A Study on the Teaching of 'Function' utilizing the Graph Art - Case study focusing on the activities of Ulsan WISE Science Camp - (Graph Art를 활용한 함수 지도에 관한 연구 - 울산 WISE 과학캠프활동을 중심으로 한 사례연구 -)

  • In this study, we will develop and implement the teaching program of 'Function', on the subject of "Poster-Making utilizing the Graph Art" in the Math Camp for middle-school students. And we will examine the didactical significance through student's activities and products. The teaching program of 'Function' utilizing the Graph Art can be promoted self-directly the understanding of 'Function' concept and the ability for handling 'Function'. In the process of drawing up the graph art, in particular, this program help students to promote the ability for problem-solving and mathematical thinking, and to communicate mathematically and attain the his own level. Ultimately, this program have a positive influence upon cognitive and affective and areas with regard to mathematics.

The Effect of STEM Integration Education Using Educational Robot on Academic Achievement and Subject Attitude (교육용 로봇을 활용한 STEM 통합교육이 학업성취, 교과태도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of the research is examine the effect of STEM integration education using educatinal robot on academic achievement and subject Attitude of mathematics and science. The participants were 73 students of two classes, sampled from 6th graders of an elementary school. They were divided into a control group who learned a traditional mathematics and sciences education based textbooks and an experimental group who learned STEM integration education using educational robot during 12 sessions. The results are summarized as follows : First, there is a significant difference in academic achievement between two groups. STEM integration education using educational robot based group accomplished higher achievement than textbook based instruction group. Especially, post test analyzes results on the three factors of academic achievement, knowledge, understanding and adaptation, indicate statistically meaningful difference between two groups in understanding and adaptation area except knowledge area. Second, it shows that it greatly affected a positive influence on experimental group's attitude toward subjects in affective area. So we can expect STEM integration education using educational robot to be an alternative for stimulating children's higher learning interest on mathematics and science subject.

Human-Technology Integration for Implementing Electronic Approval System in a Hospital (의료기관 전자결제시스템 도입을 위한 Human-Technology Integration에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of study is to understand human-technology integration mechanism by using the study model that takes the core concept and motivation assumptions of technology acceptance model(TAM) into account. This study identifies three motivation mechanisms in adopting or using computer mediated communication(CMC) tool for work. The mechanism comprises with extrinsic, extrinsic motivation, and subjective norm pressure. One hospital with 430 beds and 367 human power was identified and we administered the questionnaire during their work hours. There is 32.4% response rate. The fitting index of the study model surpass the acceptable level, GFI = .980 for none-users, GFI =.986 for users, NNFI = .973 for none-users, and NNFI = .989 for users. In the case of none-users, perceived ease of use determines perceived usefulness that explains behavioral intention to use. As a result, adotpers' usage motivation is based on extrinsic motivation that does not consider their affective factor, attitude, in use of CMC. Users considers their attitudes as the mediating factor of all behavioral beliefs for using CMC continually. Thus, users are likely to depend their adoption behaviors on their affective factor. Moreover, users' behavioral intention is subject to pressures of use from other persons who are important to them, such as supervisor, director, or boss. Achieving human-technology integration in a hospital may cause cost saving and work efficiency. However, the success of information system should base on a profound understanding of employees' adoption behaviors in rejecting, adopting, using, continually using of IT, and organization culture in using IT.

A Meta-Analytic Review of Effects of Brain-Based Education (뇌기반 교육의 효과에 대한 메타분석)

  • This study aims to investigate effects of brain-based learning. 27 primary studies were selected through rigorous search process and analyzed through meta-analytic methods. Research findings are as follows. First, the total effect size was .67. Second, the effect of dependent variables was academic achievement, cognitive domain, and affective domain in order. Third, with respect to types of cognitive domain, the effect was self-regulation, creativity, competence, communication, and research ability in order. Fourth, the effect of affective domains was sociality, learning interest, and subject attitude in order. Fifth, regarding development of cognitive ability, the effect size was combined, brain training, learning environments, and right brain activities in order. Sixth, the effect of learning activities was memory improvement and attention enhancement in order.

  • How does the youth feel the sea affairs\ulcorner Concerning this question, this paper aims to measure the images of the youth toward the sea affairs - the sea, the ship and the seafarer and to examined the above subject. As sample 3, 250 students of middle and high school were selected by considering geographical environment. The data obtained using Semantic Differential Method were analyzed by principal component analysis, and the obtained factor scores were examined the significance of difference between sex, age and geographical environment. By introducing the principal component analysis, the authors extracted from each of the images, that is, factors of dynamics and affection to the image on these a and the former the factors and pleasure on the ship, and also the former two factors and factor of professional evaluation on the seafarer, The following results are obtained. 1) In the image of the sea, dynamic image of the student in high school were higher than the of the student in middle school in spite of geographic environment and affective image were opposite. 2) In the images of the ship, affective image of the student in middle school and high school in inland were high than the of the male and female student in near the sea. And also, male female students in middle school and male student s in high school of inland showed the highest score to the pleasure image. 3) In the image of the seafare, professional evaluation of the female student in middle school were higher than the others, but the students in high school showed the highest score to dynamic image. Especially, in the case of the majority of students in high school living in the city or town near the, their images of the seafarer were not so good in spite of their explorative experiences about the sea affairs.

The Meta-Analysis on Effects of Python Education for Adolescents (청소년 대상 파이썬(Python) 활용 교육의 효과에 대한 메타분석)

  • This study intends to examine effects of python education for adolescents. 6 primary studies were chosen through careful search process and investigated through meta-analysis. Research findings were as follows. The total effect size was 0.684. Second, the effect sizes of dependent variables were academic achievement 0.871, cognitive domain 0.625, and affective domain 0.428 in order. Third, for cognitive domain, the effect sizes were self-efficacy 0.833, problem-solving 0.283, computing thinking 0.276, and coding competency 0.251 in order. Fourth, for affective domain, the effect sizes were learning interest 0.560 and programming interest 0.417 in order. Fifth, regarding school level, the effect sizes were middle school 0.851, high school 0.585, and college 0.435 in order. Finally, for subject areas, the effect sizes were mathematics 1.057, design 0.595, information 0.585, and software 0.28 in order.

A Case Study on Student Self-Evaluation of Wrong Answers in School Mathematics (수학 교과에서의 학생의 오답원인 자기평가에 관한 사례 연구)

  • This study is to investigate the change of intelligent and affective domains through the student self-evaluation to identify causes of wrong answers. Through this evaluation, students could have opportunities to solve the given mathematical problems basically and to reflect their problem-solving process, and further to recognize which mathematical content(concepts or expressions, symbols, etc.) led them to solve the problems incorrectly or wrong. Through this process, they would correct their wrong process and answers and to reinforce the prerequisite knowledges relevant to the problems, and furthermore, to enhance problem-solving abilities. To accomplish this, this study was executed as a case study on the subject of four tenth graders. The subject consisted of two boys and two girls. In this study, three essay types of mathematical problems in tenth grade level were chosen from several domestic tests in Korea. Based on the original three essay type of problems, three types of similar problems, namely equivalent problem, similar problem, and isomorphic problems were reconstructed, respectively by the researchers. The subjects were guided to solve the original three problems, and they corrected their wrong parts of the first problem of the three problems. They solved an equivalent problem of the first problem and executed self evaluation and also corrected wrong parts. Next, they dealt with a similar problem of the first problem and executed self evaluation and also corrected wrong parts. Next, while dealing with an isomorphic problem of the first problem, the subjects did the same things. Thus, for the second and third original problems, the study was implemented in the same way. To explore their intelligent and affective domains through student self-evaluation in-depth, the subjects were interviewed formally before and after conducting the experiment and interviewed informally two times, and the recordings were audio-typed.

Development and Application of Instruction Program using 3D Sketching Software for 'Planning for Residential Space' Unit of NCS-based on Interior Design Subject (NCS 실내디자인 과목의 '주거공간 계획하기' 단원에서 3차원 스케치 소프트웨어를 활용한 수업 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • In recent years, space planning ability using 3D sketch software is required in the working field of interior design. However, vocational high school do not respond appropriately to changes in the industry, because the class of vocational high school consists of hands-on practical classes and 2D CAD based classes. There is a shortage of 3D sketch software-based instruction programs that can improve students' spatial planning skills. Therefore, this study is to develop instruction program using 3D sketch software for 'Planning for Residential Space' unit of NCS-based on interior design subject and to find out the effect on students' academic achievement by applying to vocational high school class. The 3d sketch software based instructional program developed in this study was developed through four stages of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation according to the PDIE model process. The experimental design model used nonequivalent group posttest-only design in this study. Experiments were conducted on vocational high school students in construction and 9 hours of interior design subjects were applied. After the experiments, students were tested for academic achievement in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas. As a result, the instruction program using the 3d sketch program developed in this study was found to be more effective in improving students' academic achievement than existing manual instruction program in both cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas.

A Becoming-Nonhuman Animal in the Neurological State of Exception: Black Swan and Birdman (신경학적 예외상태에서 비인간적 동물-되기: <블랙스완>과 <버드맨>)

  • In the contemporary American cinematic landscape, there is a distinctive tendency to depict the disturbing ways in which characters with brain damages perceive, remember, and think about the world. Despite its attempts to examine the socio-political implications of these characters' subjectivities, the previous scholarship on this trend of film was limited in being either too pessimistically deterministic or too euphorically optimistic. Critically reading neuroscientific discourses on the brain-damaged subject from the perspective of Giorgio Agamben's critique of biopolitics, this paper explores how the contemporary American cinema of the impaired brain attempts to mediate the neurologically inexplicable affects of those subjects who are in the neurological state of exception and to express their experiences of a becoming-nonhuman. By closely reading Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan and Alejandro $Gonz{\acute{a}}lez$ $I{\tilde{n}}{\acute{a}}rritu^{\prime}s$ Birdman in this regard, I show how the two films, by employing different sets of cinematic free indirect techniques, express the neurologically impaired subject's affective experience of a becoming-nonhuman animal in different ways, and thereby to a more or less extent act as 'profaned' neuro-biopolitical apparatuses.

Luxun's Liyue(禮樂) and Uncompleted Classical Criticism (루쉰의 예악론(禮樂論)과 미완의 고전비평)

  • This text attempts two types of critical analysis. First is to explore Luxun's critical research attitude toward classical Chinese texts, studying how Luxun critically examines 'liyue (ceremony- music)'. With the way the 'madman' in 《A Madman's Diary》 handles China's old text as a hint, the attitude with which Luxun critically examines the editing and passing down of classical Chinese philology was studied. Luxun pays attention to the situation in which when classical literature is passed down and transmitted throughout history, the context of events are concealed and text is blockaded while text is edited and restructured. Also, Luxun critically examines how the ancient culture of 'liyue' operates on the constitution of Chinese culture, society, and politics, in addition to the process of passing down of texts, as well as how it has effect even in the present day. Classics are closely intertwined not only with issues of the past but with the conventions, moral emotions, and government of today. Second, based on Luxun's examination of 'liyue', the <sheng-wu-ai-le-lun> of the 《Jikangji》 which Luxun sympathized with all his life is criticized. This text, stating that 'There is no sadness or happiness in sound', deeply ponders upon the issue of 'liyue' essential to the logic of Chinese cultural composition, and deviates from the Confucian thoughts centered around social integrity and inspiration. Further, it stresses the autonomy of affective subject, and the process of deliberation by an entity toward harmony and commonness. By the work of examining Jikang through Luxun and Luxun through Jikang, the uncompleted work of classical criticism by Luxun is restructured, and the possibility of classical Chinese texts to relate to today's life is examined.
