This study was carried out to analyze deterioration characteristics of color-pigments painted Hanji to preserve and restore the cultural properties. On the traditional painting technique, glue was used with pigments in various ways for painting, but it eventually caused the deterioration of paintings. Thus, five colors were selected and analyzed for this study for investigating their characteristics of deteriration. Three kinds of glues (Wugyo, Nokgyo, and Togyo) and two kinds of pigments (Chinese and Gilsang) were painted on the Hanji for the accelerated aging test. And then color fastness of pigments and tensile strength of painted Hanji were measured for the estimation of deterioration degree. The results of SEM-EDS showed that Chinese pigments including blue, yellow, green, and red were composed of inorganic substances but the brown was organic substance. Gilsang pigments were composed mainly of Si and Ti ions. Color fastness of the Gilsang pigment blue, yellow, green, and brown were better than those of Chinese. Chinese pigment brown with organic substance showed the worst color fastness. Generally, Chinese pigments painted Hanji showed higher tensile strength than Gilsang in the accelerated aging test. Hanji treated with Chinese pigment and Nokgyo (antler glue) blends and Gilsang pigment and Togyo (rabbit pelt glue) blends showed higher tensile strength than the others. And Andong Hanji showed the highest tensile strength.
Interest in the durability assessment and structural performance has increased according to an increase of concrete structures in salt damage environment recent years. Reliable way ensuring the most accelerated corrosion test is a method of performing the rebar corrosion monitoring as exposed directly to the marine test site exposure. However, long-term exposure test has a disadvantage because of a long period of time. Therefore, many studies on reinforced concrete in salt damage environments have been developed as alternatives to replace this. However, accelerated corrosion test is appropriate to evaluate the critical chlorine concentration in the short term, but only accelerated test method, is not easy to get correct answer. Accuracy of correlation acceleration test depends on the period of the degree of exposure environments. Therefore, in this study, depending on the concrete mix material, by the test was performed on the basis of the composite degradation of the salt damage, and investigate the difference of corrosion initiation time of the rebar, and indoor corrosion time of the structure, of the marine environment of the actual environments were inuestigated. The correlation coefficient was derived in the experiment. Long-term exposure test was actually conducted in consideration of the exposure conditions submerged zone, splash zone and tidal zone. The accelerated corrosion tests were carried out by immersion conditions, and by the combined deterioration due to the carbonation and accelerated corrosion due to wet and dry condition.
The domestic pine was used to investigate the change of specific gravity, moisture contents, color and anatomical structure by accelerated weathering test (AWT). According to visual inspection, a few knot separation and looseness as well as considerable surface discoloration was found out. However, the crack and split of surface texture have been never occurred till the last step of AWT. On the whole, as the time of accelerated weathering test has increased, the specific gravity has decreased. Finally, after the 9th week of AWT, the specific gravity was 0.38 that reached to 82% compared to the control specimen. In case of moisture content (MC), it showed rising trend in its early stages, however, after 3th week of AWT it have displayed steady state. A deterioration of cell-wall components was not remarkably observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), however the ray fractures of AWT specimen were observed more than those of control specimen. The full fracture of epithelial cell around resin canal was observed by optical microscope. The fracture of ray of 2th cycle AWT specimen was first, followed by 1th week and control group. A distortion of tracheid for early spring wood and fracture of epithelial cell were generally observed by a similar level, regardless of duration time of AWT. Therefore, it is obvious that increasing duration time of AWT does not affect the deterioration of micro-structure for wood members from this study. Although a considerable change of anatomical properties was not found, there is a need of further research to understand how will the changes of specific gravity and MC on the physical properties of wood member.

This paper presents a method to estimate a storage life for loss of stabilizer content as storage periods using accelerated life test data. The estimate of storage life based on deterministic accelerated life test and degradation data cannot describe a condition distribution and storage life distribution. Previously, the method to show the condition distribution and storage life distribution by using gamma process has been studied. But it has limitation because it is impossible to collect the deterioration data at initial production phase. The estimated storage life presented by this study shows the similar value to previous studies and the method can describe the condition distribution and storage life distribution. So, the estimation method studied in this paper can be used for a life cycle management about deterioration of propellant for propulsion unit or components of missile, too.
Concrete structure can be deteriorated by ingress of moisture and aggressive agents. To maintain the sound performance of concrete structure during the service life, it needs to protect concrete from ingress of moisture and aggressive agents before arising deterioration of concrete. Protection of concrete is possible by surface treatment. In this study, durability of the functional nano composite inorganic activated carbon based coatings which can provide a barrier against the ingress of moisture or aggressive ions to concrete is discussed. For the durability evaluation of the coatings, fine void structure evaluation test, chloride penetration acceleration test, accelerated carbonation test, freezing and thawing test, and the accelerated test of chemical erosion are conducted. As the result of this study, the functional nano composite inorganic activated carbon based coatings which became one formed complex compound with adsorption and porosity on concrete surface, had an effect on the function of far infrared radiation, antimicrobial action, air cleaning, airing assurance, and the interception of moisture of deterioration factor, chloride ion, carbon dioxide, sulfate, and so on.
In this study, both evaluations by visual imaging for exterior view of coating and by EIS were executed for epoxy primer coated specimens deteriorated by accelerated test, and comparison and analysis were carried out for 2 evaluation methods. In the comparison between total damaged area ratio acquired by image processing method and deterioration point, higher deterioration points were appeared for rusted specimens than for non-rusted specimens. It is attributed that deterioration point per unit area ratio given for rust is higher than for peeling. In the comparison between total damaged area ratio and EIS result, impedance of coating was largely decreased as about TEX>$10^4{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ or less when rust area ratio is more than about 0.1%, and blistering area ratio is more than about 3%. Charge transfer resistance ($R_{ct}$) and double layer capacitance ($C_{dl}$) values were appeared for all specimens except 2 ones, which shows that water is accumulated and steel substrate is corroded at coated film-steel interface. In the comparison between deterioration point and EIS result, more than 10 points as deterioration point were given for specimens of below $10^6{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ of impedance at low frequency. For specimens deteriorated by NORSOK cyclic test, impedance was lowest of all, though deterioration point was not high. It is thought to be attributed that coating system and accelerated deterioration condition of cyclic tested specimens were different from those of main specimens. From the result, it is thought that coating resistance can be relatively more decreased than deterioration degree estimated from exterior view under more severe corrosion environment or in the present of more complex deterioration factors.
This study was carried out to analyze the surface color change according to the weathering time. The surface color of material was one of evaluation indexes in exposure experiment. For the purpose, accelerated weathering test was performed with wood. The weathering time level was composed with 0, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 hours and color difference was estimated with the color difference meter. The surface color was changed to 500 hours that lightness and redness were decreased and yellowness was increased. However it did not changed after 500 hours. It means that the surface color could be the evaluation index of deterioration of the wood but it means very little after certain time.

The 200 class insulation system which adopted to traction motor have excellent dielectric strength but weaken to thermal stress therefore deterioration phenomena analysis according to thermal stress is necessary. Accelerated thermal aging tests have been used to determine thermal reliability of stator coils used as traction motor in electric multiple unit. The conventional aging test is carried on according to IEC 60034-18-31 and IEEE Std. 275-1992. Variation in insulation resistance, P.I, capacitance, dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$) and partial discharge are measured during the aging cycle. Sample coils for traction motor were tested by accelerated aging test which composed of heat, vibration and moisture. Reliability and expected life were evaluated on the insulation system for traction motor.

Major deterioration in concrete structures are salt attack and carbonation. Especially severe problems due to carbonation occur in tile concrete structures of city, tunnel, underground structures. Cracks in concrete during service life including early age due to hydration heat and/or shrinkage accelerate the diffusion of concrete so that the deterioration is also accelerated. In this study, carbonation depths of both non-cracked concrete and cracked concrete are evaluated and weight change test and TGA are carried out. Through the tests, a relation between water-cement ratio and carbonation depth is derived and also carbonation increase rate is derived in the function of crack width.

The role of RCDs(Residual Current Protective Device) that are installed before the load is very important for preventing electric shock and electrical fire. However, although fault rate of RCD is increasing due to deterioration and long period usage, the RCD is permanently used without a checking of performance evaluation and it causes the electrical accident. In this paper, the amount of airborne chloride is researched in domestic costal area and the accelerated life test is conducted using a salt water spray tester in order to decide the life time of RCD. Aa a result of an accelerated life test, the MTTF(Mean Time To Failure) of RCD is 110.81 hours and B10 life time of RCD is 45.81 hours for the all samples. when an accelerated life test result is applied to within 2 km costal area, the life time of RCD is predicted about 5 years.
