This study aimed to measure the monetary and non-monetary effects on brand awareness at hypermarkets in Riyadh. The independent variable consists of three sub-variables: price reductions, free samples, and purchasing vouchers. The research population has all Saudi and non-Saudi buyers in Riyadh. The figures show that the population size reached 3.87 million in 2019. The proportional stratification sampling technique and the recommended sample size were 387 buyers. The five-point Likert scale with the fully structured questionnaire was used. The study concldes the effect of free samples on brand awareness while there was no effect of monetary instruments. The results show that the three sales promotion incentives (price reduction, free samples, and purchasing vouchers) moderately affected brand awareness and a key role in explaining consumer behavior, so the significant impact was proved. In summary, this study showed that price reductions have the power of creating the perception of buyers at hypermarkets in Riyadh. Non-cash instruments were more effective than cash instruments in enhancing brand awareness at the hypermarkets in the Saudi market. So, the price reductions and purchasing vouchers have less power in conducting communication-based awareness. Building awareness and improving brand image through free samples were most visible in communication strategy.

The object of this study is to establish proper consumer-oriented advertisement strategies of animal welfare egg. Data were collected by consumer survey on November 4th, 2011 at Hanaromart in Chunchon area. SAS 9.1 and Excel 2007 were used as statistical package and ranked logit model was used to analyze the data. From the results of the study the following advertisement strategies were suggested for animal welfare egg considering the effects of advertisement media. First, internet based media were most preferred. For effectively using the internet based media the message should be succinctly and clearly transferred to consumers. Therefore if phrases and pictures emphasizing the difference between animal welfare egg and general egg were used, then positive effects could be attained from consumers in a short period. Second, advertisement media should be used differently based upon the consumers' income level. In the case of consumers under three million won income level the advertisement in the purchasing site was most effective regarding the advertisement effects. Therefore if the advertisement showing the breeding surroundings between animal welfare egg and general egg was used, positive effects could be attained. For consumers over three million won income level the homepage of egg producers was most effective in advertisement. So if more accurate information were distributed to consumers visiting the homepage and high quality egg were sold via the homepage, positive effects could be attained.

This study sets out to examine how a brand image that matches the advertising model has a positive impact on brand attitude and price fairness perceptions. We reviewed the constructs on the basis of previous studies and each of the concepts has been redefined. One such concept, "image congruence," refers to the harmony, fitness, and matching quality of images. For example, how well celebrity advertising model is matches the brand image shows image congruence. Results are summarized as follows: First, the congruence of brand image and sports advertising model has no significant impact on brand attitude certainty and persistence. Second, the individual's brand attitude certainty and brand attitude persistence has a positive impact on the perceptions of price fairness. Third, the congruence of brand image and sports advertising model has a positive impact on the perceptions of price fairness. The first and the third results suggest that the positive impact on the price fairness perceptions is temporary but it has insignificant effects on the formation of brand attitude causing ongoing purchases. In other words, in order to influence consumers' long-term confidence on the brand, improving the quality of products or services has to precede promotional strategies such as advertising. When an advertising model is inappropriate for the brand image, consumers perceive product price changes as a negative issue in the short term. However, in the long term, attitude formation such as consumers' repurchase intentions and word of mouth will be not affected. The second result suggests that an already existing positive brand attitude can contribute more positively to change the perceptions of price fairness. In particular, attitude persistence has greater influence than attitude certainty on the price fairness. It suggests that persistence issues such as the trading period and the frequency of transactions must be managed and controlled because they are more important than the certainty issues such as strength of belief or trust. For example, when a commercial model for expensive sporting goods matches up with the brand image, consumer feels less pressure on the price changes. However, it does not determine the consumer's repeated purchases or sustainable transactions and it also has no absolute impact on the brand trust. In other words, consumer brand attitude should be recognized and approached as a routine strategy in view of the result that it is of great value as a causal variable in the process of consumer decision-making.
Priming Effect, as a part of "Contextual Effect" is the phenomenon that pre-searched product information influences consecutive product evaluation. "Priming Effect" is different from other types of "Contextual Effects" in that pre-searched information doesn't have an direct effect on product evaluation, but an indirect effect which means that pre-searched information influences interpretation of consecutive product evaluation. On the previous theoretical background, this study investigated that how visual images can influence consumer preference and product choice, introducing concept of priming effects into the design of on-line shopping malls. This experiment adopted the digital cameras as the experimental stimulus target products and designed the individual web pages by priming the attributes of price and size. In result of analysis, the difference of product preference by priming attributes was proved to be statistically significant. In this reason, suggesting the background of commercial web page can be the significant factor in choosing products, the priming effects introduced into the design can be positively employed in online advertising.mployed in online advertising.
This study examines the effects of celebrity endorsed advertising from a new perspective of the prior research that emphasizes the matchup between the brand and the celebrity. Due to the recent sharing experiences of the celebrity and their fans on SNS, it is hypothesized that the shared stories would impact viewers' responses that are often expressed in their likes, dislikes, shares and comments on SNS. In this study, the episodic type of advertising is hypothesized to have more favorable and active responses from viewers than the typical celebrity image-focused ads would have. By crawling and analyzing viewers' responses on YouTube toward 12 BTS endorsed ads, the hypotheses are confirmed as higher ratio of likes, lower ratio of dislikes and significantly higher ratio of comments over both total views and total likes were found. For the rationale behind, total 1800 comments were categorized into 4 major content types such as attached, experiential, empathic and self-related ones that are all considered as important factors influencing the strong ad effect. The results showed that the episodic ads have marginally more emotional comments than the celeb image ads. The difference was only found in experiential and empathic responses but not in self-related responses. Contrary to the hypothesis, the comments expressing attachment were found more for the celebrity image-focused ads than the episodic ones. It does not seem to suggest that the celebrity image focused ads are better to capture viewers' attachment towards the celebrity and the ad endorsed, but that the episodic ads draw viewers into relatively deeper level of attachment such as empathy by perceiving the authenticity of the celebrity and the brand. In conclusion, the shared stories on SNS can be a factor in the match-up theory on celebrity endorsed ad effects.

While previous studies and publications all assert a strong correlation between company's business plan and performance, very few have actually conducted practical analyses to support that. This study takes a practical approach in its analysis of Korean small and mid-sized enterprises(SME) with the view to finding an answer to the question. In addition, with the considerations of entrepreneur type and company's development stage, I analyzed the differences of business plan components' effects on performances. I selected business plan's components, which have been suggested only in theory and in concept, through the literature review and preliminary examination. Corporate performances were the recent improvements of ROS, ROA, market share and the number of employees to measure how greatly each is impacted by the components of a business plan. Results show that business plan components have influenced upon the number of employees. The business plan components discriminated superior company group and inferior company group properly. Especially, finance & related system and advertising & distribution factors showed statistically significant classification forecasting power. Technical/Craftsman evaluated the effects of producing & sales and profit & quality factors high and General/Opportunistic evaluated the effects of finance & related system, advertising & distribution, corporate mission factors high. The effect of corporate mission was highest among company development stages. Finance & related system and advertising & distribution factors showed the statistically significant difference in entrepreneur type and company development stages.
Recently, digital advertising has shifted towards delivering messages through short ads of less than 15 seconds, and on social media, ads need to convey the message within 5 seconds before consumers skip them. Although the length of advertisements has decreased, advancements in artificial intelligence algorithms and big data analysis have made it possible to deliver personalized messages that cater to consumers' interests. In this changing landscape, the importance of delivering tailored messages through short and efficient ads is increasing. In this study, we examined the effects of message framing as part of effective message delivery. Specifically, we examined the differences in the effects of two framings, "health" and "environment," for vegan products. The growing consumer interest in health and the environment has elevated the interest in vegan products, and the vegan market is expanding rapidly. Consumers purchase vegan products not only for personal health benefits but also due to their ethical responsibility towards the environment, which can be considered ethical consumption. Previous research has not shown the differences in the effects between health and environment message framings, and the research has been limited to vegan food products. This study investigates the differences in the effects of health and environment message framings using a dish soap product category. By identifying which advertising messages, either health or environment, are more effective in promoting vegan products, this study provides insights for companies to enhance their message framing strategies effectively.
In the U.S. where Direct-to-Consumer Advertising (DTCA) of prescription medications is permitted, spending on DTCA has been accelerating. As a result, it has been an issue of intense public policy attention regarding whether DTCA is beneficial to the public by promoting a healthy lifestyle. Most of the literature concerning DTCA focuses on its impact on demand and empirical evidence regarding its impact on health-related behavior is scant. This study uses a database of DTCAs for high blood cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and overweight treatment medications that have appeared in nationally circulated U.S. consumer magazines during 2000 to 2004 and the Simmons National Consumer Survey in order to compute the level of individual advertising exposure and examines whether those who are exposed to DTCA are more likely to engage in regular exercise and diet control. The study finds evidence that for those with chronic conditions, greater exposure to DTCA leads to less exercise but more diet control. By therapeutic class level, exposure to DTCA leads to less exercise for those with hypertension and who are overweight, whereas those with high blood cholesterol are more likely to engage in regular exercise. Looking into differential responses by socioeconomic status, those with less education are more likely to engage in exercise after being exposed to DTCA. The results imply that the effects of DTCA vary by therapeutic class. In order to enhance the benefits of DTCA, it is important to closely monitor the messages in DTCA and require it to include messages that promote lifestyle change should it be a part of the treatment.
