  • In International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS), companies have difficulties in managing efficiently own accounting rules and demonstrating the adequacy of accounting processes with the conventional accounting system. BRMS(Business Rule Management System) provides methods for managing, processing, and monitoring these accounting rules according to accounting principles and situation. This paper proposed the BRMS-based financial programming framework for managing and processing the accounting principles and the own accounting rules.

  • Despite the fact that the implementation of 5% rule is widely recognized to enhance the transparency of capital market and fairness of corporate governance market, a few evidences present information effect of 5% rule. Using 7,088 non-financial firm-year observations listed on the Korea Stock Exchange from 2006 to 2012, we analyze the relation between trading volume and 5% rule disclosure. The results show that the daily and abnormal trading volume is increased when 5% rule disclosure is released. Moreover, the trading volume is significantly increased during cooling period. Specifically, trading volume is significantly greater when one day before cooling period or the expiration day of cooling period. We also find the information effect of firms with stable ownership structure before 5% rule disclosure is relatively smaller than the firms with unstable ownership structure with unstable ownership structure. These results imply that capital market participants use the information from 5% rule disclosure and reflect in their real economic decision.

  • This paper presents new approaches for the calculation for the calculation of each user's wheeling prices based on the economic analysis method with focus on the postage stamp rule. The suggested postage stamp rules can overcome the following problems embedded in the conventional accounting-costs-based methods such as the volatileness of wheeling prices depending deprieciation methods, emerging the wheeling free-riders due to the difference between accounting life-time and technical life-time, price discrimination between firm and non-firm network users, etc. To solve these problems we suggest new postage stamp rules employing capital recovery factor for investment costs treatment and applying technical life-time. Furthermore, we have suggested a new formulation for non-firm wheeling users based on the wheeling energies. In the case study, the results of suggested postage stamp methodologies are compared with those of conventional approaches.

  • A new predictive classification rule for assigning future cases into one of two multivariate normal population (with unknown normal mixture model) is considered. The development involves calculation of posterior probability of each possible normal-mixture model via a default Bayesian test criterion, called intrinsic Bayes factor, and suggests predictive distribution for future cases to be classified that accounts for model uncertainty by weighting the effect of each model by its posterior probabiliy. In this paper, our interest is focused on constructing the classification rule that takes care of uncertainty about the types of covariance matrices (homogeneity/heterogeneity) involved in the model. For the constructed rule, a Monte Carlo simulation study demonstrates routine application and notes benefits over traditional predictive calssification rule by Geisser (1982).

  • This kind of case study suggests a way for future's accounting standards under the complicated situation of K-IFRS. A change of accounting standards causes a severely different performance between K-IFRS and K-GAAP. Further, the change affects the whole business of the financial companies. As the K-IFRS is not a rule based accounting standard but a principle based accounting standard, companies have to keep their internal system in detail. Likewise, companies can get their competitiveness in the field.

  • This study suggests an accounting information processing model based on internet standard XBRL which applies an extensible business reporting language, the XML technology. Due to the differences in document characteristics among various companies, this is very important with regard to the purpose of accounting that the system should provide useful information to the decision maker. This study develops a data mining model based on XML hierarchy which is stored as XBRL in the X-Hive data base. The data ming analysis is experimented by the data mining association rule. And based on XBRL, the DC-Apriori data mining method is suggested combining Apriori algorithm and X-query together. Finally, the validity and effectiveness of the suggested model is investigated through experiments.

  • The Korean government recently announced greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions reduction target as 30% of 2020 business as usual (BAU) emission projection. As carbon emissions trading is widely used to achieve reductions in the emissions of pollutants, this study deals with the sectoral allocation of initial carbon emission permits in Korea. This research tests the effectiveness of a variety of allocation rules based on the bankruptcy problem in cooperative game theory and hybrid input-output tables which combines environmental statistics with input-output tables. The impact of initial emission permits allocation on economic growth is also analyzed through green growth accounting. According to the analysis result, annual GDP growth rate of Korea is expected to be 4.03%, 4.23%, and 3.67% under Proportional, Constrained Equal Awards, and Constrained Equal Losses rules, respectively. These rates are approximately from 0.69% points to 0.13% points lower than the growth rate of 4.36% without compulsory $CO_2$ reduction. Thus, CEA rule is the most favorable in terms of GDP growth. This study confirms the importance of industry level study on the carbon reduction plan and initial carbon emission permits should reflect the characteristic of each industry.

  • There may be some problems in size fitness for ready-made-clothes purchasers with fatty body shape especially for them with abdominal obesity. The purpose of this study was to improve the wearing comfort of Middle-aged women slacks by setting grading points and developing grading rules proper to the abdominal obesity. The subjects in this study was over $25kg/m^2$ of the BMI, over 85cm of waist, and over 0.8 of WHR. A total of 176 Middle-aged women satisfyingthem were enrolled. The results of this study are as follows: (1) The majority segment is 85-94 size accounting for the 11.36% of subjects. (2) The measurements on 11 size from three groups after drawing slacks pattern on them revealed that the changed values of slacks front and back on the grading point marked are differ, indicating that it is needed to apply body shape and age specific grading rule. (3) The evaluation on the appearance for wearing slacks showed relatively high score, indicating that the grading between sizes within each group was effective. The studies on the body size distribution on each obesity pattern and on the setting size system reflecting characteristics of each body shape should be performed continuously.

  • In the Policy and Charging Control(PCC) architecture of the 3GPP and WiMAX forum, the Policy and Charging Rule Function(PCRF) controls and configures the policies of quality of services(QoS) and accounting to a Policy and Charging Rule Enforcement Function(PCEF). In this paper, we categorize the errors into three types that include a disconnection with peer entity, a delayed or no response and a response with failure result, and propose a scheme to automatically synchronize the data between the PCRF and the PCEF for each type of error. Also, we conduct a quantitative analysis to see how much it can help to maintain the cell capacity of the mobile VoIP service in a WiBro network, which is implemented in Korea according to the standards of WiMAX. We can see that our proposed scheme improves the performances of PCC by preventing the waste of radio resources, the overload of systems, the memory leakage of servers, the system shutdown, and so on. We have validated the scheme by implementation, and reflected it in WiMAX standard documents.

  • The study covers three components of the facility for protecting public utilities market participants in the public utilities market: prevention of potential poverty, reduction of existing poverty and compensation to the injured party in a case of tort that exacerbates or threatens to exacerbate its poverty. The analysis is based on official statistical information on the activities of the public utilities sector. Operational information of public utility service providers regarding certain indicators of their activity in the work was not studied. This approach narrows the empirical basis of the study, but at the present stage in the context of different rates of implementation of changes in regions, sectors and at the level of individual entities, as well as lack of uniformity in the structure of indicators published by service providers, analysis allows to identify «bottlenecks» of legal regulation, which are systemic in nature and largely independent of the subjective factor.
