In this paper we propose an algorithm which fits a surface to noise-corrupted data points using an aceive sur-vace with global deformations. It is 3-dimensional surface extension of our precious works on 2-dimensional curve modell[11,12].We use fimite differences, and represent shapes of surface as global transfromation suring evolution based on the ballon [odel[2,3]which allows partial inflation or deflation by using niegborhood'sextermal foreces on each node points. At first,we make local deformations based on the balloon [odel, and then the blobal transformation from the surface before deformations to the defomed surface is calcualted by the deterministic lest squre method, finally we apply the global transformation to the surface before deformations. In experiments we fit a surface(elliposid,B-spline)to noise-corrupted 3D data points using the active surface with affine deformations.

The active vibration control of laminated composite shell has been performed with the optimized sensor/actuator system. PVDF film is used fur the material of sensor/actuator. Finite element method is utilized to model the whole structure including the piezoelectric sensor/actuator system, The distributed selective modal sensor/actuator system is established to prevent the adverse effect of spillover. In the finite element discretization process, the nine-node shell element with five nodal degrees of freedoms is used. Electrode patterns and lamination angles of sensor/actuator are optimized using genetic algorithm. Sensor is designed to minimize the observation spillover, and actuator is designed to minimize the system energy of the control modes under a given initial condition. Modal sensor/actuator profiles are optimized for the first and the second modes suppression of singly curved cantilevered composite shell structure. Discrete LQG method is used as a control law. The real time vibration control with profile optimized sensor/actuator system has been performed. Experimental result shows successful performance of the integrated structure for the active vibration control.

Internet of Things (IoT) connects several objects with embedded sensors and they are capable of exchanging information between devices to create a smart environment. IoT smart devices have limited resources, such as batteries, computing power, and bandwidth, but comprehensive sensing causes severe energy restrictions, lowering data quality. The main objective of the proposal is to build a hybrid protocol which provides high data quality and reduced energy consumption in IoT sensor network. The hybrid protocol gives a flexible and complete solution for sensor selection problem. It selects a subset of active sensor nodes in the network which will increase the data quality and optimize the energy consumption. Since the unused sensor nodes switch off during the sensing phase, the energy consumption is greatly reduced. The hybrid protocol uses Dijkstra's algorithm for determining the shortest path for sensing data and Ant colony inspired variable path selection algorithm for selecting active nodes in the network. The missing data due to inactive sensor nodes is reconstructed using enhanced belief propagation algorithm. The proposed hybrid method is evaluated using real sensor data and the demonstrated results show significant improvement in energy consumption, data utility and data reconstruction rate compared to other existing methods.
This paper proposes a quantitative criterion for optimization of actuator placement for the Prestress-Accumulation Release (PAR) strategy of mitigation of vibrations. The PAR strategy is a recently developed semi-active control approach that relies on controlled redistribution of vibration energy into high-order modes, which are high-frequency and thus effectively dissipated by means of the natural mechanisms of material damping. The energy transfer is achieved by a controlled temporary removal of selected structural constraints. This paper considers a short-time decoupling of rotational degrees of freedom in a frame node so that the bending moments temporarily cease to be transferred between the involved beams. We propose and test a quantitative criterion for placement of such actuators. The criterion is based on local modal strain energy that can be released into high-order modes. The numerical time complexity is linear with respect to the number of actuators and potential placements, which facilitates quick analysis in case of large structures.

IEEE 802.15.4 standard which has low-speed, low-power, low-cost can be efficiently used in wireless sensor network environment. Among various topologies used in IEEE 802.15.4 standard, a cluster-tree topology which has many nodes in it, transmit delay, energy consumption and data loss due to traffic concentration around the sink node. In this paper, we propose the MRS-DCA algorithm that minimizes conflicts between packets for efficient data transmission, and dynamically allocates the active period for efficient use of limited energy. The MRS-DCA algorithm allocates RP(Reservation Period) to the active period of IEEE 802.15.4 and guarantees reliable data transmission by allocating RP and CAP dynamically which is based on prediction using EWMA. The comparison result shows that the MRS-DCA algorithm reduces power consumption by reducing active period, and increasing transmission rate by avoiding collision.
The failure of network and/or node on which server object is executed is a single point of system failure in the CORBA application. One of the possible ways to overcome such problem is to replicate server objects to several independent nodes. The replicated objects executing same tasks are called object group. In order to provide fault tolerance of server object, this paper proposes and implements new CORBA model that supports the object group based on active replication. The proposed model not only provides interoperability with existing CORBA application but also minimizes additional application interface required to support object group because it uses nop to exchange messages between client and server. And this paper extends IDL structure. Depending to application logic, it makes possible to prevent performance degradation caused by consistency maintenance. At present, this paper supports only active replication. But it can be easily extended to provide warm ancVor cold passive replication without modification of architecture required for active replication.

In this paper, we propose a hard handover algorithm for a base station's self-optimization, one of the automatic operational technologies for the 3GPP LTE systems. The proposed algorithm simultaneously considers a mixed target sell selection method for optimal selection and a multiple parameter based active hysteresis method with the received signal strength from adjacent cells and the cell load information of the candidate target cells from information exchanges between eNBs through X2 interface. The active hysteresis method chooses optimal handover hysteresis value considering the costs of the various environmental parameters effect to handover performance. The algorithm works on the optimal target cell and the hysteresis value selections for a base station's automatic operational optimization of the LTE system with the gathered informaton effects to the handover performance. The simulation results show distinguished handover performances in terms of the most important performance indexes of handover, handover failure rate and load balancing.

In this paper, we analyze the connectivity of cognitive radio ad-hoc networks in a log-normal shadow fading environment. Considering secondary user and primary user's locations and primary user's active state are randomly distributed according to a homogeneous Poisson process and taking into account the spectrum sensing efficiency of secondary user, we derive mathematical models to investigate the connectivity of cognitive radio ad-hoc networks in three aspects and compare with the connectivity of ad-hoc networks. First, from the viewpoint of a secondary user, we study the communication probability of that secondary user. Second, we examine the possibility that two secondary users can establish a direct communication link between them. Finally, we extend to the case of finding the probability that two arbitrary secondary users can communicate via multi-hop path. We verify the correctness of our analytical approach by comparing with simulations. The numerical results show that in cognitive radio ad-hoc networks, high fading variance helps to remarkably improve connectivity behavior in the same condition of secondary user's density and primary user's average active rate. Furthermore, the impact of shadowing on wireless connection probability dominates that of primary user's average active rate. Finally, the spectrum sensing efficiency of secondary user significantly impacts the connectivity features. The analysis in this paper provides an efficient way for system designers to characterize and optimize the connectivity of cognitive radio ad-hoc networks in practical wireless environment.
The conventional on-demand mobile ad hoc routing algorithms (DSR and AODV) initiate route discovery only after a path breaks, incurring a significant cost and time in detecting the disconnection and establishing a new route. In this theory, we investigate adding proposed pro-active route selection and maintenance to the conventional on-demand mobile ad hoc routing algorithms(DSR and AODV). The key idea is to be only considered likely to be a path break when the received packet power becomes close to the minimum critical power and to be generated the forewarning packet when the signal power of a received packet drops below a optimal threshold value. After generated the forewarning packet, the source node can initiate rout discovery in advance; potentially avoiding the disconnection altogether. Our extensive simulation study shows that the proposed advance-active route selection and maintenance algorithms outperforms the conventional on-demand routing protocol based on DSR and AODV in terms of packet delivery ratio, packet latency and overhead.
In this study, the sensitivity of an active pixel sensor (APS) was adjusted by employing a gate/body-tied (GBT) p-channel metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (PMOSFET)-type photodetector with a transfer gate. A GBT PMOSFET-type photodetector can amplify the photocurrent generated by light. Consequently, APSs that incorporate GBT PMOSFET-type photodetectors are more sensitive than those APSs that are based on p-n junctions. In this study, a transfer gate was added to the conventional GBT PMOSFET-type photodetector. Such a photodetector can adjust the sensitivity of the APS by controlling the amount of charge transmitted from the drain to the floating diffusion node according to the voltage of the transfer gate. The results obtained from conducted simulations and measurements corroborate that, the sensitivity of an APS, which incorporates a GBT PMOSFET-type photodetector with a built-in transfer gate, can be adjusted according to the voltage of the transfer gate. Furthermore, the chip was fabricated by employing the standard 0.35 ㎛ complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology, and the variable sensitivity of the APS was thereby experimentally verified.
