An Experimental Study on the Improvement of Early Strength and Chloride Attack Resistance for Marine Concrete (해양용콘크리트의 초기강도 및 내염해 저항성 향상에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The structure which is located in special surroundings like ocean-environment is physically and chemically eroded by seawater or salt damage, and then concrete-structure becomes deteriorated by iron corrosion and swelling pressure which leads to remarkably decline durability due to cracks and exploitation. As a measure against salt damage, it is actively being examined to use the blended cement that controls salt damage and fix chloride in the process of hydration. In this study, therefore, to examine the property of marine concrete added admixture, marine concrete is manufactured by adding high-strength admixture(omega2000) by 0, 5, 10, and 15% to low heat-blended cement. Then it shows that the compressive strength of manufactured marine cement tends to increase and chloride penetration resistance improves.

  • Recently, due to the increase of high-rise buildings construction, many researches for making harden of concrete earlier and remove of forms faster are being performed to reduce construction period. The purpose of this study is to analysis which mixing condition and curing temperature of early strength concrete. Porperties of concrete by the different factors, such as the type of active admixtures, mineral admixtures, curing temperature, the amount of binder, etc. Through the test of concrete using the different type of admixture, PC type was more excellent than PNS type admixture. The concrete Strength remarkably will be able to confirm that decreases from temperature below 12$^{\circ}C$.

  • Recently, exposed concrete by machinery trowel is generally used in industrial floor such as warehouse. Also, concrete using only the cement has been mainly used except mineral admixture in order to secure surface abrasion resistance. However, in hot weather construction, it is causing a serious problem such as workability inhibition of trowel using only ordinary portland cement. Due to this, it was investigated the effect of application of fly-ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag on properties and abrasion resistance of concrete for industrial floor in this study. The result of this study, it was confirmed that fly-ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag can be used in concrete for industrial floor without affecting significantly the properties of concrete.

  • Concrete is cheap, easy to deal with, and the quality is satisfactory. Also, it is one of the easiest materials to get because chemical composition of cement is similar to chemical composition of surface. On the other hand, it is so vulnerable to transform because of weak binding capacity and low binding energy that it produces cracks. Cracks decline durability, usability, safety of structures and damage exterior. In order to decline drying shrinkage crack, this study used shrinkage reducing typed Superplasticizer, which is combination of and water-reducing agent for convenience, different with existing study using AE agent, water-reducing agent, shrinkage reducing agent,. Considering SRS field application possibility, this study planned to mix concrete and mortar generally used in ready-mixed concrete company and did basic experiment depending on a change of SRS content ratio and admixture. Based on the experiment result. It is judged that SRS admixture 2% is proper ratio when Given the intensity and length change. Also mass combination will conduct follow-up studies.

  • The purpose of this dissertation was to investigate the effect of mineral admixtures, such as fly ash, blast furnace slag powder, meta kaolin and silica fume, on the basic properties and durability of crushed sand shotcrete, selecting a series of shotcrete mixtures with a variable admixture. Compressive strength increased as the content of mineral admixtures increased, specially it was the most effective when using meta kaolin both at sample specimen and core after shotcreting. Rapid chloride ion permeability test and sulfuric acid resistance test showed that both durability increased as the substitute rate of mineral admixture increased. In air void analysis with image analysis, the targeted the spacing factor and specific surface were not satisfied because air-entrained agent was not used.

  • Fibrious potassium hexatitanate whisker was produced from the calcination process using a mixture of the natural rutile ore and industrial $K_2CO_3$. Fibrous Potassium titanate was prepared by the following procedures the starting material consisting of $K_2O{\cdot}4.4TiO_2$ was calcined at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 3 hrs. The calcined products obtained under the above condition consisted mainly of potassium hexatitanate with a small admixture of potassium dititanate and potassium tetratitanate. Therefore the single phase of potassium hexatitanate was obtained by heat treatment of $850^{\circ}C$, 3 hrs.

  • In order to improve compressive strength of cement mortar, powder admixture(FAS) was mmufactured by mixing fly ash. Il-anhydite and silica hume, and superplasticizer was used for the control of fluidity reduction with the use of this admixture. Cement was substituted by 10, 20wt% of FAS respectively. At W/S = 0.40, the fluidity of' cement paste substituted by PAS was decreased. NSF and NT-2 were very effective fbr the control of fluidity reduction. As the particle size of U -anhydrite was fine, the fluidity of cement mortar was increased. The fluidity reduction of cement mortar substituted by 10wt% of FAS was controlled. The compressive strength of cement mortar substituted by 10wt% of FAS showed higher. value than that of 20wt%, expecially specimen(C1) substituted by 10wt% of $\gamma$ had the highest compressive strength value.

  • Recently the fire is happening at the tunnel and underground - structure internationally. We are socially the economy the actual circumstances which serious loss is happening due to an fire occurrence when fire happened which is closed like tunnel and underground - structure, the collapse from the burglar degradation of strength of tunnel concrete lining and human life damage happen. It causes big problem while the long time disconnects a traffic network. While the fire happened in this research at the tunnel, the paper construct a basis data to deduce the specification regulation about stability of tunnel concrete lining. In this paper, the experiment was carried out for the prevention of explosive spalling of tunnel to use a reinforced Polypropylene concrete which mixes a Polypropylene which are known for the thing by being efficient at a protect of explosive spalling of the concrete. According to the firproof test result of reinforced Polypropylene admixture mortar, Polypropylene admixture of prevention of explosive spalling analyzed 0.2%-0.25%.

A Study on the Strength at an Early Stage of the Compound Mixed into Polycarboxylate (Polycarboxylate에 혼합 사용된 혼화제의 조기강도 발현성상에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, experiments were conducted to find out whether polycarboxylate could be used as a crude steel admixture for practical work, depending on the change in the replacement level of the compound mixed into polycarboxylate. Its fluidity was satisfactory, its airspace was a bit smaller than the KS standard, and its unit volume weight was proven to meet the standard. The amount of bleeding was smallest in B2, and in terms of the solidification time, the first and the last solidification was faster in A1, B1, and C1. With regard to the compressive strength in early days as acharacteristic of hardened concrete, all addition rates of 7-day C2 displayed the highest strength value, among which the addition rate of 1.3% had the biggest strength performance tendency. The seal strength also showed the strength performance rate which was about one tenth as big as that of the compressive strength. The length change rate resulting from dryness and contraction was proven to be good, and once the appropriate AE air entraining agent is used, it is evaluated to be a very useful and practical compound out in the field.

  • The study was conducted to determine the effects of adding pig blood as an admixture to both mortar and concrete. The mortar tests included the determination of its unit weight, flow and its compressive strength. Moreover, the concrete test includes the determination of air content, slump, bleeding, setting time compressive strength and freeze-thaw resistance of the material. As the test result, the utilization of pig blood, as an additive to both mortar and concrete mixtures causes air entrainment. The mortar flow increased and both the unit weight and the compressive strength of mortar decreased. As the blood replacement rate increases, the air content decreases over time, the setting and amount of bleeding showed a tendency to decline and reduced compressive strength, and the freeze-thaw resistance of the concrete increased.
