Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting the prevention of needle stick injury. Methods: Data collection was conducted during the period July 15-31, 2013 by a self-administered questionnaire involving 220 nurses working in 7 hospitals. The data was analyzed by SPSS v18 and AMOS v18. Results: Actions by nurses to prevent needle stick injury were directly and indirectly influenced by perceived benefits, attitude toward the behavior, perceived behavioral control, and intention underlying the behavior. Specially, perceived behavioral control is verified to have not only direct influence but also indirect influence on the performance of preventive action through the intention underlying the behavior. Also, perceived benefits indirectly influence the intention toward the behavior and performance of preventive action through attitude toward the behavior and perceived behavioral control. The predictor variables in this model are 52% explicable in terms of intention of prevention action against needle stick injury, and 66% explicable in terms of performance of preventive action. Conclusion: To ensure high performance of preventive action against needle stick injury, constructing not only the solution that inspires the intention toward behavior but also a system that can positively solve and improve obstructive factors in behavioral performance is of primary importance.

Students that are enrolled in bachelor degree had a significant higher ATP. Students who are currently dating with an opposite gender showed much higher level of ATP than those are not. Lower group of delayed the time of getting marriage and pregnancy showed highest score of ATP, significantly. Conclusion: Individual factor must be primarily considered when assessing ATP of nursing students, for example current relationship with opposite gender and educational background, attitude toward marriage and pregnancy. Further studies are needed to identify personal factors of the young adults affecting on the ATP.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between caregivers' child rearing characteristics including discipline method, child rearing confidence, attitude, burden, attachment, and cognitive stimulation and preschooler's behavior problems in poor, urban group. Method: A cross-section study design was used. Conveniently selected one hundreds and three preschool aged children and their caregivers who are under National Security Act were recruited. Data was collected using Korean Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBC) comprised of nine sub-dimensions and caregivers' self report questionnaires. Results: Caregivers' discipline method was associated with behavior problems of child. The internalizing and externalizing behavior problem scores including aggressive behavior of children who experienced spanking were significantly higher than children who did not. In addition, Caregivers' child rearing confidence also showed associations with the children's behavior problems. Child behavior problems showed positive relationships with caregivers' child rearing burden, and negative relationships with child rearing attitude, attachment, and cognitive stimulation. Conclusion: Caregivers' negative discipline methods and low child rearing confidence showed significant relationships with children's behavior problems of poor, urban children. Nurses working in primary care and community-based settings are in key positions to address this problem and improve the parenting attitude of low-income caregivers and positively affect the behavior of their children.
Purpose: This descriptive study was conducted to identify the attitudes of nursing college students to North Korean refugees (NKR) and to examine factors influencing these attitudes. Methods: A total of 195 participants completed a structured questionnaire between September and October 2016. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The results of this study were as follows: attitudes toward NKR was 2.74 out of 4 points; cultural receptivity was 3.25 out of 5 points; nationalism was 2.46 out of 4 points. Cultural receptivity (r=.26, p<.001) and nationalism (r=-.18, p=.036) were significantly related to attitudes toward NKR. Unification attitude (${\beta}=0.27$, p <.001) and cultural receptivity (${\beta}=0.20$, p=.005) explained 13.7% of the variance in attitudes toward NKR. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide fundamental data for the development of a nursing education program on multicultural perspectives. Furthermore, these findings might highlight the need for a nursing education program that could enhance understanding of patients from different backgrounds and recognize their differences, going beyond a national point of view as commonly found in Korea. The nursing education program should also promote an open and receptive attitude.

Methods: The participants were 48 nursing students enrolled in M University in Mokpo. Data were collected from September, 2009 through September 2010. Nursing students were tested for their knowledge, attitude, confidence before, immediately after, 4 weeks after, 8 weeks after, 6 months after, and 1 year after BLS training. In addition, their knowledge and skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation were tested 5 times. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/PC 12.0 statistical program Results: Knowledge, attitude and confidence were significantly increased immediately after compared to before BLS training. Knowledge and confidence 6 months after, and attitude, performance ability and technical precision for ventilation and compression 4 weeks after BLS training were significantly decreased compared to immediately after. Conclusion: Overall retention of BLS training effects among nursing students, without reinforcement, decreases significantly after six months following initial training. BLS training in nursing students should be repeated every six months, especially performance training of BLS should be repeated every 4 weeks. In addition, to maintain the knowledge and skills of BLS, appropriate renewal time of certification and improvement of training programs are necessary.

These students were taking problem based learning and simulation as a problem based learning method with an integrated curriculum. Methods: This study used a pretest-posttest with repeated measure design. Data was collected using convenience sampling from the beginning of the 1st semester to the end of the 2nd year when the PBL and S-PBL were completed by those who were enrolled in the integrated nursing curriculum. One-hundred eighty-three surveys were collected and analyzed during the repeat data collection. Results: There we restatistically significant differences of critical thinking, problem solving abilities, learning attitude, motivation and satisfaction post PBL and S-PBL. Conclusion: This study contributes to our understanding of outcomes from the PBL and S-PBL approach. The students undertaking PBL and S-PBL demonstrated that they developed a more positive attitude about their educational experience. In addition, students' tendency to think critically and problem solve improved through the use of the PBL and S-PBL approach.
