간호사의 사회봉사활동에 대한 인식과 태도 (A Study on Recognition and Attitudes toward the Social Service Activity of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and attitudes about social service activity(SSA) of nurses. Method: This was a descriptive study. The data was collected from July 15 to 31, 2002 by using a self-report questionnaire consisting of general characteristics(15items), recognition(24items) and attitude(23items) about SSA. The questionnaire was sent to 711 nurses of 38 hospitals in the Gyounggi province area, and 664 questionnaires were returned. The answer rate was 93.4%. The data was analyzed by the SPSS 12.0 Win program. Result: Seventy-one percent of nurses had a SSA experience during university, but only 14.2% nurses participate in SSA now. The mean score of recognition of SSA was 3.58($\pm$0.45), and that of attitude was 3.70($\pm$0.42). The relationship between recognition and attitude had a positive correlation(r=.398, p=.000), the higher the score of recognition, the higher the score of attitude. Conclusion: From these results, to improve nurses' participation in SSA, research to investigate the barrier factors of SSA participation in spite of the high level of recognition and attitude is needed. Programs for nurses to participate in SSA and systemic management should be set up.

간호대학생의 자율적인 학습동아리 활동이 자기주도 학습능력과 학습태도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Self Study Circle Activity on Self-directed Learning Ability and Learning Attitude in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study investigates the effects of self-study circle activity on self-directed learning ability and learning attitude in nursing students. Methods: This research design is modeled on a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design conducted on 36 nursing students (exp.: 21, con.: 15). Data collection was performed from March 2 to July 20, 2013. Data were analyzed using ${\chi}2$-tests and t-tests via the SPSS Win 12.0 program package. The variables were self-directed learning ability and learning attitude. Results: The experimental group revealed significant differences in self-directed learning ability (p<.05) and physiology grade (p<.01) relative to the control group. In contrast, no significant differences between learning attitude were manifest between the two groups. Conclusion: It confirmed that study circle activity is effective in increasing self-directed learning ability in nursing students.

건강행위와 신체건강 및 정신건강이 중년여성의 건강관련 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 : 2014년 한국의료패널 자료 이용 (Effect of Heath behavior, Physical health and Mental health on Heath-related Quality of Life in Middle aged Women : By using the 2014 Korea Health Panel Data)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to measure health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and investigate the relevant factors for middle aged women using the 2014 Korea Health Panel data. Methods: The Korea Health Panel data 2014 were collected from February to August 2014 by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs and the National Health Insurance Corporation and included 2,075 people who responded to the questionnaire. Using SPSS WIN program, the data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Limited activity was the most influential factor for the health-related quality of life of middle-aged women. For health behavior, the factors affecting HRQoL were drinking, sleeping time, and physical activity. For physical health, factors affecting HRQoL were vision problems, eating problems, and hearing problems. For mental health, the factors affecting HRQoL were suicidal impulse, stress, and frustration. Conclusion: These results indicated that to improve HRQoL for middle-aged women, limited activity and suicidal impulses should be addressed.

교사연수에서 SNS를 이용한 협력성찰활동의 효과 (Effective of Collaborative Reflection based on SNS in Teacher Training)

  • 본 연구는 협력 활동의 전략이 교사연수에서 어떤 효과가 나타나는지에 대한 분석을 하였다. 교사 연수의 효과성은 연수 만족도, 효과성, 학업성취도로 설정하였다. 연수에 참가한 초중등 교사들을 대상으로 SNS를 활용한 집단 상호평가 활동군과 개별 자기평가 활동군, 일반 연수군으로 구분하여 연구를 적용하였다. 완전무선화요인설계의 방법으로 교사 연수의 효과성에 대해 변량 분석한 결과, 집단협력 활동이 학습만족도 및 효과성, 학업성취도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 SNS기반 협력적 평가활동이 교사연수에 매우 효과적임을 밝혔다.

NCASA(Nursing Child Assessment Sleep/Activity Record)를 이용한 초기 영아의 수면/활동 양상 연구 (A Study on the Sleep/Activity pattern in Normal Early Infants using NCASA (Nursing Child Assessment Sleep/Activity Record))

  • The purpose of this study is to determine whether the NCASA (Nursing Child Assessment Sleep/Activity Record) would be suitable to evaluate and to provide the basic resources for a Korean model of sleep/activity patterns during the first 6 months Korean infants' lives and to provide a basis for nursing intervention for mothers of early infants. The subjects of this study were 94 normal infants from birth to 6 months of age who visited the postpartum care center and two general hospitals located in Pusan from February 1 to April 28, 2000. The method of data collection was through convenient sampling. The instrument of this study was the NCASA translated by the Korean parent Child Health Academic Association. The collected data were analysed by mean, standard deviation, frequency percentage and ANOVA, Post Hoc test by use of SPSS/PC. The conclusions obtained from this study are summarized as follows: 1. The mean amount of daytime sleep was 8.06 hours. The mean amount of nighttime sleep was 6.31 hours. The mean amount of total daily sleep was 14.37 hours. The mean of the longest sleep period was 5.20 hours. The mean regularity of daytime sleep was 25.84%. The mean regularity of nighttime sleep was 77.69%. The mean regularity of total daily sleep was 42.60%. The mean frequency of nighttime wakenings was 2.33 times. 2. The mean amount of daytime activity was 8.25 hours. The mean amount of nighttime activity was 1.39 hours. The mean amount of daily total activity was 9.64 hours. The mean of the longest activity period was 3.80 hours The mean frequency of daytime feeding was 5.69 times. The mean frequency of nighttime feeding was 2.08 times. The mean frequency of total daily feeding was 7.74 times. The mean frequency regularity of feeding was 54.62%. The mean frequency of wakenings was 5.14 times. The mean frequency of crying was 1.90 times. 3. According to an analysis of sleep patterns based on an infant's age, there were some significant differences in the following factors: amount of daytime sleep(p<.001), amount of night time sleep(p<.05), amount of total daily sleep (p<.001), longest sleep period(p<.001), regularity of daytime sleep(p<.001), regularity of nighttime sleep(p<.01), regularity of total daily sleep(p<.001), frequency of nighttime wakenings(p<.001). 4. According to an analysis of activity patterns based on an infant's age, there were some significant differences in the following factors: amount of daytime activity(p<.001), amount of nighttime activity(p<.01), amount of total daily activity(p<.001), longest activity period(p<.05), frequency of nighttime feeding(p<.01), frequency of wakenings(p<.001). 5. The mean amount of a mother's day time was 16.30 hours. The mean amount of a mother's night time was 7.70 hours. In conclusion, the initial irregular sleeping and activity patterns of the early infant became regurized as the infant grew older and estabilished firmer patterns of sleeping and of activity.

과학관 전시물 연계 동화 활용 스토리텔링 수업이 초등학생의 과학학습정서에 변화를 가져온 요인 분석 (An Analysis of the Factors that Change the Science Academic Emotion of Elementary Students in Storytelling Classes Using Fairy Tales Connected to Exhibits in Science Museum)

  • 본 연구는 과학관 전시물 연계 동화 활용 스토리텔링 수업이 초등학생의 과학 긍정경험에 어떤 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 한 것이다. 연구를 위해 동화를 과학관 전시물과 연관시켜 학교 밖에서도 개인이 과학을 탐구할 수 있도록 탐방활동지를 개발하였다. 초등교과서에 언급되어지는 동화 4종을 G 과학관 전시물과 연계시켜 활동지 4종류를 개발하였고, 개발된 활동지는 현직 초등교사 7명에게 검토를 의뢰하여 내용 검증을 거쳤다. 개발한 활동지를 통한 수업은 10명의 학생을 대상으로 매번 1시간 30분씩 연속 4회 진행하였다. 연구 참여 학생들을 대상으로 과학긍정경험 검사를 실시하여 본 활동이 과학긍정경험의 하위 영역 중 과학학습정서에 유의미한 변화를 일으켰음을 확인하였다. 과학학습정서에 영향을 미친 요인을 알아보기 위해 연구 참여 학생들과 참여 학생의 학부모를 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합해보면 동화를 전시물과 함께 활용하면 과학적 호기심을 유발시켜 과학적 사고를 하는데 도움을 주고, 과학적 흥미를 유발시켜 놀이장소로 인식하는 과학관 전시물체험을 통해 학습 부담감을 감소시켜 과학에 대한 과학학습정서에 유의미한 변화가 있었음을 알 수 있었다.

학습자 활동 중심 과학 수업이 초등학생의 과학에 대한 태도, 학업성취도 및 개념 지속성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Learner Activity-centered Science Class on Elementary Students' Attitude towards Science, Academic Achievement, and Concept Sustainability)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 학습자 활동 중심 과학수업 프로그램을 개발하고, 초등학교 4학년 학생들에게 적용하여 학생들의 과학에 대한 태도, 학업성취도 및 개념 지속성에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 '화산과 지진'에 관련한 초등학교 4학년 교과 내용을 12차시에 걸쳐 재구성을 진행하였으며, 두 집단으로 학급을 나눈 다음 비교집단에는 일반적인 과학수업을 적용하였고, 실험집단에는 글쓰기, 만들기, 표현하기 등 학습자중심활동이 포함된 프로그램을 수업에 적용하였다. 적용 전과 후 두 집단에 과학에 대한 태도, 학업 성취도, 개념 지속성을 알아보기 위한 마인드맵의 자료를 수집하고 마인드맵 채점기준을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 실험집단과 비교집단의 사후 검사 결과 과학에 대한 태도의 하위영역인 인식, 능력, 가치, 흥미지속성에서 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타냈는데, 특히 흥미지속성에서 가장 차이가 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 학업성취도와 관련해서는 사후 성취도 검사 결과 실험집단이 비교집단보다 평균 점수가 높았으며, 사전 성취도 검사 결과와 비교할 때에도 실험집단은 평균 점수의 향상이 확인되었다. 또한 사후 성취도 검사 결과 두 집단은 통계적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 사후 성취도 검사 이후 실시한 개념 지속성 검사에서는 실험집단이 비교집단보다 마인드맵 분석의 평가 기준인 중심원, 가지, 표현 영역에서 모두 평균 점수가 높았으며, 가지 영역을 제외한 두 영역에서 모두 통계적으로 두 집단이 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 학습자 활동 중심 과학수업은 과학에 대한 태도, 학업성취도 및 학생들의 개념 지속성에 효과가 있었다. 학습자 활동 중심 과학수업을 실제 교육 현장에서 적극적으로 도입하고 활용한다면 교실수업을 개선시키는 데에 효과가 있으리라 기대된다.

한국언론정보학회 20년, 비판적 학술운동의 고민과 한계 (A History of the Korean Association for Communication & Information Studies (KACIS) for 20 Years)

  • 한국언론정보학회가 창립된지 20년이 지났다. 이 글은 비판적 학술운동이라는 창립정신으로 출발했던 학회의 20년을 되돌아보면서 그 정체성을 점검하고자 했다. 논문은 크게 세 영역으로 구성되어 있다. 첫째는 1980년대 후반에 태동되었던 비판적 학술운동이 한국사회의 변화와 맞물려 어떻게 변화되었는지를 살펴본다. 둘째는 비판언론학 진영의 학술운동을 표방하며 출발했던 '한국사회언론연구회'의 활동을 되돌아본다. 구체적으로 학회의 창립배경과 창립정신에 기반한 학술연대 운동, 언론연대 운동, 현안 대응 연대 운동 등의 활동을 점검한다. 셋째는 한국언론정보학회로 전환한 이후 학회의 활동 사항에 대한 점검이다. 학회의 20년을 되돌아볼 때, 무엇보다도 가장 큰 성과는 비판언론학의 학문적 영역을 확장시켰다는 것이다. 이에 따라 학회의 외연 역시 성장하였다. 하지만 학회의 초기 정신과 정체성이 제대로 지켜지고 있는가에 대해서는 여러 논란이 존재한다. 이에 본 글에서는 결론적으로 학회의 정체성 강화를 위해 사회적 현안에 대한 유기적 학술회의의 조직, 학보 정체성 강화, 학문후속세대에 대한 지원, 분과활동의 활성화를 강조하고 있다.

The Impact of Acquisition Announcements on Acquiring Firms' Alliance Partners : A Research Review and Compositive Research Model for Retail Industry

  • Purpose - This study addresses an acquisition's impact on a firm's strategic relationship based on findings of existing academic studies and theoretical assertions. Through examining existing research results and theoretical grounds for an acquisition's impact on various stakeholders, this study indirectly approaches the impact on stakeholders including alliance partners. Research design, data, and methodology - This research identified a variety of related theoretical foundations and empirical studies. Research objectives of prior studies mainly focused on merging firms and direct participants of acquisition activity. In addition, academic attention on the impact on rival firms has recently been growing. However, little research on alliance partners was found. Prior studies simultaneously employed event study methodology and cross-sectional analysis to make further theoretical contributions. Results and Conclusions - Based on the findings of prior studies, this research proposed a complementary research model for future academic inquiry into the impact of an acquisition on an alliance partner's return and for predicting an acquisition announcement's effect on alliance partners.

Leadership Roles, Academic Appointments, and Scholarly Activity-Does a Fellowship after Plastic Surgery Training Make a Difference?

  • Background Fellowship training is becoming more popular in plastic surgery, with over half of residents pursuing advanced training. Here, we investigate how clinical and research fellowship training impacts career trajectory and scholastic achievement in academic plastic surgery. Methods Plastic surgery faculty members, from programs recognized by the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, were identified using institutional Web sites. Data extracted included faculty demographics, training history, academic positions, and research productivity. Continuous and categorical variables were compared using t-tests and chi-square, respectively. Results In total, 949 faculty members were included, with 657 (69%) having completed fellowship training. Integrated program residents were more likely to complete a fellowship when compared with independent residents (p < 0.0001). Fellowship trained faculty were more likely to have graduated from a higher ranked residency program, in terms of both overall and research reputation (p = 0.005 and p = 0.016, respectively). When controlling for years in practice, there was no difference found in number of publications, Hirsch index (h-index), or National Institutes of Health funding between faculty between the two cohorts (p > 0.05). In a subanalysis comparing hand, craniofacial, microsurgery, and research fellowships, those who completed a research fellowship had higher h-indices and were more likely to reach full professor status (p < 0.001 and p = 0.001, respectively). Fellowship training had no effect on being promoted to Chief/Chair of departments (p = 0.16). Conclusion Fellowship training is common among academic plastic surgeons. In this study, both clinical and research fellowships were associated with various aspects of academic success. However, fellowship training alone did not affect attainment of leadership positions.
