Human action recognition from a video scene has remained a challenging problem in the area of computer vision and pattern recognition. The development of the low-cost RGB depth camera (RGB-D) allows new opportunities to solve the problem of human action recognition. In this paper, we present a comprehensive review of recent approaches to human action recognition based on depth maps, skeleton joints, and other hybrid approaches. In particular, we focus on the advantages and limitations of the existing approaches and on future directions.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of observed action gait training on stroke patients. METHODS: 22 subjects were randomized into two groups. The observed action gait training performed that watched a video of normal gait before gait training and the general gait training without watching it. The experimental group(n=11) performed observed action gait training and the control group(n=11) performed general gait training. Both group received gait training for 3 times per week during 8 weeks. RESULTS: The experimental group showed significant differences in the cadence, gait velocity, stride, step, single limb support, double limb support, stride length and step length(p<.05). The control group showed significant differences only in the stride(p<.05). CONCLUSION: The observed action gait training affected coordination and weight shift, as well as symmetry of the body. Plasticity of the brain was facilitated by repetitive visual and sensory stimulation. The observed action gait training promoted the normal gait by watching the normal gait pattern. In conclusion, motor learning through the sensory stimulation promotes brain plasticity that could improve motor function, and observed action gait training indirectly identified stimulated brain activities.

Objective: The aim of this finite element study was to clarify the mechanics of tooth movement in palatal en-masse retraction of segmented maxillary anterior teeth by using anchor screws and lever arms. Methods: A three-dimensional finite element method was used to simulate overall orthodontic tooth movements. The line of action of the force was varied by changing both the lever arm height and anchor screw position. Results: When the line of action of the force passed through the center of resistance (CR), the anterior teeth showed translation. However, when the line of action was not perpendicular to the long axis of the anterior teeth, the anterior teeth moved bodily with an unexpected intrusion even though the force was transmitted horizontally. To move the anterior teeth bodily without intrusion and extrusion, a downward force passing through the CR was necessary. When the line of action of the force passed apical to the CR, the anterior teeth tipped counterclockwise during retraction, and when the line of action of the force passed coronal to the CR, the anterior teeth tipped clockwise during retraction. Conclusions: The movement pattern of the anterior teeth changed depending on the combination of lever arm height and anchor screw position. However, this pattern may be unpredictable in clinical settings because the movement direction is not always equal to the force direction.
In this study, the concept of autonomous mobility is applied to a medical service robot. The aim of the development of the service robot is for the elderly assisting walking rehabilitation. This study aims that the service robot design parameter is proposed in ergonomic view. The walking assistant path pattern is derived from analyzing the elderly gait analysis. A lever is installed in the AMR in order to measure the pulling force and the leading force of the elderly. A lever mechanism is applied for walking assistant service of the AMR. This lever is designed for measuring the leading force of the elderly. The elderly adjusts the velocity of the robot by applying force to the lever. The action scope and the service mechanism of the robot are developed for considering and analyzing the elderly action patterns. The ergonomic design parameters, that is, dimensions, action scope and working space are determined based on the elderly moving scope. The gait information is acquired by measuring the guide lever force by load cells and working pattern by the electromyography signal.
This paper deals with the gait generation of IWR-III using a kick action to have a walking pattern like human. For this, trajectory planning with the consideration of kick action is done in each walking step, and the coordinate transformation is done for simplifying the kinematics. Balancing motion is analyzed by FDM during the walking, By combining 4-types of pre-defined steps, multi-step walking is done. Using numerical simulator, dynamic analysis, ZMP analysis and system stability is confirmed. Walking motion is visualized by 3D- graphic simulator. As a result, trunk ahead motion effect and impactless smooth walking is implemented by experiment. Finally walking with kick action is implemented the IWR-III system.
The study of home injury and injury prevention has been a neglected area of research and practice. This study has the following purposes: 1) to describe the pattern of home injuries; 2) to analyze the differences in injuries by social characteristics; and 3) to compare the impact of safety structure and action. The data were collected by person-to-person interviews with 450 residents living in Wonju area. The statistical methods used for the analysis were $\chi$2-test and multiple logistic regression. The results are as follows: 1) Whether or not a certain injury has occurred varies by household type. The elderly household reported more injuries than other types of household. 2) Using logistic regression method, we found that safety-related behavioral habit was statistically significant in predicting injury occurrence. However, residence type was not a statistically significant variable. This indicates that cognitive change strategy is more important than structural change strategy.
Glibenclamide(GLY)(1.0 and 3.0 mg/kg), an ATP-dependent $K^+$ channel blocker, when given into the vein in dogs, produced the diuretic action accompanied with the increase of osmolar clearance($C_{osm}$), urinary excretion of $Na^+$ and $K^+$ ($E_{Na}$, $E_K$), and with the decrease in reabsorption rates for $Na^+$ and $K^+$ in renal tubules ($R_{Na}$, $R_K$), and then ratios of $K^+$ against $Na^+$($K^+$/$Na^+$) were decreased. GLY did not affect mean arterial pressure at any doses used. At a low dose(0.1 mg/kg), GLY injected into a renal artery brought about the diurectic action in both experimental and control kidney, however at a higher dose(0.3 mg/kg), GLY appeared significant diuretic action in the control kidney, but not in experimental kidney and the decrease of glomerular filtration rates(GFR), renal plasma flow(RPF), $E_K$, and the increase in $E_{Na}$. In the control kidney, these changes in renal function exhibited the same aspect as shown in intravenous experiments. In experiments given into carotid artery of GLY(0.5 and 1.5 mg/kg), changes in all renal function included the increase in urine volume were the same pattern as shown in intravenous experiments. The above results suggest that glibenclamide produces diuretic action through central function and the action site of the GLY in kidney is the renal distal tubules in dogs.
In this paper, we study on the reinterpretation of Burnside's theorem that is a tool to compute the number of equivalence classes of a group action on a set, and by applying it, we find out the numbers of different patterns in coloring problems of various types of figures with symmetry and use them for computing the numbers of different kinds of chemical compounds.
This paper examined the impacts of the regional developments and dwellers behavior on the Seacoast. Seacoast features a variety of landforms which are created by the action of waves and tidal flows. The coastal landforms are found mainly in the interface between land and sea. Although erosional landforms constitute prominent landscape features as sea stack, sea arch, and rock cliff do, it is nonetheless the depositional features such as beaches, tidal flats, offshore bars, deltas, sanddunes, and coastal plains that have various ramifications for human communities. Among these, beaches and coastal sanddunes are special in that their formation is attributable to the combined action of waves, tidal flows, and winds. The main line of discussion in this dissertation is concerned with the transformation of group of beaches sanddunes along the coastline of Chungcheong-Namdo Province. To some extent, the erosion of coastal dunes has been a global phenomenon. The degradation process occurs most actively when the spring tides attack beaches, berms, and foredunes. Also involved in the transformation of coastal dunes are factors of human agency. The extent, speed, and pattern of their morphological changes are a function of land-use pattern. The reclamation of swale and the exploitation of sands as construction material and silica sand, for example, ruin the feature of coastal dunes.
Partial discharge(PD) in air insulated electric power systems is responsible for considerable power lossesfrom high voltage transmission lines. PD in air often leads to deterioration of insulation by the combined action of the discharge ions bombarding the surface and the action of chemical compounds that are formed by the discharge and may give rise to interference in ommunication systems. PD can indicate incipient failure. Thus understanding and classification of PD in air is very important to discern source of PD. In this paper, we investigated PD in air by using statical method. We classified air discharge with corona, surface discharge and cavity discharge by source of discharge. we used the mean pulse-height phase distribution $H_{qmean}(\psi)$, the max pulse-height phase distribution $H_{qmax}(\psi)$ , the pulse count phase distribution $H_n(\psi)$ and the max pulse height vs. repetition rate $H_{q}(n)$ for analysis PD pattern. We used statistical operators, such as skewness(S+. S-1, kurtosis(K+, K-), mean phase(AP+. AP-), cross-correlation factor(CC) and asymmetry from the distribution.
