간호대학생의 임상실습 스트레스와 소진의 관계: 영적 안녕의 매개효과 (The Relation between Stress of Clinical Practice and Burnout among Nursing Students: The Mediation Effect of Spiritual Well-being)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the clinical practice of nursing students and to identify the mediating effects of spiritual well-being in the relation between stress of clinical practice and burnout caused by clinical practice. Methods: Data were collected by self-report questionnaires targeting 420 nursing students in three nursing colleges located in Gyeonggi and Chungnam province. Results: Burnout of clinical practice according to general characteristics of the study subjects showed significant difference in religion (t=1.895, p=.049). Stress of clinical practice and burnout of clinical practice showed positive correlation (r=.42, p<.001), existential spiritual well-being showed negative correlation between stress of clinical practice (r=-.17, p<.001) and burnout of clinical practice (r=-.47, p<.001). In addition, religious spiritual well-being in spiritual well-being showed no mediating effects and existential spiritual well-being showed mediating effects between burnout in clinical practice stress. Conclusion: In order to alleviate the stress of clinical practice for burnout of clinical practice prevention of nursing students, solutions to improve the existential spiritual well-being will be required in the future.

신입간호사의 회복탄력성, 직무스트레스 및 소진 (A Study of New Nurses' Resilience, Job Stress and Burnout)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to identify correlations between resilience, job stress, and burnout in new nurses. Methods: The participants were recruited from a university hospital. All participants (N=87) were new nurses whose clinical experience was 12 month and less. We gathered data regarding demographics, resilience, job stress, and the incidence of burnout among the nurses using structured questionnaires. We analyzed the data using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, coefficien and multiple regression analyses. Results: Resilience of the nurses was negatively correlated with job stress (r=-.377, p<.001) and burnout (r=-.568, p<.001), while job stress was positively correlated with burnout (r=.511, p<.001). Resilience and job stress explained 42.5% of the variance in nurses' burnout ($R^2$=.425, F=37.071, p<.001). Conclusion: These results of the present study indicate that the management programs to address job stress and resilience for new nurses should be needed to reduce the burnout among them.

간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스와 소진과의 관계에서 공감의 매개효과 (Clinical Practice Stress and Burnout in Nursing Students: The Mediating Effect of Empathy)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationships between clinical practice stress and burnout, and the mediating role of empathy in nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional research design was employed. One hundred seventeen nursing students completed questionnaires on clinical practice stress, empathy (perspective-taking, fantasy, empathic concern and personal distress) and burnout in December 2017. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 was used and descriptive statistics, frequency, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression were conducted. Baron & Kenny method and Sobel test were adopted for analysis of the mediation effect (personal distress of empathy). Results: The mean scores of clinical practice stress and burnout were 3.45 and 43.09, and perspective-taking, fantasy, empathic concern and personal distress of empathy were 2.67, 2.42, 2.64 and 2.19, respectively. The highest relationship between clinical practice stress and empathy was personal distress of empathy (r=.32, p<.001). Burnout was positively associated with clinical practice stress and personal distress of empathy (r=.22, p=.015; r=.51, p<.001). Personal distress of empathy demonstrated a complete mediating effect on the relationship between clinical practice stress and burnout (Z=3.22, p=.001). Conclusion: These results showed that decreasing personal distress of empathy is important for nursing students, and may help in reducing clinical practice stress and burnout.

보건계열 일부 대학생의 토익학습의 학업소진 영향과 관련된 융복합적 요인 연구 (A study on Convergence Factors Related with Academic Burnout of Students in Health Majors in Studying for TOEIC)

  • 본 연구는 보건계열 일부 대학생의 토익학습에서 학업소진과 관련된 융복합적 요인들을 조사하고자 수행하였다. 조사대상은 J지역에 소재한 대학의 보건계열 토익학습반에서 임의로 선정된 재학생 291명으로 하였으며, 자료수집은 2017년 4월 3일부터 4월 14일까지 기간에 무기명 자기기입식 설문지를 통해 이루어졌다. 다중회귀분석 결과, 여학생이, 수면시간이 부적절할수록, 자아존중감, 자기효능감, 학교적응유연성 및 학습몰입이 낮을수록, 자기유능감, 취업스트레스 및 시험불안이 높을수록 토익학습의 학업소진이 높았으며 이들의 설명력은 65%이었다. 이상의 연구결과를 볼 때, 보건계열 대학생의 토익학습의 학업소진을 낮추기 위해서는 적절히 수면하고, 자아존중감, 자기효능감, 학교적응유연성 및 학습몰입을 높이고 자기유능감, 취업스트레스 및 시험불안을 관리하는 노력이 필요하다. 이러한 결과는 보건계열 대학생의 토익학습의 학업소진을 낮추어 국제화 역량을 키우기 위한 영어 학습 능률을 높이는 데 활용이 기대된다. 향후연구에서는 이들 요인들이 학업소진에 미치는 조절 및 매개효과에 대한 융복합적인 영향 분석이 필요하다.

  • 본 연구는 대학생들에게 MBTI성격유형검사를 실시하여 성격유형별 스트레스 대처방식이 학업소진에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 연구하였다. 연구결과 성격유형은 스트레스 대처방식 및 학업소진과 밀접한 관련이 있음을 나타내고 있다. 스트레스 대처방식 중 문제중심적 스트레스 대처방식은 EP, IJ성격유형에서 부정적인 영향을 미치는 반면 소망적사고 및 정서중심적 스트레스 대처방식은 EP성격유형에서 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 상담자는 스트레스를 받은 내담자가 안정적인 상태에서 긍정적인 상상이나 기도 등을 통해 스트레스를 대처해 나갈 수 있도록 유도할 필요가 있다.

병원간호사의 도덕적 고뇌, 신체증상 및 소진의 관계 (The Relation Among Moral Distress, Physical Symptoms and Burnout of Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between moral distress, physical symptoms, and burnout among clinical nurses. Methods: Data were collected by self-report questionnaires targeting 140 nurses from a university hospital in Chungju. The data were analyzed by, Kruskal-Wallis, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Moral distress due to the general characteristics of the participants showed a statistically significant difference at the current working department (${\chi}^2=36.01$, p<.001). Hospital nurses' moral distress had a statistically significant correlation with burnout (r=.358, p<.001) and physical symptoms (r=.440, p<.001). Factors influencing hospital nurses' burnout, pro were physical symptoms, moral distress, and marital status, accounting for 36% of the variance. Conclusion: The findings indicate that moral distress and physical symptoms influence burnout among hospital nurses. Therefore, interventions for burnout among hospital nurses should include an empowerment program to reduce physical symptoms and moral distress.

스트레스 대처방식이 학업소진에 미치는 영향: 억제효과를 중심으로 한 단기 종단연구 (The Effects of Coping Strategies on Academic Burnout: A short-term Longitudinal Study Focused on Suppression Effects)

  • 본 연구는 학업소진에 대한 스트레스 대처방식의 영향력에 있어 적극적/소극적 스트레스 대처 유형 간 존재하는 억제효과를 구조방정식 모형으로 분석한 단기 종단연구이다. 연구대상은 서울지역 중학생 357명이었으며, 스트레스 대처방식 척도와 학업소진 척도(MBI-SS)를 사용하였다. 두 시점 자료에 존재하는 개인 내적인 변화를 반영하기 위해 단순선형회귀방정식으로부터 표준화된 잔차를 산출하여 각 변수의 변화량 잠재변수를 구성하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 적극적 대처의 변화량과 소극적 대처의 변화량은 정적 상관을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 학생들이 스트레스 상황에서 하나의 대처방식만을 사용하는 것이 아니라 동시에 여러 유형의 대처방식을 사용할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학업소진 변화량에 미치는 영향에 있어서 두 유형의 대처방식 변화량은 각기 다른 양상을 나타냈다. 즉, 적극적 대처의 변화량의 경우 단독으로 투입되었을 때보다 소극적 대처 변화량이 함께 투입되었을 때, 학업소진 변화량에 대한 부적 영향력이 강화되었다. 한편 소극적 대처의 변화량은 단독으로 투입되었을 때에는 나타나지 않았던 학업소진 변화량에 대한 정적 영향력이 적극적 대처방식이 함께 투입되었을 때 발견되었다. 이는 적극적 대처의 변화량과 소극적 대처의 변화량 간 억제효과가 있음을 시사하며, 특히 소극적 대처를 줄이고, 적극적 대처를 강화할 때 학생들의 소진을 영향력 있게 감소시킬 수 있음을 의미한다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 상담에서의 시사점을 논의하였다.

호스피스 자원봉사자의 감성지능, 소진탄력성 및 생의 의미 간의 관계 (The Relationships among Emotional Intelligence, Resilience to Burnout, and Meaning in Life of Hospice Volunteers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among emotional intelligence, resilience to burnout, and meaning in life of hospice volunteers. Methods: Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 200 hospice volunteers who were working at hospitals for six months or longer. Data were collected from March 7 to March 31, 2016, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN 22.0. Results: There was a statistically significant correlation between emotional intelligence, resilience to burnout and meaning in life. The significant predictors of hospice volunteers' meaning in life were resilience to burnout(${\beta}=.47$), emotional intelligence(${\beta}=.15$), educational level(college, ${\beta}=.11$), religion(protestant, ${\beta}=.12$; buddhism, ${\beta}=-.15$), and motivation for neighborhood service(${\beta}=.16$). These variables explained meaning in life up to 50.2%. Resilience to burnout was the greatest effective factor on meaning in life. Conclusion: These results suggest a need to develop programs that improve hospice volunteers' emotional intelligence and resilience to burnout. Also, educational level, religion, and service motivation of hospice volunteers should be considered.

중소병원 간호사의 조직시민행동 관련요인 (Factors associated with the organizational citizenship behavior of nurses in small- and medium-sized hospitals)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine the levels of burnout, self-efficacy, intention to stay, and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among nurses in small- and medium-sized hospitals, and factors related to nurses' OCB. Methods: A targeted sampling method was adopted, whereby 185 clinical nurses employed at 1 of 4 hospitals were enrolled in the study. OCB was measured with a tool developed by Podsaoff et al. Associated factors, including nurses' general characteristics, burnout, self-efficacy, and intention to stay, were measured using a structured survey. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and multiple stepwise regression. Results: Levels of OCB in nurses was on average 3.52 on a scale of 1 to 5, exhibiting a positive correlation with self-efficacy and intention to stay, and a negative correlation with burnout. The final related factors were self-efficacy, burnout and intention to stay with a predictive and explanatory power of 52% for OCB. Conclusion: To increase the level of OCB of nurses, an environment in which such behavior is encouraged needs to be established by introducing measures related to administrative support and task efficiency that reduces mental burnout, while increasing self-efficacy and intention to stay.

간호사의 그릿이 직무열의에 미치는 영향: 긍정심리자본과 소진의 매개효과 (The effect of grit on the work engagement of nurses: The mediating effects of positive psychological capital and burnout)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of grit on the work engagement of nurses and to identify the mediating effects of positive psychological capital and burnout in the relationship between grit and work engagement. Methods: The study subjects were 182 nurses who had been working in a general hospital for more than six months. The data were collected from July 12 to July 26, 2021. The collected 182 sets of data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and a hierarchical regression analysis using IBM SPSS statistics version 23.0 and also by bootstrapping using SPSS Process Macro. Results: As a result of the analyses, it was found that higher work engagement was associated with higher grit, higher positive psychological capital, and lower burnout. The mediating effects of positive psychological capital and burnout in the relationship between grit and work engagement were found to be both direct and indirect. Conclusion: This study provides basic data suggesting that an education program designed to reduce burnout and reinforce grit and positive psychological capital is necessary to promote the work engagement of nurses in clinical settings.
