  • As the accuracy of manufactured goods needed high-accuracy processing has made the efficiency of NC and measurment technology develop, the innovation of machine tools has influence the development of the semi-conductor and optical technology. We can mention that a traction role of the acceleration for the development like that depends on the development of the measurement technics - Stylus instrument method, STM, SEM, Laser interferometer method - which are used for measuring the movement accuracy of machine tools. The movement error factors in movement accuracy are expressed as yaw, roll, and pitch etc. Machining center has 21 movement error factors including of 3 axies joint errors because that has 3 axies and has been measured as the standard of the unloaded condition until now inspite of getting static, dynamic, and servo-gain errors in the case of expending the error range. Therefore, this study tries to measure position accuracy according to loading on the X-Y table of the machining center.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare two multivariate cumulative sum (MCUSUM) charts designed for spatio-temporal surveillance in terms of not only temporal detection performance but also spatial detection performance. Method: Experiments under various configurations are designed and performed to test two CUSUM charts, namely SMCUSUM and RMCUSUM. In addition to average run length(ARL), two measures of spatial identification accuracy are reported and compared. Results: The RMCUSUM chart provides higher level of spatial identification accuracy while two charts show comparable performance in terms of ARL. Conclusion: The RMCUSUM chart has more flexibility, robustness, and spatial identification accuracy when compared to those of the SMCUSUM chart. We recommend to use the RMCUSUM chart if control limit calibration is not an urgent task.

  • In this paper, we focus on the accuracy estimation of laser scanning mobile mapping system using Lynx Mobile Mapper. For this, we surveyed checkpoints(181 points) in study areas. A method to estimate the accuracy of laser scanning mobile mapping system based on the measurement range, interval of control points and gps signal environments. As a result, to ensure reliable measurement results, we must be made a plan considering Measure range(60m or under) and operation. The estimation results showed the need for improving accuracy using control points about 150m interval according to environment error source.

  • Simultaneous estimation of accuracy and probability corresponding to a prediction interval is considered in this study. Traditional application of confidence interval forecasting consists in evaluation of interval limits for a given significance level. The wider is this interval, the higher is probability and the lower is the forecast precision. In this paper a measure of stochastic forecast accuracy is introduced, and a procedure for balanced estimation of both the predicting accuracy and confidence probability is elaborated. Solution can be obtained in an optimizing approach. Suggested method is applied to constructing confidence intervals for parameters estimated by normal and t distributions

  • We examine the principle of a modified Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) technique to measure the free spectral range of a Fabry-Perot etalon (FPE). The FPE's periodic transmission of phase-modulated light allows us to adopt a sampling theorem to develop a new relationship for the PDH error signal. This leads us to find the key parameters governing the measurement accuracy: the phase modulation index ${\beta}$ and the FPE finesse. Without any additional complexity for background noise reduction, we achieve a measurement accuracy of 0.5 ppm. The improvement is mainly attributed to the wide-band phase modulation approaching ${\beta}=10$, and partly to the use of both reflected and transmitted light from the FPE and good FPE finesse.

  • A new method is used to estimate the amount of water evaporation from Class A Pan with higher precision and accuracy. The principle of method is to detect the weight change of a buoyant sinker resulting from a change in water level of Class A Pan. A strain-gauge load cell is used to measure the weight change. Field observation of evaporation was done at Pohang Meteorological Station from June 24 to August 4, 2002. By using this new method, it is possible to measure hourly evaporation accurately even under a strong solar radiation and wind disturbance, enabling a direct comparison of evaporation with other meteorological elements. At night, under low humidity and high wind speed conditions, more evaporation was recorded than during daytime. Maximum evaporation rates observed during this period exceed 1.0 mm/hour under the sunny and windy conditions with low humidity. To understand relationships between meteorological elements and latent heat flux at ground level, we suggest intensive held experiments using high accuracy evaporation recording instruments with hourly time interval.

  • In doubly-censored data, an originating event time and a terminating event time are interval-censored. In certain analyses of such data, a researcher might be interested in the elapsed time between the originating and terminating events as well as regression modeling with risk factors. Therefore, in this study, we introduce a model evaluation method to measure the predictive ability of a model based on negative predictive values. We use a semiparametric estimate of the predictive accuracy to provide a simple and flexible method for model evaluation of doubly-censored survival outcomes. Additionally, we used simulation studies and tested data from a prostate cancer trial to illustrate the practical advantages of our approach. We believe that this method could be widely used to build prediction models or nomograms.

  • Recently, Hong-Jun Kim et al. introduced an improved process incapability index $C^*_{psk}$ by the transformation of the $C_{psk}{\;}C^*_{psk}$. A simple transformation of $C_{psk}$, can be regard as a process incapability index, provides an uncontaminated separation between information concerning the process accuracy and precision while this kind of information separation is not available with the $C_{psk}$. By an identical conception, in this article a new process incapability index $C^*_{psk}$ for Non-Normal process can be proposed by the transformation of the process capability index $C^*_{psk}$. The motivation behind introduction of $C^*_{psk}$ is that process capability index $C^*_{psk}$ cannot give information of the process accuracy and precision. A significant result of this research that $C^*_{psk}$ for the case where the target value T is equal to the midpoint of the specification limits or not Is evaluated without respect to T. Accordingly, $C^*_({psk})$ will be propose a reasonable process incapability measure for Non-Normal process

  • In this paper, a 110 dB, 1.024 MHz fourth-order single-loop Delta-Sigma sigma modulator has been presented with an over-sampling ratio of 128 and an overload factor of -6 dB for a bandwidth of 4 kHz. In particular, this ${\Sigma}-{\Delta}$ modulator is well suited for high accuracy measure systems. The whole modulator consumes only 3-mW from a single 3.3V supply in a $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.

  • Dilution of Precision (DOP), as a measure of positioning accuracy, is an essential factor. Therefore, the DOP relationship between systems is very important. In this paper, the DOP relationship between TDOA and TOA in systems lacking clock bias is derived analytically and verified experimentally. Also, using those of earlier studies, the DOP relationship in each of defined systems is derived analytically.
