  • Wolsong Unit 2,3&4 has been performing a containment integrity test during power operation. This test could impact to the safe operation during test. If an accident occurs during pressure dropping phase, reactor trip can be delayed because of the increased pressure difference which causes a time delay to reach the trip set-point. On the contrary, if an accident occurs during pressure increasing phase, reactor trip could be accelerated because the pressure difference to the trip set-point decrease. Point Lepreau nuclear power plant, which installed GCLMS (Gross Containment Leakage Monitoring System) in 1990, has discontinued the test since 1992 due to these adverse effects. Therefore, we evaluated the risk to obviate the GCLMS test based on PWR's ILRT (Integrated Leak Rate Test) extension methodologies. The results demonstrate that risk increase rate is not high in case of performing only ILRT test at every 5 years instead of doing GCLMS test at every 1.5 years. In addition, the result shows that GCLMS test can be removed on a risk-informed perspective since risk increasement is in acceptable area of regulatory acceptance criteria.

전력용 IGBT의 시뮬레이션과 과도 해석 (Simulation of Power IGBT and Transient Analysis)

  • The IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) is a power semiconductor device that has gained acceptance among circuit design engineers for motor drive and power converter applications. IGBT devices(International Rectifier, Proposed proposed model etc) have the best features of both power MOSFETs and power bipolar transistors, i.e., efficient voltage gate drive requirememts and high current density capability. When designing circuit and systems that utilize IGBTs or other power semiconductor devices, circuit simulations are needed to examine how the devices affect the behavior of the circuit. The interaction of the IGBT with the load circuit can be described using the device model and the state equation of the load circuit. The voltage rise rate at turn-off for inductive loads varies significantly for IGBTs with different base life times, and this rate of rise is important in determing the voltage overshoot for a given series resistor-inductor load circuit. Excessive voltage overshoot is potentially destructive, so a snubber protection circuit may be required. The protection circuit requirements are unique for the IGBT and can be examined using the model. The IGBT model in this paper is verified by comparing the results of the model with experimented results for various circuit operating conditions. The model performs well and describes experimented results accurately for the range of static and dynamic condition in which the device is intended to be operated.

Hot Leg Temperature Uncertainty due to Thermal Stratification

  • For the Reactor Coolant System(RCS) flow rate measurement by the secondary calorimetric heat balance method, the coolant temperature of the hot leg is needed. Several Resistance Temperature Detectors(RTD) are installed in the hot leg to measure the temperature, but the average value of RTDs does not correctly represent the energy-averaged(bulk) temperature because of the thermal stratification phenomenon. Therefore some correction is introduced to predict the bulk temperature, but the correction inevitably contains uncertainty because the stratification is not defined well quantitatively yet. Therefore a large uncertainty for the correction has been used for the conservative estimation. But unrealistically large uncertainty causes degradation of the measurement method and yields difficulty to meet the acceptance criterion in start-up flow measurement test. In this paper, an analytical estimation is made on the correction and the related uncertainty using the measured hot leg velocity profile of System 80 reactor flow model test and the measured temperatures of YGN 3&4 and PVNGS 1&2 start-up tests. The results reveal that the magnitude of the correction uncertainty is much smaller than that used in the previous design. Therefore, the confidence on the flow rate measurement method can be improved and the difficulty in start-up flow measurement test can be lessened if the smaller correction uncertainty obtained through this estimation is applied.

Writer Verification Using Spatial Domain Features under Different Ink Width Conditions

  • In this paper, we present a comparative study of spatial domain features for writer identification and verification with different ink width conditions. The existing methods give high error rates, when comparing two handwritten images with different pen types. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to design the feature with different ink width conditions. To address this problem, contour based features were extracted using a chain code method. To improve accuracy at higher levels, we considered histograms of chain code and variance in bins of histogram of chain code as features to discriminate handwriting samples. The system was trained and tested for 1,000 writers with two samples using different writing instruments. The feature performance is tested on our newly created dataset of 4,000 samples. The experimental results show that the histogram of chain code feature is good compared to other methods with false acceptance rate of 11.67%, false rejection rate of 36.70%, average error rates of 24.18%, and average verification accuracy of 75.89% on our new dataset. We also studied the effect of amount of text and dataset size on verification accuracy.

  • According to KS F 2560, water-reducing agents used when mixing concrete are to undergo quality evaluation testing slump, air contents, setting time, etc., when delivered from the admixture factory to the ready mixed concrete site. Yet in actual acceptance testing this could be substituted by the score report of the admixture company, in which a possibility of low reliability lies. Therefore this study sought to analyze whether by artificially changing the solid content rate of lignin- and naphthalene-based water-reducing agents and using a liquid densimeter evaluate the quality of the admixture. The results showed that the Type B liquid densimeter was most appropriate and 50cc the most appropriate capacity for the mass cylinder. Also, judging from the changes in density and pH according to the changes in solid content rate, it concludes that a rapid appraisal of the quality of lignin- and naphthalene-based water-reducing agents would be possible using a Type B liquid densimeter.

Virtual Network Embedding with Multi-attribute Node Ranking Based on TOPSIS

  • Network virtualization provides an effective way to overcome the Internet ossification problem. As one of the main challenges in network virtualization, virtual network embedding refers to mapping multiple virtual networks onto a shared substrate network. However, existing heuristic embedding algorithms evaluate the embedding potential of the nodes simply by the product of different resource attributes, which would result in an unbalanced embedding. Furthermore, ignoring the hops of substrate paths that the virtual links would be mapped onto may restrict the ability of the substrate network to accept additional virtual network requests, and lead to low utilization rate of resource. In this paper, we introduce and extend five node attributes that quantify the embedding potential of the nodes from both the local and global views, and adopt the technique for order preference by similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS) to rank the nodes, aiming at balancing different node attributes to increase the utilization rate of resource. Moreover, we propose a novel two-stage virtual network embedding algorithm, which maps the virtual nodes onto the substrate nodes according to the node ranks, and adopts a shortest path-based algorithm to map the virtual links. Simulation results show that the new algorithm significantly increases the long-term average revenue, the long-term revenue to cost ratio and the acceptance ratio.

국내산 전립분을 첨가한 머핀의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Muffins with Korean Whole Wheat Flour)

  • This study aimed to examine quality properties of muffin by the amount of addition of Korean whole wheat flour (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) as there is increasingly higher interest in the healthy food. The effect of Korean whole wheat flour were evaluated in terms of height, volume, weight, specific volume, baking loss rate, colorimeter, and sensory evaluation. Texture and moisture contents of muffins when storage (1, 3, 5 days) was measured. As the ratio of Korean whole wheat flour increased, the baking loss rate and weight increased, whereas the volume and specific volume was not significant. During storage, moisture content of muffins decreased significantly. The addition of Korean whole wheat flour increased lightness (L value) of crust and crumb decreased, whereas redness (a value) and yellowness (b value) increased. The control group (CON) showed the highest springiness lowest hardness. The muffin with 25% of Korean whole wheat flour (WHF25) in test group showed the high springiness low hardness. According to the sensory evaluation, the control group showed the highest score in terms of taste, however WHF25 showed the highest score in appearance, color, flavor, texture and overall acceptance, WHF25 showed the best result and the optimum addition of Korean whole wheat flour. Furthermore, this study proposes the possibility of development of various confectionery with using Korean whole wheat flour.

타가토스를 첨가한 머핀의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Muffins with Tagatose)

  • This study investigated the quality characteristics of muffins prepared with tagatose. The effect of tagatose were evaluated in terms of height, volume, weight, specific volume, baking loss rate, moisture contents, colorimeter, sensory evaluation, and texture of muffins during storage (1, 3, 5 days) and texture was measured using a texture analyzer. As the ratio of tagatose increased, the volume, specific volume, baking loss rate, and height decreased, whereas moisture content increased. During storage, control without tagatose showed the highest springiness lowest hardness by TPA, whereas hardness of muffins increased and springiness decreased as the contents of tagatose increased. Lightness of crust and crumb decreased significantly as contents of tagatose increased. According to the sensory evaluation, the control group showed the highest score in terms of texture but was not significant with 2% tagatose (T2). For appearance, color, flavor, taste, and overall acceptance, T2 showed the best result.

  • As the integrated circuit device shrinks to the smaller dimension, the chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) process was required for the global planarization of inter-metal dielectric(IMD) layer with free-defect. However, as the IMD layer gets thinner, micro-scratches are becoming as major defects. Chemical-Mechanical polishing(CMP) of conductors is a key process in Damascene patterning of advanced interconnect structure. The effect of alternative commercial slurries pads, and post-CMP cleaning alternatives are discuss, with removal rate, scratch dentisty, surface roughness, dishing, erosion and particulate density used as performance metrics. Electroplated copper deposition is a mature process from a historical point of view, but a very young process from a CMP perspective. While copper electro deposition has been used and studied for decades, its application to Cu damascene wafer processing is only now gaining complete acceptance in the semiconductor industry. The polishing mechanism of Cu-CMP process has been reported as the repeated process of passive layer formation by oxidizer and abrasion action by slurry abrasives. however it is important to understand the effect of oxidizer on copper passivation layer in order to obtain higher removal rate and non-uniformity during Cu-CMP process. In this paper, we investigated the effects of oxidizer on Cu-CMP process regarding the additional volume of oxidizer.

특발성 식도비후환자에서 EEA Stapler를 사용한 식도위문합 후에 발생한 식도협착 -1례 보고- (A case Report of Esophageal Stricture after Esophagogastric Anastomosis with EEA Stapler in a patient of Idiopathic Muscular Hypertrophy of Esophagus)

  • Since Steichen and Ravich`s pioneer work in 1972 proved that staples reduced anastomotic leaks and operative time, the use of EEA stapler`s in esophagogastrostomy have gained acceptance and popularity. But overriding these benefits are the high stricture rate, which leads to the reappearance of dysphagia. The mechanism for the development of stricture in stapled anastomosis is likely to be due to the lack of mucosa to mucosa apposition and presence of necrotic tissue between the luminal edge and the rows of the stapler. All strictures were easily dilated. Recently, we encountered a patient who suffered from an esophageal stricture that slowly developed 10 months after an esophagogastric anastomosis with a EEA 425 was performed due to severe muscular hypertrophy of esophagus. Because the stricture failed to respond to the Bougienage, we reoperated using a EEA 28 this time. We feel that this case review helps to show that despite the very low leakage rate in small size EEA stapler, there is also a very high risk of stricture.
