한국인의 건강개념에 대한 탐색연구 : Q-방법론 적용 (A Study on Health Concepts of Korean)

  • This paper as the basic study aiming the establishment of nursing theory according to Korean culture, is made to reveal the types of recognition about concepts of health immanent in Korean who have the health view, completely mixed with traditional oriental medicine and Confucianism and Buddhism and Shamanism and european scientific medicine, etc. This paper is using the Q-method, which is greatly effective in measuring the individual subjectivity, to collect rightly the concepts of health of objects. This analysis shows us the 4 types of recognition about concepts of health immanent in Korean as follows. Type Ⅰ: modern self-searching type(現代的 自己 追求型), Type Ⅱ: nature-sharing type(自然 共有型), Type Ⅲ: meaning-intentional altruism(意味 指向的 他者 中心型), Type Ⅳ: oriental adaptational type(東洋的 順應型). The men belonging to type Ⅰ have positive and self-searching view of health. They are not only interpreting the concept of health scientifically, but also positively accepting the oriental concept of health. The men belonging to type Ⅱ have strong tendency of down-to-earth. They not only have the naturalistic view of health as Taoist, but also carry the weight in the family and neighbour and regard co-sharing as excellent virtue. The men belonging to type Ⅲ are positive altruists, pursuing the meaning of life and at the same time setting the importance to the good value system. Naturally they care more the family and neighbour than themselves. The men belonging to type Ⅳ have oriental view of the world characterized by nature-adaptation. They positively agree to the Shamanism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Oriental concept of health. In conclusion, in all types we can see that Korean understand the harmony of man and nature as fundamental principle of heath and carry the more importance to the mind(心) than body(身) and at the same time esteem more the family-centric, oriental and organic community than individual. All above facts is immersed in the concepts of health of Korean as a common denominator.

문제행동 청소년을 위한 긍정심리학 기반 정신건강증진 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of the Mental Health Promotion Program based on Positive Psychology for Adolescents with Problem Behavior)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the mental health promotion program based on Positive Psychology for adolescents with problem behavior. Methods: The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Eligible participants were first grade students in two high schools in K Province. The inclusion criteria for the study were those with scores in the upper 15% on the Korean Youth Self-Report. A total of 74 participants were assigned to an 8-session program (n=38) or to a control (n=36) group. The outcome variables were psychological well-being, depression, and self-esteem. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in demographic variables or outcome variables, except self-esteem, between the two groups at the baseline. The experimental group had higher mean scores on psychological well-being and self-esteem and a lower mean score on depression. There were significant differences in psychological well-being (t=3.45, p=.001), self-esteem (F=5.45, p=.022), and depression (t=-2.80, p=.007) between the two groups. Conclusion: The mental health promotion program based on Positive Psychology was effective in decreasing depression as well as improving psychological well-being and self-esteem for adolescents with problem behavior. This study contributes to suggesting a framework for promoting mental health for high school students with problem behavior.

간호학과 만학도의 전공 과정 경험 연구 (A study on the Experience of Nursing Department Mature-age students Major Course)

  • 본 연구는 만학도 간호학과 학생을 대상으로 대학생활에 관해 학업수행과정 문제점의 본질적인 의미를 탐색해 보는 질적 연구이다. 본 연구의 참여자는 경상북도 K시 일개 대학 4학년의 만학도 대학생으로 학업에 대한 열정을 갖추고 이에 대한 인식을 갖춘 15명의 학생을 대상으로 하였다. 자료 수집은 만학도의 생활과 관련된 경험을 한 학생으로 질문에 대해 48시간 내에 면담과 자기 보고서를 통하여 작성하도록 하였다. 수집된 자료는 Krippendorff의 현상학적 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 만학도 간호학생의 경험을 분석한 결과 4개 범주, 14개 주제, 34개 의미 있는 진술로 도출되었다. 4개의 범주는 '끝이 없는 힘듦', '만학도 그들과 함께 함이 이유', '서서히 찾아가는 자신감', '학문과정에서 인생을 배우다'로 도출되었다. 본 연구결과 만학도 간호학생들의 안정적이고 원활한 대학 적응과 추후 건강한 간호전문직을 양성하는데 유용한 프로그램의 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

사회통합전형 과학고등학교 입학생들을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (Development and Implementation of Education Program for the Science High School Students Who Entered by Affirmative Action)

  • 본 연구는 사회통합전형으로 과학고등학교를 입학하는 학생들을 대상으로 교육 프로그램을 개발 적용하고 그 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 프로그램은 과학고 사회통합전형 학생의 효율적인 학교 적응 지원을 통한 과학기술인으로서의 성장 도모 및 교육 격차 해소라는 목표로 개발되었고, 사회통합전형으로 입학하는 고등학생을 대상으로 입학 전과 입학 초기 여름방학에 적용하였으며 이에 대한 사전-사후 학업적 자기효능감 및 자아탄력성 검사와 면담을 실시하였다. 70명이 입학전 프로그램에 참여하였고, 이 중 56명이 입학 초기 여름방학 프로그램에 참여하였으며, 36명의 학생들이 프로그램 효과와 관련한 일대일 면담에 참여하였다. 검사 결과에서는 자아탄력성에서만 유의미한 차이를 보였으며 면담 결과에서는 학생들이 과학고에 입학하고 나서 학업적인 면이나 학교생활 적응 면에서 프로그램이 큰 도움이 되었다고 하였다. 이를 통하여 이 학생들에게 필요한 지원에 대한 제안과 추후연구를 제시하였다.

한국형 사별돌봄자신감 척도 개발 (Development of a Korean version of the Bereavement Care Confidence Scale (K-BCCS))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean Bereavement Care Confidence Scale (K-BCCS). Methods: The Perinatal Bereavement Care Confidence Scale (PBCCS) was translated into Korean according to an algorithm of cultural adaptation process and excluded six items which were specific to perinatal bereavement. A total of 229 clinical nurses participated in the study. Construct validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and group comparison validity were evaluated, and Cronbach's α was calculated to estimate the reliability of the K-BCCS. Results: The K-BCCS consisted of 31 items in 7 factors, including knowledge and skills for bereavement care (12 items), organizational support (6 items), awareness of the needs (3 items), interpersonal skills (3 items), workload influence (2 items), continuous education (2 items), and understanding the grief process (3 items). The factor loading of 31 items within the 7 factors ranged from .60 to .86. For the convergent validity, the construct reliability (CR) ranged from .74 to .94, and the average variance extracted (AVE) ranged from .49 to .73, which is considered acceptable. The discriminant validity showed that the AVEs of the subscales were greater than the square of the correlation coefficient r. The nurses who had experience providing bereavement care (t=4.94, p<.001) or had received bereavement education (t=6.64, p<.001) showed higher K-BCCS values those without experience. The Cronbach's α of 31 items was .93 and ranged from .60 to .94 per subscale. Conclusion: The K-BCCS is a valid and reliable tool for evaluating nurses' confidence in bereavement care.

COVID-19 감염병 시대, 간호대학생의 임상실습 적응 경험 (Nursing students' experiences of adapting to clinical practice in the COVID-19 pandemic)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to explore and describe the overall clinical practice adaptation experiences among nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This qualitative study applied the grounded theory method by Corbin and Strauss. Data were collected from May to August 2021 through individual in-depth interviews with 14 nursing students from three universities in B metropolitan city. Results: From open coding, 20 sub-categories and 10 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category was the process of "keeping the place of learning while adhering to the restrictions of the era of pandemic" and that it consisted of four phases: confusion, withdrawal, adjustment, and growth. Through this process, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as "shifting to positive thinking," "building a shield to protect oneself," and "focusing on learning." The consequences of these strategies were "adapting to the reality of the infectious disease situation" and "strengthening a foothold to grow as a future nurse." Conclusion: An in-depth understanding of nursing students' experiences of adapting to clinical practice during the COVID-19 pandemic will guide nursing educators to promote effective teaching strategies to better support nursing students in a time of infectious disease crisis.

1918년에 출판된 『간호교과서』 연구 (A study on the Textbook on Nursing published in Korea in 1918)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to better understand nursing education in the early years of the Japanese colonial rule. Methods: We compared the 1918 Textbook on Nursing with the first Textbook on Nursing and to the original text, Grade A Textbook on Nursing, by the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) using the historical research method. The background of its publication and its use in nursing education were exploring, too. Results: After Korea's annexation by Japan, the nursing textbook by the JRCS was appointed as the standard textbook in nursing education by the Government-General in Korea (GGK). Missionary nurse got the permission for the nursing textbook by JRCS and the Textbook on Nursing was published in 1918 using Korean and Chinese characters in combination. This book, an adaptation of the original text, explained the responsibilities and roles of nurses to guide them in serving patients as well as assisting in treatment or directly performing emergency medical treatment when necessary, with a focus on the treatment of the war wounded. It would have been partially used in actual nursing education among the missionary community. Conclusion: Textbook on Nursing in 1918 was published not only for the nursing students of missionary nursing schools but also for other nursing trainees of diverse hospitals, nurses and missionary volunteers and to help them to acquire the licenses. It reflects the enforcement on nursing education by GGK and the reality and resistance in terms of the content of education of nursing in Korea during that period.

예비특수교사들의 특수교육교육과정 문해력 향상을 위한 프로토콜 적용 가능성 탐색 (Exploring the Applicability of Protocol to Improve Curriculum Literacy for Special Education Pre-Teachers)

  • 이 연구는 특수교육과정 문해력 향상을 위한 프로토콜을 개발하고 이를 적용하여 교육현장에서 프코토콜이 예비특수교사들의 특수교육교육과정 문해력 향상을 위해 적용될 수 있는지를 탐색하기 위해 실행되었다. 이를 위해 박윤경 등(2018)의 교육과정 문해력 프로토콜을 일부 수정하여 적용하였다. 특수교육교육과정 문해력 프로토콜은 프로토콜 1, 2로 적용되었으며, 프로토콜 1은 2015 특수교육교육과정 재구성과 문해력을 이해하는 것을 중심으로 진행되었다. 프로토콜 2는 해당 특수교육교육과정에 제시된 5개 교과를 중심으로 교과수준을 재구성하고, 통합적 주제 설정 및 재구성 계획을 세우는 내용으로 구성되었다. 프로토콜은 총 15주차 특수교육교육과정 교과목에 적용되었다. 수업 형태는 역진행수업을 통해 교육과정 전반에 대한 사전 동영상 강의가 제공되었으며, 학습자중심의 자기주도 활동지를 작성하는 형태로 진행되었다. 연구결과 예비특수교사들은 교육과정 재구성을 통해 장애학생의 학업성취와 만족감을 높일 수 있다고 인식하였으며, 교과별/간 재구성 경험이 문해력 향상에 도움이 되었지만 어렵게 느껴짐을 보고하였다.

요양시설노인을 위한 구강간호 임상실무지침 수용개작 (Adapting Oral Health Care Guidelines for Nursing Home Residents in South Korea)

  • Purpose: This study attempted to adapt evidence-based oral health care guidelines for nursing home residents in South Korea. Methods: The manual for guideline adaptation, version 2.0, developed by the Korean National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency was applied. On the basis of a comprehensive literature review of current research and multidisciplinary panel discussion on adapting such guidelines, we developed evidence- based guidelines for oral health at nursing homes. Results: The guidelines have three domains: oral assessment, oral hygiene care, and support and facilities. Oral assessment includes recommendations on the frequency of and tools for conducting oral health assessment. Oral hygiene care involves recommendations for care of natural teeth, denture care, xerostomia, and behavioral problems. Support and facilities refer to six components of the support system provided by facilities to encourage oral hygiene care among nursing home residents. Conclusion: These adapted guidelines could be an effective method to improve oral hygiene among nursing home residents.

Effects of Job Satisfaction Interventions in Reinforcing Intrinsic Motivation for Hospital Nurses: A Meta-Analysis

  • Purpose: Nurses' job satisfaction corresponds with personal intrinsic value, and is the strongest predicting turnover and job retention intention. This study identified the effectiveness of job satisfaction interventions related to reinforcing intrinsic motivation (JSI-RIM) for hospital nurses. Methods: This study used four core non-Korean databases (Cochrane Library, CHINHL, EMBASE, PubMed), and five Korean databases to search for RCT and NRCT articles published in English and Korean from inception to June 2019. Meta-analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.3.5 program. Results: Thirteen studies featuring 645 hospital nurses were selected for final analysis. A significant large effect was noted on self-efficacy. The effect size on perceived stress and job satisfaction were moderate; however, the effect on resilience outcomes was not significant. Conclusion: This study generated scientific evidence that would facilitate efficient job adaptation for nurses. Additionally, intrinsic factors, including job identity and meaning of work, need to be included in JSI-RIM.
