  • Objectives : Severe mental illness is a major risk factor for suicide. This study aimed to identify characteristics of patients who died by suicide among subjects who had been received service from a community mental health center. Methods : We searched individuals who had committed suicide in Gwangju Bukgu Community Mental Health Center since 2006. Sociodemographic and clinical data were gathered from medical records and their case managers and they were compared with those of general members in the center. Characteristics of schizophrenia patients who died by suicide were particularly summarized. Results : Twelve person committed suicide between 2006 and 2016. The characteristics of those who died by suicide were male (67%), diagnosis of schizophrenia (75%), aged below 50 (83%), unemployed (92%), past history of psychiatric hospitalization (100%), recent admission within 3 months (67%), past history of suicidal attempt (78%), family history of schizophrenia (58%), poor adherence to medication (58%), and use of daily rehabilitation program (42%). Ten out of twelve (83%) showed warning sign for suicide. All identified method of suicide in patients with schizophrenia was jumping from high building. Many patients with schizophrenia, who committed suicide, suffered from comorbid depressive symptoms (67%) and auditory hallucination (78%). Conclusion : Case managers should pay attention to and carefully manage individuals who showed suicidal warning, particularly with risk factors for suicide, such as unemployment, admission state or recent discharge from psychiatric hospital, poor adherence to medication, family history of schizophrenia, and a history of suicidal attempt.

  • A robust L1 data depth was used in clustering and classification, so called DDclus and DDclass by Jornsten (2004). SVM-based classification works well in most of the situation but show some weakness in the presence of outliers. Proper gene selection is important in classification since there are so many redundant genes. Either by selecting appropriate genes or by gene clustering combined with classification method enhance the overall performance of classification. The performance of depth based method are evaluated among several SVM-based classification methods.

  • In this paper, we propose an approximation of the M/G/1 system with finite workload capacity, where customers whose admission to the system would increase the workload beyond a prespecified finite capacity limit are not accepted. Our approximation method is based on the idea that the service time of a customer in the M/G/1 system can be approximated as the sum of service times of a batch of customers in the $M^{X}/d/1$ system where the service time is deterministic and very small. That is, the original service time is discretized and approximated by the batch size. We exemplified our method by obtaining the average workload of the M/M/1 system by means of the $M^{X}/d/1$ system, where the batch size is geometric. In addition, the approximate blocking probabilities of the M/M/1 and $M/E_{k}/1$ system with finite workload capacities are sought. The proposed method turns out to give a good approximation, which is compared with a simulation.

  • In ATM networks there are two methods in traffic control as schemes advancing the quality of service. One is reactive control after congestion and the other which is generally recommended, is preventive control before congestion, including connection admission control on call leel and usage parameter control, network parameter control, priority control and congestion control on cell level. In particular, usage parameter control is required for restricting the peak cell rate of bursy tracffic to the parameter negotiated at call set-up phase since the peak cell rate significantly influences the network quality of service. The scheme for progressing quality of service by usage parameter control is themethod using VSA(Virtual Scheduling Algorlithm) recommended ITU-T. The method using VSSA(Virtual Scheduling Suggested Algorlithm) in this paper is suggested by considering cell delay variation and token rate of leaky bucket, compared VSA and VSANT(Virtual Scheduling Algolithm with No Tolerance) with VSSA which polices violated cell probability of conformed peak cell rate and intentionally excessive peak cell rate. VSSA method using IPP(Interruped Poisson Process) model of input traffic source showed more quality of service than VSA and VSANT methods as usage parameter control because the suggested method reduced the violated cell probability of contformed peak cell rate and intentionally excessive peak cell rate.

Our approximation method is based on the idea that the service time of a customer in the M/G/1 system can be approximated as the sum of service times of a batch of customers in the $M^X/d/1$ system where the deterministic service time d is small enough. • Objective: This study is a case study on mother's perceived the adaptation process and program of a one-year-old toddlers in daycare center. Methods: This study is a case study of four mothers who live in Seoul, South Korea and whose first child enters in daycare center at 18 or 20 months. The data collection method was applied to group interview and the individual in-depth interview method. Results: After the interview data was analyzed, first, they decided to enroll their child to a daycare center after two mothers were pregnant with the second child or the others received a phone call for admission. The first impression of the teachers had a great influence on the choice of admission when mother first visited the daycare center. mother, as well as toddlers who exhibited anxiety, experienced an adaptation process. Through communication between mother and teacher, mothers could feel the toddler's adaptation. Second, as for the difference of the adaptation program according to the daycare center type through the adaptation process of the one-year-old toddlers, there was a big difference in the program guide, the period, the content and the proceeding method. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results of this study, it is expected that it will be a basic data for the development of the adaptation program for one-year-old toddlers in daycare center at the national level.

  • Wireless multimedia networks require channel allocation strategies for various multimedia traffic since the mobility of users needs to be considered in addition to diversity of QoS requirements of multimedia traffic. In this paper, we propose an Efficient Channel Allocation strategy, based on prioritization of handoff calls used in Guard channel method. Gurad channels can be shared between non real time calls and real time handoff calls. To decrease the probability of handoff failure, when resources become scarce, the Call Admission Control can take some resources away from the active calls. It is shown through extensive simulations that the proposed strategy provides higher channel utilization and lower probability of handoff failure than existing strategies.

  • As a result of the lack of methodology for the determination of navigational channel capacity and the consequence lack of effective management of traffic, navigational channels are often grossly underutilized or highly congested. The traditional rule of first-come-first-served admission of vessels to channels is not efficient as it assumes equal time intervals between entrance of consecutive vessels. A new vessel traffic management system is developed in this research and methodologies to measure the improvement in the channel capacity are developed. Methodology to measure the channel performances for three queue disciplines are developed. The effects of changes in major factors on the channel capacity model such as channel length, fleet mix and arrival rate, as well as changes in strategy are analyzed. Under given channel conditions, best strategy are recommended. Also, a method for effective stochastic channel capacity simulation was developed. The results of analysis and as ertions are compared with the results of simulation runs to prove their applicability.
