  • Aerodynamic noise is becoming the major source of annoyance for modern cars recently and is caused by many different noise sources in a car. Appropriate CFD technologies, therefore, have been developed to resolve the noise problems related with aerodynamics. It is necessary for designers to fully understand the relationship between vehicle aerodynamics and wind noise acoustics. In this study, we simulate the flow fields around two different shapes of side mirror models of passenger car and analyze the noise phenomena around one side mirror model that has lower drag than the other model using Fluent 6.3.

  • As the waterpower generation plant, the subject of this Study, is a facility that produces plenty of electricity corresponds to $196{\sim}240GWh$ annually, and in its generation process it creates a loud noise when the turbine related to the hydraulic turbine dynamo revolves, and since such loud noise must be transmitted to the dynamo room and amplified, it is effecting a lot of influences to the adjacent office and space. In such viewpoint, this Research, based on the soundproof measure presented at the preceding research, has attempted to evaluate about the effect of noise-reduction countermeasure against the hydraulic turbine dynamo using Auralizational Technique through Psycho-Acoustics Experiment. It deems that such result could be applied hereafter as the useful material when setting up a soundproof countermeasure for the hydraulic turbine dynamo room in dam.

  • LES formulation was applied to simulate the flow fields around rotating fan blades tested by DLR. The turbulent flows around fan blade rotating with 500 RPM were simulated and the far-field noise was exactly computed by using the Focus Williams and Hawkings equation with an inclusion of quadrapole source formulation. The dipole noise computed at the far-field by predicted drag and lift forces at steady state was in good agreement with experimental data and the dipole source was also found to be the major factor than other sound sources from unsteady calculation.

  • The self-noise from blade cascade at off-design points mainly comes from separated boundary layer and vortex sheddings, and is also dependent on blade shape. If the incidence angle to the cascade increases, the stalling in blades may occur and the noise level increases significantly. The hybrid method using acoustic analogy was employed to compute the far-field noise spectra and directivity patterns from the separated vortex shedding at off-design points of the cascade of impeller. This paper is compared with the experimental data of a stationary cascade in the same conditions. The simulated result is in excellent .agreement with the measured data except th slight under-prediction near the maximum radiation angle for a dipole sound.

  • The instabilities in rocket engines and gas turbine combustors due to the interaction between the fluid flow (acoustics) and the heat transfer (thermal energy) are called thermoacoustic or combustion instabilities. Almost all analysis assumes constant hot section temperature for Modern mathematical analysis of acoustic oscillations in Rijke type devices. However, it is impossible to predict whether a system is stable or not because the flame or heater response model can have a dramatic effect on predicted growth rates. In this study, A standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model and hybrid combustion model(eddy breakup model and chemical reaction) were used. After steady solution was gotten, unsteady calculation is simulated by perturbating on pressure boundary. As a result, we obtained the relationship of equivalence ratio and frequency by numerical simulation, and they are comparable to the experimental result. In addition, in spite of these results, there are limitations of using turbulent and combustion model in simulation method of thermoacoutic instability

  • 기포 진동 시스템에 대한 수치해석이 수행되었다. 수학적 모델은 기포역학에 대해서는 Keller의 식을, 기포내부 해석을 위해서는 Prosperetti의 식을 채택하였다. Prosperetti는 기포내부 해석을 위해 에너지 방정식을 도입하였으며 매우 정확한 해석을 가능케 하였다. 수치해석결과 기포진동의 주파수 응답곡선에 있어 전형적인 비선형 현상들을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 비선형 현상들에는 점프현상(jump phenomena), 공진주파수의 변화, 그리고 superharmonic 공진점의 발생등이 있다. 비선형 주파수 응답은 기포진동 시스템의 초기조건에 따라 달라지는데 이에 의해 어느 가진 주파수 대역에서는 두개 이상의 해가 존재할 수 있게 된다. 기포진동 시스템에서 비선형 진동현상은 Duffing 방정식과 비교가 되는데 두 시스템은 비슷한 비선형 현상들을 가지고 있다고 볼 수 있다.

Clustering Strategy Based on Graph Method and Power Control for Frequency Resource Management in Femtocell and Macrocell Overlaid System

  • In order to control interference and improve spectrum efficiency in the femtocell and macrocell overlaid system (FMOS), we propose a joint frequency bandwidth dynamic division, clustering and power control algorithm (JFCPA) for orthogonal-frequency-division-multiple access-based downlink FMOS. The overall system bandwidth is divided into three bands, and the macro-cellular coverage is divided into two areas according to the intensity of the interference from the macro base station to the femtocells, which are dynamically determined by using the JFCPA. A cluster is taken as the unit for frequency reuse among femtocells. We map the problem of clustering to the MAX k-CUT problem with the aim of eliminating the inter-femtocell collision interference, which is solved by a graph-based heuristic algorithm. Frequency bandwidth sharing or splitting between the femtocell tier and the macrocell tier is determined by a step-migration-algorithm-based power control. Simulations conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm showed the frequency-reuse probability of the FMOS reuse band above 97.6% and at least 70% of the frequency bandwidth available for the macrocell tier, which means that the co-tier and the cross-tier interference were effectively controlled. Thus, high spectrum efficiency was achieved. The simulation results also clarified that the planning of frequency resource allocation in FMOS should take into account both the spatial density of femtocells and the interference suffered by them. Statistical results from our simulations also provide guidelines for actual FMOS planning.

원심팬 시스템의 공력소음 고신뢰 예측을 위한 수치 비교 연구 (Numerical comparative study on high-fidelity prediction of aerodynamic noise from centrifugal fan system)

  • 본 연구에서는 대상 원심팬 시스템에서 발생하는 유동 현상과 공력 음향 성능을 수치적/실험적으로 분석하고 다양한 수치 기법을 비교하여 평가하고자 하였다. 먼저 원심팬의 성능을 실험적으로 분석하기 위해 반무향실에서 음향 파워를 측정하였으며, 실험 결과를 통해 대상 원심팬 시스템에서 방사되는 소음 성능에 대한 유효 주파수 범위를 파악하고 이에 대한 수치 모사를 실시하였다. 수치적으로 유동 및 음향 파워를 분석하기 위해 Navier-Stokes 방정식과 Ffowcs Williams&Hawkings 방정식을 각각 유동장과 음향장의 지배방정식으로 사용하였으며, 음향장의 구현을 위해 가상의 음향 방사면을 설계하여 사용하였다. 고차 3차원 전산유체역학(Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD)와 연계된 Hybrid-CAA 기법을 사용하여 모사한 음향 파워 레벨과 소음 실험을 통해 측정한 음향 파워 레벨의 비교를 통해 사용된 수치 기법의 정확도 및 수치적 특성을 평가하였다.
