Recently, in the smart construction field, it is possible to construct spatial information of 3D data base quickly and accurately using drones, LiDARs and ARs,. Most public ordering institutions are pushing for the efficiency of construction work through establishing and announcing road maps and guidelines for utilizing BIM for the entire life cycle of construction. However, in most policies, the impact of 3D data on the entire life cycle is limited by only partially constructing and utilizing 3D data or by being mentioned. In addition, many public institutions, construction companies and planning companies did not actively utilize survey information during the actual construction phase, despite the possibility of using 3D survey information. In order to confirm the utilization of survey information, a total of eight private construction companies were selected and interviewed by experts. The analysis shows that most of companies lack the performance of drone measurements or have a lack of awareness of advantages, and among them, construction companies are relatively active. Based on these opinions, this study examined the usability of surveying information and examined measures to expand the utilization of survey information in legal and institutional aspects, technology development aspects and industrial development.

The active promotion of construction technology application, aimed at cost reduction, construction time shortening, and performance enhancement during the implementation of Value Engineering (VE) in design, is underway. However, in the process of deriving VE ideas, it is common to simply reuse VE ideas from similar past construction projects, and the application of construction technology is often insufficient. Therefore, in this study, we intend to establish a database linking construction technology information with Building Information Modeling (BIM) models to activate the application of construction technology in the process of deriving VE ideas.

Concrete construction requires utilization of many temporary facilities such as formwork, shoring, and scaffolding. Appropriate use of these temporary facilities greatly impacts the quality, cost, schedule, and safety of concrete construction. The current practice in design and planning of temporary facilities is often manual, error-prone, and re-active based on construction site layout, status, and progress in the field. Early design and planning of temporary facilities for concrete construction using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology offers a potential solution. Although some commercially-available software exists that assists in the generation of temporary facility designs, the construction industry lacks tools that support detailed planning and design of many other temporary facilities. This research presents our early work in automating the design and planning of temporary facilities utilizing BIM. Algorithms were developed to automatically assess geometric conditions of work space to detect required temporary facilities and design them. The proposed methodology was implemented in a test model. By automatically incorporating temporary facilities into BIM, more realistic construction models can be created with less effort and errors. Temporary facilities-loaded models can finally be used for communication, bill of materials, scheduling, etc. and as a benchmark for field installation of temporary formwork, shoring, and scaffolding systems.

The image data of the web camera is used to identify the construction status of the site in a remote office and it can be used for safety management. This study develops a construction schedule simulation system based on the active nD object linked with real image data of web camera from the construction site. The progress control method by 4D object uses a method that the progress of each activity is represented with different colors by progress status. Since this method is still based on a virtual reality object, it is less realistic description for practical engineers. Therefore, in order to take advantage of BIM more realistic, the real image of actual construction status and 4D object of planned schedule in a data date should be compared in a screen simultaneously. Those methodologies and developed system are verified in a case project where a web camera is installed for the verification of the system.
Due to the issues such as omission of data, document based management, maintenance based on measurement data and wire-based network, it is difficult existing maintenance system for railway bridges to act to diverse characteristics of site and environmental changes in real time. With these reasons, there are many constraints in establishing active maintenance strategies for railway bridges. To solve these issues, this study suggests an integrated maintenance business model based on practical utilization and information management based on BIM technology to build a smart maintenance operation system based on ubiquitous computing for railway bridges. To secure its development and practical applications, a quantitative evaluation by questionnaire analysis was performed. Therefore, it is expected that the suggested model will be utilized as a framework model in order to build the smart maintenance operation system from collection of maintenance data to action for railway bridges.

Recently adoption of BIM technology for building renovation and remodeling has been increased in construction industry. However most buildings have trouble in 2D drawing-based BIM modeling, because 2D drawings have not been updated real situations continually. Applying reverse engineering, this study analysed the point cloud data structure and the process for guideline of reverse engineering of architectural MEP, and deducted the relating considerations. To active usage of 3D scanning technique in domestic, the objective of this study is to analyze the point cloud data processing from real site with terrestrial LiDAR and the process from data gathering to data acquisition.

Recently, the rapid proliferation, introduction, and application of the fourth industrial revolution technology has emerged as a trend in the construction market. Building Information Model (BIM) technology is a multidimensional information system that forms the basis of the fourth industrial revolution technology. The river sector utilizing this information-based system is also being actively reviewed, for example, the current measures for maintenance. In recent years, active research and current work should be done to reflect the need for river experts to introduce BIM into the river field. In addition, the development of tools and support software for establishing various information systems is essential for the activation of facility maintenance information systems reflecting advanced technology and to establish and operate management plans. A study on the maintenance of river facilities involves using existing drawings to build a three-dimensional (3D) information model, check the damage utilizing it, and inform it, and utilize it as the data for maintenance reinforcement. This study involved determining a method to build a river facility without the existing information system and using the property maintenance information with 3D modeling to provide a more effective and highly utilized management plan to check maintenance operations and manage damages.

Osteoclasts are multinucleated cells with the unique ability to resorb bone. Elevated activity of these cells under pathologic conditions leads to the progression of bone erosion that occurs in osteoporosis, periodontal disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Thus, the regulation of osteoclast apoptosis is important for bone homeostasis. In this study, we examined the effects of the Janus tyrosine kinase 2 specific inhibitor AG490 on osteoclast apoptosis. We found that AG490 greatly inhibited osteoclast apoptosis. AG490 stimulated the phosphorylation of Akt and ERK. Adenovirus-mediated expression of dominant negative (DN)-Akt and DN-Ras in osteoclasts inhibited the survival of osteoclasts despite the presence of AG490. Cytochrome c release during osteoclast apoptosis was inhibited by AG490 treatment, but this effect was inhibited in the presence of LY294002 or U0126. AG490 suppressed the pro-apoptotic proteins Bad and Bim, which was inhibited in osteoclasts infected with DN-Akt and DN-Ras adenovirus. In addition, constitutively active MEK and myristoylated-Akt adenovirus suppressed the cleavage of pro-caspase-9 and -3 and inhibited osteoclast apoptosis induced by etoposide. Taken together, our results suggest that AG490 inhibited cytochrome c release into the cytosol at least partly by inhibiting the pro-apoptotic proteins Bad and Bim, which in turn suppressed caspase-9 and -3 activation, thereby inhibiting osteoclast apoptosis.

The initial planned annual cost is frequently adjusted under the construction process in construction projects. If the annual cost is reduced than the initial planned cost, the number of possible activities is also reduced from initial planned progress schedule. In such cases, project manager need to replan the progress schedule with possible activities within changed annual cost. However, most project manager will proceed as planned schedule without any change. After the project cost has been exhausted, there are many cases to stop the operation of the construction site. This study developed active 5D CAD system that can replan the progress schedule within changed annual cost and simulate the cost status according to the changed schedule for cost visualization. This system can be used as a decision-making tool in the replaning progress schedule and will be able to increase the practical usability of 5D CAD system.
Recently, as user feedback such as social reading become active, demand has been increased on e-book contents making which is based on user feedback. However, to reflect the user feedback onto the e-book, direct coding is required, which was difficult to the author who was not good at programming. To resolve this problem, Block assembly style feedback editor system, using Blockly was developed. This editor enables to reflect the user feedback by area allocation, component allocation, block editing, and code generating insertion, contrary to the existing way of programming realization in which direct coding was required for input, processing and output separately. This system was developed by using HTML. Javascript, PHP, and Codeigniter. Block editing is enabled to do provision and assembly of blocks by Blockly. The function of code generation & insertion allows to insert the Library function code. Through this system, the general users who are not capable of coding also can reflect feedback without doing actual coding.
