셀룰라아제 처리된 데님직물의 태에 관한 연구(제1보);주관적인 태 평가를 위한 척도개발 (The Assessment of Hand for Enzyme Hydrolyzed Denim fabrics(Part I))

  • This paper discussed the assessment of hand of denim fabrics finished by enzymatic hydrolysis. The semantic differential scale established using the database collected from university students. Analyzing the subjective rating by common factor analysis with oblimin rotation five factors expressing the hand were induced. Factor one was the surface property related to the surface roughness or softness Factor two was the durability which was related to the compactness and bearing strength Factor three was the sense of weight which was related to the thickness and weight. The moisture related properties and the sense of shape recovery were the forth and fifth factors respectively. the evaluations on the surface property weight and moisture related properties were similar by men and women However the shape recovery and the durability were evaluated differently. Surface and weight related properties were important factors judging the hand of fabrics by both group.

의미운률과 의미 등가성: ‘빈 공간’은 ‘empty space’인가 ‘blank space’인가\ulcorner (Semantic Prosody and Meaning Equivalence: Is Korean pin konggan Equivalent to ‘Empty Space’ or ‘Blank Space’\ulcorner)

  • The purpose of this paper is to show that lexical equivalency in translation can be achieved when it is based on semantic prosodies of lexical items. This paper examines the semantic prosodies of two seemingly synonymous English adjectives ‘empty’ and ‘blank’ on the basis of the corpus given in Cobuild English Collocations on CD-ROM and proposes that they are different in terms of spatial dimensions. Thus when a Korean equivalent pin derived from the verb pita is translated into English, syntagmatic phraseological environments of the Korean adjective must be taken into account to attain the equivalency of the source and target languages. Relevant Korean corpus was taken from the 21st Century Sejong Plan (2002). Out of 12 examples of pin konggan, five appear to be equivalent to ‘blank’ and seven to ‘empty.’ The five to seven ratio in different usage indicates that the equivalency problem concerning the lexical item pin is not a trivial matter in translation.

The Consensus on Impression Formation

  • The studies on impression formation usually have focused on the effect of certain appearance features which elevates perceptual evaluation. This study tried to find out whether there is a consensus on impression formation between the perceived person and the perceiver and if the gender is any significant variable to cast any difference on the impression evaluation. Seven photos of voluntary students in ppt file were projected to 143 students attending a university psychology class and were subjected to a impression evaluation questionnaire consisting of 28 adjective scales. The analysis of result revealed: 1) There was a significant difference between the impression evaluation scores of the perceivers and the perceived; the self evaluation of the perceived person was higher than the perceivers' evaluation. 2) There was also a significant evaluation score difference between the genders of the perceivers; the female perceivers rated the stimuli higher than the male perceivers. There was no interaction effect between the genders of the perceivers and the perceived.

고등학교 교과서 읽기 자료의 문제점과 개선 방안: 의사소통적 관점에서 (Issues and improvement plans for reading materials of high school English textbooks: From the communicative approach)

  • This study aims to examine the reading materials of high school English textbooks to propose the integration of the literary texts into reading materials in the classroom for development of communicative competence. Five kinds of high school English textbooks were critically examined in terms of three factors -limited text types, deficit of emotional adjectives and non-authenticity- selected by the author as characteristics of non-communicative language teaching materials. With regard to text types, more than half of the reading materials were expository and simple narratives. This imbalance of text types led materials to the deficit of emotional vocabulary. These factors seem to be closely related to the issue of authenticity of reading materials. Compared to the authentic texts, fabricated texts are likely to make reading vapid and boring task. On the basis of these results, some pedagogical suggestions are made.

영상의 한국적 감성 형용사 추출 및 감성 컨텐츠 프레임 워크 설계 (Extract korean sensitivity adjective from image and Design for sensitivity contents framework)

  • 본 논문에서는 영상으로부터 한국적 감성 데이터를 추출하고 감성 컨텐츠 프레임워크(ISC) 구축을 통해 영상데이터를 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터와 함께 사용자에게 전달하는 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 먼저 영상으로부터 객체를 분리해내고 각각의 특징벡터 모델을 구축한다. 특징벡터모델은 요소인자로써 벡터공간의 데이터로 입력되고, 정규화 된 한국어 형용사 데이터와의 근접도를 비교하여 대표 감성을 표현하게 된다. 또한 감성 컨텐츠 데이터의 3층 구조를 이용하여 멀티미디어 데이터를 분류하고 대표 감성형용사와의 인자사상을 통하여 다양한 영상-감성 컨텐츠를 제공하는 프레임워크를 설계한다. 이것은 다양한 영상의 추상데이터에 대응한 감성표현을 추출하여 영상에 내포되어 있는 정확한 의미를 관찰자에게 전달할 수 있다.

Phonetic Approach or Phonological Approach: Syntax-prosody Interface in Seoul Korean

  • There are two different approaches in studying mapping between syntactic structure and prosody, the 'phonetic approach' and the 'phonological approach'. An experiment to examine which approach is more valid was conducted. In the experiment, syntactically ambiguous Seoul Korean sentences in each of which a noun immediately after an adjective starts with either an H-segment (a segment which triggers the AP-initial H tone) or an L-segment (a segment other than H-segments) were recorded. by 3 Seoul Korean speakers. The F0 values in the syllables containing the consonants in question were then measured. The results show that interaction between the segment type and the branching structure is statistically significant. which suggests that it is difficult to use the phonetic .approach to generalize the relationship between syntax and prosody. Thus, it is concluded that the phonological approach is more valid.

Transonic characteristics for AGARD Wing 445.6 by numerical simulation

  • The supersonic speeds slowing down by shock waves is a common problem during the transonic region. So how to study the status of shock on the surface of airplane and wings is crucial adjective during transonic region. However, the theoretical and computational transonic flow problems were very hard. This paper introduced using Navier-Stokes Schemes to study characteristics of AGARD Wing 445.6 by ANSYS CFX in transonic region. From simulations results, as the Mach number increases, shock waves appear in the flowfield, getting stronger as the speed increases, these shock waves will lead to a rapid increase in drag.

  • The brand power is getting more important in apartment market so that consumers are accustomed to ask first what the apartment brand is when they are considering to buy an apartment. Even so the brand name is the first factor which approaches to the consumer, message and image can be delivered to customers by visual factors. Since visual image can be effective to remind of customers brand image, construction business company should make portfolio to synthesize brand Image actively. This research investigate images of consistency in extenor and interior design according to the apartments brand. Used lexical meaning of the adjective used to discern standard to extract images, selected survey, and evaluated by step 1 to 5 using semantic differential method, SD. The collected cases are analyzed by using statistics software SPSS for windows release 11.0. This research provides conveyance of the vision image which fits to the brand Image and further design direction.

웨딩드레스에 대한 시각적 감성 연구 (A Study on Visual Sensibility of Wedding Dress)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the visual sensibility of wedding dress. There are 28 kinds of costume samples from photographs in wedding dress magazines. They were divided into simple, accent and decorative design. The Semantic Differential method was used in this study to measure them. The semantic scale was composed of 20 pairs of adjective words. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA, MDS and regression analysis. The results are as follow; 1. Factor analysis has extracted five factors which consist of the visual sensibility of wedding dress. The factors are High quality, Cuteness, Femininity, Decoration and Modernness. 2. There were significant differences in the visual sensibility of wedding dress and demographics.3. The evaluative dimensions of the visual sensibility of wedding dress were identified by Cute-Adult and Simple-Decorative. 4. Preference was related to what are wearing-desirable, chic, cute, natural and beautiful, etc., and the wearing desire was related to what are favorite, lively, chic, special and gracious, etc. The noble sensibility was related to what are elegant, cute, feminine and chic, etc.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide practical information to design woolen fabrics in terms of structural and surface characteristics, which produce texture images of fabrics. The relationship among structural, surface characteristics and texture images, and preference and purchase intention were analyzed. To evaluate the texture images of the fabrics subjectively, 7 rank's semantic differential scale questionnaires were developed with thirty adjective pairs. Blind and non-blind test were performed with 320 female subjects who were in their 20-30's. Commercially available 48 woolen fabrics were used as specimens. Results showed that five factors were obtained: classic, elegance, warmth, natural and casual. These factors were closely related to fiber type, weave type, fabric counts, and finishes.
