting the targets, suggests a continuous developmental plan for low-priced cosmetics through securing potential customers and segmenting market, and analyzes and typologizes female undergraduates lifestyle. The aim is to grasp the actual condition of using the low-priced cosmetics and the satisfaction with purchase, and to utilize it as basic date of inducing right consumption culture of female undergraduates. For this study, 305 reliable questionnaires are analyzed from the total 320 questionnaires and spss win 15.0 program was used. The results were as follows. About 90.1 percent of female undergraduates had experience using low-priced cosmetics and standard of priority selection was the quality of low-priced cosmetics. The main reason not to use was low price image.

The Influence of Customer Perception about Food Safety on the Use of Restaurant Food Delivery or Takeout (식품안전성에 대한 인식이 배달 또는 테이크아웃 음식 이용에 미치는 영향)

  • After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an explosive increase in restaurant meal delivery or takeout. The purpose of this study was to analyze the consumer perception of food safety and its influence on the purchase of delivery or takeout food from restaurants. This study, the 2020 Consumer Behavior Survey for Food (CBSF), was conducted from June 10 to August 21 2020. A total of 6,355 responses were used for the analysis. The results were as follows: First, the differences in consumer perception about food safety were analyzed according to whether they used delivery or takeout. Concern about food safety, satisfaction with dietary habits, and the ability to maintain safe dietary habits were higher in the non-user group. Except for food at home, the perception about food safety at other locations was higher in the user group. Food hazards such as antibiotics were perceived to be safer in the user group. Second, the perception of food safety affecting use of delivery or takeout was analyzed. It was found that the usage of delivery or takeout increased when the perception of the safety of home meal replacement (HMR), delivery or takeout food, and the ability to be informed about the harmful factors of agricultural products increased. The findings of this study may offer the basis for the food and food service industry to consider safety issues seriously and develop strategies to lead to feasible practices. Further, this study also supports the direction of the government toward strengthening the safety of new segments which have shown explosive growth in the COVID-19 era.

Spatial Characteristics of Travelling Merchants and Consumers in Chongsan Periodic Markets of Okchon County, Korea (충북(忠北) 옥천군(沃川郡) 청산(靑山) 정기시(定期市) 출시자(出市者)의 공간적(空間的) 특성(特性))

  • This study is to clarify the market cycle of travelling merchants and the spatial behavior of consumer's commodity purchasing. its reasons and purchasing region of each commodity in Chongsan of Chongsan Myun(village) periodic markets, that is one of the lowest central places in Okchon county. The data used are the results of interviews with 58 travelling merchants on June 22 and July 17, 1994, and questionaire survey taken to parents of students of Chongsan middle school of Chongsan Myun in Okchon county. Study area is typical agricultural regions taking the role of central places to provide rural service and is comparatively important periodic markets. Some of findings are summarized as follows: (1) Until 1980's. appearance of closed periodic markets is caused by the population decrease in rural region, income increase, and rising of living level according to the Five Years Planning of Economic Development, appearance of chain stores of agricultural co-coperative and of supermarkets,. changes in distribution mechanisim by increasing consignment volume of agricultural products through agricultural co-coperative, and the development of transportation in Okchon county. These, too, became the reasons for the decline of the Chongsan periodic markets in Okchon county. (2) Most of the travelling merchants visiting the Chongsan periodic markets are in their 50's of age, and they sell the miscellaneous commodities and agricultural products. And about one-fourths of travelling merchants reside in regions with periodic markets and in Okchon of higher order central places. (3) Travelling routes visting periodic markets can be simplified to five types. Major types of travelling routes are Chongsan periodic market$\rightarrow$Wonnam$\rightarrow$Boun, and Chongsan periodic market$\rightarrow$Yungdong$\rightarrow$Yongsan. The patterns of travelling merchants visiting periodic markets are classified into the type of everyday visiting of periodic markets over three days of five days from merchant's residence to market, and the type of merchants or consumers visiting one day's of five days. On days that travelling merchants don't visit periodic markets they purchase the commodities in Seoul, Taejon and Chongju. (4) Consumers who use periodic markets are from thirties to fifties years of age and most of them are employed in agriculture. Consumers visit periodic markets on foot or by bus, and visit two or three times in a month, and mainly purchase the commodities for one or two hours from about ten o'clock in the morning. (5) Consumers purchase the necessaries of life in periodic markets, and other commodities are purchased in Taejon city, Youngdong, and Boun Eup(town). But consumers purchase the goods(convenience goods, shopping goods, and specialied goods) largerly in Chongsan, because additional expense and disadvantage after service with poor transportation service for purchased goods in others regions. Therefore, the hierarchies of central places by the consumer's purchasing behaviour can not be seem in dewellers in Chongsan and Chongseong Myun.

A Study on Food Shopping User Experience Design of Omni-channel (옴니채널에서 식품쇼핑의 사용자 경험 디자인 연구)

  • This study is a food shopping experience of omni-channel. Food threats and healthy living concerns bring different channels in led to increase reasonable way such as various demand. Omni-channels should be premised on understanding customer behavior as well as empirical user types in which considerations including the value of experience and understanding consumer behavior. Online survey result showed that, (1)offline food shopping, major retail store with quality, buy fresh food directly 2~3 times a month (2)online food shopping, e-commerce site with costs, buy fruits & nuts 2~3 times a month. After in-depth interview with eight high quality participants, I analyzed needs for food shopping experience in regard to the four steps food purchasing journey then derived a persona with integral value 'health' and 'diet'. It is classified into two types. One is the primary persona, family and health oriented, considering household money 'saving', and other is secondary persona, work and personal oriented, looking forward to 'automatic supply'. The result of this study provided an insight that help us explore ways to resolve function and services in the context of a healthy and balanced diet for improving food shopping experience of omni-channel.
