기능적 팔 뻗기 시 근 활성에 관한 연구 (The Study of Muscle Activity on Functional Reaching)

  • Purpose : This study was assessed muscle activity and onset time in trunk and upper extremity on functional reaching. Methods : The participant was 18 female(young 10, old 8). As functional reaching, we collection data by using EMG(MP150) on transverse abdominis, external oblique, erector spinae, deltoid middle and serratus anterior. Results : 1) In functional reaching, transverse abdominis, external oblique, erector spinae and deltoid middle muscle activity was augmented on old female(p>.05). Serratus anterior was augmented on young female(p>.05). 2) In functional reaching, transverse abdominis and erector spinae muscle onset time is significantly faster old female than young female(p<.05). External oblique and serratus anterior muscle onset time is faster old female than young female(p>.05). 3) As increase of age muscle activity of external oblique was more increased that we found .511 a coefficient correlation and onset time more faster on transverse abdominis and erector spinae were each -.492 and -.554 coefficient correlation. Conclusion : The muscle activity and onset time was difference in functional reaching according to ageing and task context. It is necessary concentration and attention to old female than young female. Therefore, these results suggest that importance of anticipatory postural control and selective strategy of postural control.

Holographic Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (HQSAR) Study of 3,4-Dihydroxychalcone Derivatives as 5-Lipoxygenase Inhibitors

  • Holographic quantitative structure-activity relationships (HQSAR) is a useful tool to correlates structures with their biological activities. HQSAR is a two dimensional (2D) QSAR methodology, which generates QSAR equations through 2D fingerprint and correlates it with biological activity. Here, we report a 2D-QSAR model for a series of fifty-one 3,4-dihydroxychalcones derivatives utilizing HQSAR methodology. We developed HQSAR model with 6 optimum numbers of components (ONC), which resulted in cross-validated correlation coefficient ($q^2$) of 0.855 with 0.283 standard error of estimate (SEE). The non-cross-validated correlation coefficient (r2) with 0.966 indicates the model is predictive enough for analysis. Developed HQSAR model was binned in to a hologram length of 257. Atomic contribution map revealed the importance of dihydroxy substitution on phenyl ring.

진한 전해질 용액 중에서 염의 수화수와 활성도 계수에 관한 이론적 연구 (Theoretical Calculation of Hydration Number and Activity Coefficients of Salts in Concentrated Electrolyte Solutions)

  • The extension of the theory of the electrolyte solution to the calculation of the hydration number and the mean activity coefficient of some 1:1 electrolytes in the concentrated solutions has been made. In this derivation, the hydration number has been calculated from the equation of the dielectric constant proposed by Hobbs, Jhon, and Eyring, and the mean activity coefficient from the theoretical formula developed by Jhon and Eyring. The agreement between theory and experiment over a.wide concentration range is quite satisfactory.

학령기 아동을 위한 활동 참여 평가도구(Activity Participation Assessment)의 타당도 연구 (The Validity of Activity Participation Assessment for School-Age Children)

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 학령기 아동을 위한 활동 참여 평가도구(Activity Participation Assessment; APA)의 타당도를 알아보는 것이다. 연구방법 : 초등학생 207명을 대상으로 APA 30문항, PACS(Pediatric Activity Card Sort) 75문항, CAPE(Children's Assessment of Participation and Enjoyment) 55문항으로 구성된 설문지를 실시하였다. APA의 구인타당도를 알아보기 위해 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였으며, 수렴타당도와 판별타당도는 평균분산추출과 상관계수 제곱값을 통해 검증하였으며, 공인타당도는 APA와 PACS 및 CAPE의 피어슨의 상관계수를 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과 : 구인타당도는 확인적 요인분석 결과 수정된 위계적 2차 모형이 적합한 수준으로 나타났으며(p<.001), 수렴타당도는 모든 하위요인에서 평균분산 추출값이 .50이상으로 나타나 입증되었으며, 판별타당도는 평균분산 추출값이 결정계수인 0.239보다 더 크게 나타나 입증되었다. 공인타당도 분석에서 APA 항목 전체와 PACS의 자기관리는 .494(p<.01), 학교/생산성 .575(p<.01), 취미/사회 활동 .647(p<.01), 스포츠 .303(p<.01)으로 모두 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 APA 항목 전체와 CAPE의 여가활동은 .490(p<.01), 신체적 활동 .329(p<.01), 사회 활동 .571(p<.01), 기술에 기초한 활동 .401(p<.01), 자기계발 활동 .390(p<.01)으로 모두 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 결론 : APA는 구인타당도, 수렴타당도, 변별타당도와 공인타당도가 입증되어 국내 학령기 아동의 활동 참여를 측정하는 검사로써 타당한 도구로 사용될 수 있다.

  • Present experiment was performed to establish the optimal reaction conditions for measurement of urinary gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase(${\gamma}$-GTP), N-acetyl-${\beta}$-D-glucosaminidase (AGS) and alanine aminopeptidase(AAP) activities in bovine and to investigate in vitro stability of the enzymes, within-run imprecision of the methods, and normal ranges. 1. The optimal wavelength for measurement of ${\gamma}$-GTP activity was 545nm. 2. The optimal pH of Tris-HCI buffer containing glycylglycine for measurement of urinary ${\gamma}$-GTP activity was 7.6~7.8(37$^{\circ}C$). 3. Coefficient of variance for within-run imprecision of urinary ${\gamma}$-GTP activity ranged from 4.8 to 7.2% and there was no significant difference among replications, 4. The optimal wavelength for measurement of urinary AGS activity was 405nm. 5. The optimal pH of citrate buffer for measurement urinary of AGS activity was 4.0(37$^{\circ}C$). 6. Coefficient of variance for within-run imprecision of urinary AGS activity ranged from 3.9 to 6.1% and there was no significant difference among replications. 7. The optimal wavelength for measurement of urinary AAP activity was 400nm. 8. The optimal pH of phosphate buffer for measurement of urinary AAP was 7.8. 9. Coefficient of variance for within-run imprecision of urinary AAP activity ranged from 2.5 to 4.8% and there was no significant difference among replications. 10. ${\gamma}$-GTP and AGS activities were increased significantly by gel-filtration. 11. Turbidity interfered with measurement of urinary AAP activity in bovine unless the specimen was gel-filterated. 12. Preservation of the specimen at 5$^{\circ}C$ or -20$^{\circ}C$ did not affect the AGS activity at least for 7 days after collection. 13. Preservation of the specimen at 5$^{\circ}C$ or 20$^{\circ}C$ did not affect the ${\gamma}$-GTP and AAP activities statistically, but some individual specimens revealed fluctuation during preservation. 14. ${\gamma}$-GTP, AGS and AAP activities revealed fluctuation by the tine of the day when the specimen was collected. 15. The normal ranges of urinary ${\gamma}$ -GTP, AGS and AAP activities were 6.60${\pm}$3.26(2.36-14.50), 1.31 ${\pm}$ 0.81(0.33-3.78), and 1.73 ${\pm}$ 0.55(0.77-3.03)U/l. respectively.

카라멜화 반응 생성물의 갈색도와 항산화 효과와의 관계 (A study on the relations between the color intensity and the antioxidant activity of caramelization products)

  • The study was carried out to compare the relation between the color intensity and antioxidant activity of caramelization products using xylose(XY), glucose(GL). sucrose(SU), glucose+citric acid(GLCA), glucose+sodium citrate(GLSC), heated at 80, 120 and 140$\^{C}$ for 24hrs, respectively. The color intensity(absorbance at 490nm) of the browning mixtures increased as the browning temperature and time increased. But the degrees of color intensity of SU and GLCA changed very little. The hydrogen donating ability(HDA) of browning reaction products was generally enhanced as the browning temperature and time increased. When browning mixtures were heated at 80$\^{C}$, the HDA of GLGC was the highest, but the HDA of GLSC was the highest when heated at 120 and 140$\^{C}$. The antioxidant activities for the corn oil substrate containing the anhydrous ethanol extracts from the browning mixtures was inferior to that of SU, but was superior to that of GLCA. The relations among the color intensity, the antioxidant activity, and the hydrogen donating ability(HDA, reducing power) of the browning reaction mixtures were as follows: As the color intensity increased, the antioxidant activity decreased. The correlation coefficient of the color intensity and the antioxidant activity by regression equation was -0.73 ∼ -0.82. As the reducing power increased, the antioxidant activity decreased. The correlation coefficient between the reducing power and the antioxidant activity by regression equation was -0.98 ∼ -0.99. Therefore, the antioxidant activity of browning reaction mixtures seemed not correlated with the color intensity and the reducing power.

Maximum Sunspot Numbers and Active Days

  • Parameters associated with solar minimum have been studied to relate them to solar activity at solar maximum so that one could possibly predict behaviors of an upcoming solar cycle. The number of active days has been known as a reliable indicator of solar activity around solar minimum. Active days are days with sunspots reported on the solar disk. In this work, we have explored the relationship between the sunspot numbers at solar maximum and the characteristics of the monthly number of active days. Specifically, we have statistically examined how the maximum monthly sunspot number of a given solar cycle is correlated with the slope of the linear relationship between monthly sunspot numbers and the monthly number of active days for the corresponding solar cycle. We have calculated the linear correlation coefficient r and the Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient $r_s$ for data sets prepared under various conditions. Even though marginal correlations are found, they turn out to be insufficiently significant (r ~ 0.3). Nonetheless, we have confirmed that the slope of the linear relationship between monthly sunspot numbers and the monthly number of active days is less steep when solar cycles belonging to the "Modern Maximum" are considered compared with rests of solar cycles. We conclude, therefore, that the slope of the linear relationship between monthly sunspot numbers and the monthly number of active days is indeed dependent on the solar activity at its maxima, but that this simple relationship should be insufficient as a valid method to predict the following solar activity amplitude.

3D-QSAR Studies of Tetraoxanes Derivatives as Antimalarial Agents Using CoMFA and CoMSIA Approaches

  • Tetraoxanes (1,2,4,5-tetraoxanes) have been reported to exhibit potent antimalarial activity. In the present study, the three dimensional-quantitative structure activity relationship (3D-QSAR) studies were performed on a series of tetraoxanes derivatives using comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) techniques. The best predictive CoMFA model with atom fit alignment resulted in cross-validated coefficient ($q^2$) value of 0.719, non-cross-validated coefficient ($r^2$) value of 0.855 with standard error of estimate (SEE) 0.335. Similarly, the best predictive CoMSIA model was derived with $q^2$ of 0.739, $r^2$ of 0.847 and SEE of 0.344. The generated models were externally validated using test sets. The final QSAR models as well as the information gathered from 3D contour maps should be useful for the design of novel tetraoxanes having improved antimalarial activity.

HQSAR Study of Microsomal Prostaglandin E2 Synthase (mPGES-1) Inhibitors

  • Microsomal prostaglandin $E_2$ synthase (mPGES-1) is an enzyme that is associated with inflammation, pain, fever and cancer. Hologram quantitative structure activity relationship (HQSAR) was conducted on the series of MK-886 compounds acting as mPGES-1 inhibitors. A training set with 24 compounds was used to establish the HQSAR model. The best model was chosen based on the cross-validated correlation coefficient ($q^2$=0.884) and the correlation coefficient($r^2$=0.976). The model was utilized to predict the activity of the eight-test set of compounds giving the predictive $r^2$ value of 0.845. The descriptors of the model are based on fragment distinction (atoms, bond and connectivity) and fragment size (2-5 atoms). The atomic contribution maps generated from HQSAR were useful in identifying the important structural features responsible for the inhibitory activity of MK-886 inhibitors. Based on the generated model, the presence of hydrophobic biphenyl group seems to enhance inhibition of mPGES-1 that is in agreement with the previous experiments. In addition, it seems important for a halogen to be substituted to the biphenyl ring and for an acyl group to be attached to the indole moiety for enhanced activity.

  • Cefazolin ethoxycarbonylethyl ester (CFZ-ET) was synthesized to improve oral absorption and bioavailability of the parent drug by esterification of sodium cefazolin (CFZ-Na). The successful synthesis of CFZ-ET was identified with analysis of UV spectra, FT-lR spectra and NMR spectra. Partition coefficient studies showed that CFZ-ET was more lipophilic than CFZ-Na and the ester was hydrolyzed into the parent drug in vivo. Although CFZ-ET did not have antimicrobial activity in vitro, the plasma taken after the oral administration of CFZ-ET had antimicrobial activity. Based on above observations, CFZ-ET might be rapidly hydrolyzed to CFZ in the body. Therefore, it may be concluded that CFZ-ET could be a novel prodrug of CFZ which can improve the bioavailability of CFZ-Na.
