  • The first purpose of this study investigates the influence of stiffening on the acoustic response of stiffened plates, which are often employed in steel structures. And the radiation efficiency is measured by average mean square velocity and sound intensity of stiffened plates. The second, it determines influence of mass, damp and stiffeness due to the partial adhesive visco-elastic material to reduce radiated sound power.

  • In this Paper, we suggested the Half-Bridge inverter for the automotive HID electronic ballast. electronic ballast for automotive HID lamp should be supplied by low-frequency square wave avoiding the acoustic resonance(11kHz ∼ 825kHz). When the HID lamp is hot state, the electronic ballast should supply the sufficient current for a few milli-second to the lamp at the re-strike ignition state. that is called take-over current. We have introduced the new take-over current control method that could have reduced the peak current and supplied the sufficient take-over current.

공기유입이 화재강도에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적인 연구 (An experimental investigation on the errect of air entrainment)

  • An experimental investigation has been made with the objcetive of studying the effects of air entrainment of fire strength. A rich jet flame is considered as an fire, and fire, and the air entrainment is controlled by introducing the tone excitation which is generated by means of a loudspeaker-driven cavity. The excitation frequency is chosen for the resonant frequency identified as a pipe resonance due to acoustic excitation. As the excitation intensity increases, the amplitude of oscillating velocity for inducing air entrainment is increased, the flame height decreased and the structure of diffusion flame gradually transformed to that of premixed flame.

탄성표면파의 반사계수를 이용한 파괴응력의 해석 (The analysis of fracture stress using reflection coefficient of surface acoustic wave)

  • 본 연구에서는 취약한 고체의 표면에 존재하는 crack에 탄성표면파를 입사 시켰을 때 발생하는 반사계수를 측정하여 파괴응력을 해석하는 방법을 연구 분석하였다. Crack이 존재하는 취약한 고체에서의 파괴응력은 임계응력확대계수와 정규화된 최대응력확대계수의 함수로써 나타나며, 이 때 정규화된 최대응력확대계수는 탄성표면파의 반사계수를 측정하여 구할 수 있었다. 실험을 위하여 Pyrex glass원판 중앙에 깊이가 0.5mm~0.9mm인 crack을 제작하였고, SAW wedge transducer를 피치캐치(pitch-catch) 모드로 구성하여 반사계수를 측정하고 파괴응력값을 산출하였으며 UTM(Universal Testing Machine)으로 측정한 값과 비교 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 입체음향시스템을 위한 대표적인 상호간섭제거 기법인 머리전달함수만 (head related transfer function, HRTF) 이용한 기법과 두 귀에 도달하는 소리의 시간차와 세기차를 (interaural time/intensity difference, ITD와 IID) HRTF와 함께 이용한 기법의 상태지수와 ITD/IID 수준을 보이고, 이로부터 두 기법의 유효청취범위를 보인다. 입체음향시스템의 유효청취범위는 청취자가 의도된 음향의 입체감을 왜곡 없이 느낄 수 있는 공간으로 등역 (equalization zone) 또는 sweet spot으로도 부른다.

전립선암의 온열치료를 위한 초음파변환기 개발에 관한 연구 (A study for implementation of ultrasonic transducer in the prostate cancer hyperthermia)

  • The ultrasonic hyperthermia for oncology has been developed and studied. The HIFU(high intensity focused ultrasound) is the most recent method to treat the tumor by using ultrasound. In this study, an insertion-type transducer for treating a prostate cancer, which can focus the ultrasonic beam mechanically and electrically, was designed and developed. The developed transducer was composed of three arrays, and each array has 32 elements. For the purpose of the mechanical focusing, both side arrays are slanted to the center array by $15^{\circ}$. With this structure, NFL(near field length) was set up as 30 mm. The PZT-4 and two matching layers were used, and the backing layer was excepted to prevent energy losses. The acoustic field analysis and the heating test were performed to evaluate the performance of developed transducer. The shape of an acoustic field, peak pressure, and acoustic pressure distribution were compared with numerical simulation. The NFL was 32 mm, the beam width was 5 mm, focal area was $40\;mm^2$, and peak pressure was 5.5 MPa. With heating by using developed transducer, the temperature increased up to $33^{\circ}C$ at focal zone. As a result of this study, the usefulness of suggested transducer for prostate cancer hyperthermia was confirmed by the acoustic field analysis and the heating test with TMM(tissue mimicking) phantom.

Factors Related to Successful Energy Transmission of Focused Ultrasound through a Skull : A Study in Human Cadavers and Its Comparison with Clinical Experiences

  • Objective : Although magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) has been used as minimally invasive and effective neurosurgical treatment, it exhibits some limitations, mainly related to acoustic properties of the skull barrier. This study was undertaken to identify skull characteristics that contribute to optimal ultrasonic energy transmission for MRgFUS procedures. Methods : For ex vivo skull experiments, various acoustic fields were measured under different conditions, using five non-embalmed cadaver skulls. For clinical skull analyses, brain computed tomography data of 46 patients who underwent MRgFUS ablations (18 unilateral thalamotomy, nine unilateral pallidotomy, and 19 bilateral capsulotomy) were retrospectively reviewed. Patients' skull factors and sonication parameters were comparatively analyzed with respect to the cadaveric skulls. Results : Skull experiments identified three important factors related skull penetration of ultrasound, including skull density ratio (SDR), skull volume, and incidence angle of the acoustic rays against the skull surface. In clinical results, SDR and skull volume correlated with maximal temperature (Tmax) and energy requirement to achieve Tmax (p<0.05). In addition, considering the incidence angle determined by brain target location, less energy was required to reach Tmax in the central, rather than lateral targets particularly when compared between thalamotomy and capsulotomy (p<0.05). Conclusion : This study reconfirmed previously identified skull factors, including SDR and skull volume, for successful MRgFUS; it identified an additional factor, incidence angle of acoustic rays against the skull surface. To guarantee successful transcranial MRgFUS treatment without suffering these various skull issues, further technical improvements are required.

성악인과 일반인 발성의 전기성문검사 및 공기역학적 검사에 대한 연구 (Comparative Evaluation of Electroglottography and Aerodynamic Study in Trained Singers and Untrained Controls under Different Two Pitch)

  • Aerodynamic study is valuable information about the vocal efficiency in translating airflow to acoustic signal. The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between trained singers and untrained controls under different two pitch by simultaneous using the airway interruption method and electroglottography (EGG). Under singing a Korean lied 'Gene', 20 (Male 10, Female 10) trained singers were studied on two one-octave different tone. Mean flow rate (MFR) , subglottic pressure (Psub) and intensity were measured with aerodynamic test using the Phonatory function analyzer (Nagashima Ltd. Model PS 77H, Tokyo, Japan). Closed quotients (Qx), jitter and shimmer were also investigated by electroglottography using Lx speech studio (Laryngograph Ltd, London, UK). These data were compared with those of normal controls. MFR and Psub were increased on high pitch tone in all subject groups. Statistically significant increasing of Qx and intensity were observed in male trained singers on high pitch tone (Qx;p = .025, intensity;p < .001). Beacasue of increasing of Qx and intensity, vocal efficiency was also significantly increased in male singers (p < .001). The trained singers' phonation was more efficient than untrained singers. The result means that the trained singers can increase the loudness with little changing of mean flow rate, subglottic pressure but more increasing of glottic closed quotients.

고속철도차량의 터널 소음을 위한 차음 전략 (Sound Insulation Strategy for the Tunnel Noise in a High Speed Train)

  • 터널 내에서 고속철도 차량의 실내소음은 개활지 대비 5dB~7dB정도 증가한다. 그 원인은 터널 내 차체 외부의 음향 인텐시티가 급격히 증가하기 때문인데, 특히, 측면재의 외부에서는 개활지에 비해서 음향 인텐시티의 증가가 가장 크다. 따라서 터널 내에서는 차체의 측면을 통하여 음향파워의 투과 전달이 커질 가능성이 상당히 높다. 본 논문에서는 현재 개발중인 차세대 고속 철도차량의 터널 내 실내소음을 저감시키기 위한 종합적인 차음 전략을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 차체의 주요 차음재인 바닥 적층재, 측면 적층재 및 복층 유리창의 시편을 제작하여 ASTM E2249-02에 근거하여 투과손실 측정한다. 측정 데이터에 근거하여 차음 성능상의 문제점을 진단하고, 차음성능 향상을 위한 층별 개선 방안과 적층 구조의 개선 방안을 제시한다.

뇌졸중으로 인한 삼킴장애 환자의 경부근육전기자극치료에 따른 음성 변화 (Voice Change Associated with Swallowing Disorder Caused by a Stroke After Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation)

  • 이 연구는 뇌졸중으로 인한 삼킴장애 환자를 대상으로 반복된 경부근육전기자극치료(NMES) 과정에서 나타나는 음성의 변화를 음향음성학적 분석 방법으로 분석하고, NMES 중재가 음성에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 2010년 2월 부터 2011년 3월까지 인천광역시의 2개 병원에서 삼킴장애로 진단을 받은 발성이 가능한 15명의 남성을 대상으로 2개월 동안 반복된 경부근육전기자극치료를 실시하였다. 음성은 강도, 음도($F_0$), 음질(Jitter, Shimmer, NNE; Normalized Noise Energy)을 측정하였고, 중재가 종료된 1주 후에 변화된 음성이 유지되었는지를 분석하였다. 연구결과, NMES 중재 후 대상자의 삼킴 기능 회복과 함께 음성 강도가 향상되었고, 성대 진동의 주기성(Jitter, Shimmer)이 안정되었다(P<0.05). 그러나 음도는 유의한 차이가 없었고, NNE는 중재 후 향상되었지만 여전히 비정상적인 수치를 보였다. 이 결과는 반복된 경부근육전기자극치료가 삼킴 능력의 회복과 함께 음성 강도의 향상 및 성대 진동 주기성의 안정화에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 가능성을 시사한다.
