  • LRT(Light Rail Transit System) is devided into steel-wheel train, LIM and rubber tired AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit System) The main features of LRT are low construction cost, low space, low noise, Environment-friendly, fastly, low maintenance cost. it's a civil transit transfer system of new generation became popular advanced nation.   • In field of Urban transit safely, It must be not only secured vehicle but also every areas like power, signal, communication, track, tunnel, operating facilities. Likewise it is very important not only hardware system like vehicles, facilities but also software system like action of engine driver, duty officer. In other to secure safety of hardware, soft ware, it is very important systemic process. In Korea, Many operating companies neglect to invest in safely and ignore technical development about safety because of management. Safely was considered in subway system and many studies were accomplished about safety in subway system in advanced county like U.K, USA. Hence, in this paper, Conditions and improvement of minimum considerable hardware and software are proposed for safe operation in Urban transit.

  • Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus ($5,000{\sim}25,000$ persons per hour and per direction). It is a high-tech system which operational capacity, punctuality and mobility are remarkably improved. There are some types of LRT systems such as monorail, tramway, AGT(Automated Guideway Transit), and so on. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. For the efficient management, economical construction, and safe operation of various LRT systems, the establishment of national standard is necessary such as vehicle standardized specification, vehicle performance test standard, vehicle safety standard, construction guide, operation regulation, etc. of LRT systems. This paper presents the standard specification of electrical equipment of linear induction motor type light rail vehicle, that is LIM AGT(AGT system propelled with linear induction motor) vehicle. The LIM AGT system has been applied in Japan subway and ART(Advanced Rapid Transit) system of Canada and Yongin LRT is currently under construction.

  • Pusan Metropolitan City has developed 'HANARO Card' system. It is a sort of multi-function card systems which has devised to resolve many traffic problems, to improve public transportation services, to build advanced transit information systems, to encourage reasonable operation of the public transit companies, and to obtain basic informations for devising transportation policies. This study aims at reviewing the systems of 'HANARO Card', analysing the situation of usage of the card, and suggesting some issues for improving the system. Main finding is that the major effects of the introducing HANARO traffic card are convenience (to pay a charge) in using transit, public parking lots, city freeway toll for citizens, and saving in personnel expenses, maintenance expenses for buses, subway and taxi companies. It is also found that HANARO traffic card system needs to be expended to be compatible with other fields of economic activities.

  • This study shows the functional contribution into the public transportation system for congestion area. And there is a introduction for the rapid bus transit developed in Europe community. It can be classified the public transportation as urban transit, subway and bus. For a few years, it has been introduced the AGT system as a role of the alternative and lengthening system of subway line. Recently, there is going on construction of AGT system in some regional cities. The AGT system has advantages in terms of accessibility and cost-effective rather than subway. But the bus system is advantageous at the points rather than AGT system. It is obvious that the bus system is most cost-effective for infrastructure and system rather than any other public transports. If the bus system has punctuality and precise docking, that becomes best choice for public transportation scheme. There are tries to develop new systems by means of the f1les up the advantages in bus and AGT system, which can be classified as BRT(Bus Rapid Transit}. The idea is simple; 'Thirik rail, use advanced buses.' It is introduced the IRISBUS system at this article, which was developed in Europe community. And it is introduced the project architecture to develop the similar system to IRISBUS in KRRI through National Transportation Key Technology R&D Project

  • In this paper, we propose the ergonomic design method in shape design applicable for Advanced Urban Transit System. Human's sensitivity and User Interface of rolling stock investigated ergonomic studies of several type. The sensibility engineering design made approach of user center design in rolling stocks design. Therefore, we have application to properly of ergonomic design element in rolling stock design. we expert visual design and user interface help greatly in excellent rolling stock design.
