나카가미 페이딩 채널에서 길쌈부호화된 DS/CDMA 시스템의 성능분석 (Performance analysis of convolutional coded DS/CDMA system in nakagami fading chennels)

  • In this paper, we investigate the performance of convolutional coded DS/CDMA system equipped with a noncoherent M-ary orthogonal modulation scheme, and operating in multi-user environments over slow and freuency nonselective Nakagami-m fading channels with an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). An expression for the pariwise error probability that can be used to compute the upper bound of coded system is first derived. performance of the DS/CDMA system with and without the convolutional codes are then compared. We have obsered that the convolutional coded can compensate the degradation quite well in multi-user situations over the Nakagami fading channels with the AWGN. For the case of an extreme fading, however, it has been seen that the convolutional code reaches its limit to improve the overall system performance as the number of users increse.

부정합된 최대 상관값을 이용한 초기 동기 임계치 결정 기법 (Threshold detection technique for code acquisition using maximum mismatched correlation value)

  • This paper describes an automatic threshold decision using a maximum mismatched correlation value in the direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) system. For received PN codes with different single-to-noise ratio (SNR), this scheme is able to detect a desired threshold value in the search mode, i.e. a maximum mismstched correlation value, so that value is utilized as a threshold for the verification mode. Performance of the proposed scheme in both the additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) and frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed through the Monte Carlo simulation. And hardware implementation of this scheme using a DSP processor is demonstrated. The proposed acquisition shceme is compared to the conventional constant threshold (CT) scheme, and significant improvement of performance is shown. Analysis of system performance in the verification mode is presented, and key quantities such as the false alarm probability and the detection probability are derived in a AWGN channel.

Improved Upper Bounds on Low Density Parity Check Codes Performance for the Input Binary AWGN Channel

  • In this paper, we study the improved bounds on the performance of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes over binary-input additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels with belief propagation (BP) decoding in log domain. We define an extended Gallager ensemble based on a new method of constructing parity check matrix and make use of this way to improve upper bound of LDPC codes. At the same time, many simulation results are presented in this paper. These results indicate the extended Gallager ensembles based on Hamming codes have typical minimum distance ratio, which is very close to the asymptotic Gilbert Varshamov bound and the superior performance which is better than the original Gallager ensembles.

Error Probability Evaluation of a Novel Cooperative Communications Signaling Strategy in CDMA Systems

  • The powerful benefits of multi-antenna systems can be obtained by cooperative communications among users in multiple access environments without the need for physical arrays. This paper studies a novel cooperative signaling strategy that achieves high performance and low implementation complexity for synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless mobile networks. The validity of the proposed strategy under slow flat Rayleigh fading channel plus additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is verified through closed-form error probability expressions and MonteCarlo simulations. A variety of analytical results reveal that the new cooperative strategy significantly outperforms direct transmission subject to the same spectral efficiency and transmit power constraint.

Performance Analysis of Space-Time Block Coded Cooperative Wireless Transmission in Rayleigh Fading Channels

  • This paper studies theoretically the bit error rate (BER) performance of cooperative transmission using space-time block code (STBC) in a fully distributed manner. Specifically, we first propose a STBC-based cooperative signaling structure to make the cooperation of three single-antenna terminals possible. Then, we derive the closed-form BER expressions for both cooperation and noncooperation schemes under flat Rayleigh fading channel plus additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The validity of these expressions is verified by Monte-Carlo simulations. A variety of numerical and simulation results reveal that the cooperative transmission achieves higher diversity gain and better performance than the direct transmission for the same total transmit power.

유선 케이블 모뎀의 FEC 성능평가 (Error Performance Analysis of a FEC for the Cable Modem)

  • 본 논문에서는 미국의 유선 케이블 모뎀 규격인 MCNS(Multimedia Cable Network System) DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification)를 만즉하는 하향 채널의 64/256-QAM 수신부 FEC(Forward Error Correction)를 분석하였다. FEC는 기본적으로 RS(Reed-Solomon) 계층과 TCM(Trellis Coded Modulation) 계층으로 구분되며, 여기에 추가적으로 interleaving과 randomizer 계층들이 결합되어 있다. AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) 환경에서의 BER(Bit Error Rate) 성능평가를 통해 수신부 연판정 비터비 복호기(soft Viterbi decoder)의 추적 깊이(trace-back depth)와 양자화 레벨(quantization level)의 크기에 따라 부호화 이득이 변함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Wireless PAN(WPAN)을 위하여 IEEE 802.15.3a의 표준안으로 제안된 Ultra WideBand(UWB) Multi-Band OFDM(MB-OFDM) 시스템에서의 프리앰블 모델을 분석하교, 효율적이며 향상된 성능을 제공하는 심볼 타이밍 및 반송파 주파수 오프셋 추정 알고리즘을 적용한 후 AWGN 및 UWB 채널 환경에서 모의 실험을 통하여 심볼 타이밍 오프셋 추정 성능은 Detection Probability, False Alarm Probability, Missing Probability 및 Mean Acquisition Time으로, 반송파 주파수 오프셋 추정 성능은 MSE(Mean Square Error)로 확인한다.

A Study on Wavelet-based Denoising Algorithm for Signal Reconstruction in Mixed Noise Environments

  • In the process of the acquisition, storage, transmission of signals, noises are generated by various causes and the degradation phenomenon by noises tends to generate serious errors for the signal with information. So, in order to analyze and remove these noises, studies on numerous mathematical methods such as the Fourier transform have been implemented. And recently there have been many ongoing wavelet-based denoising algorithms representing excellent characteristics in time-frequency localization and multiresolution analysis, but the method to remove additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and the impulse noise simultaneously was not given. So, to reconstruct the corrupted signal by noises, in this paper a novel wavelet-based denoising algorithm was proposed and using signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) this method was compared to conventional methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 DS-CDMA 이동통신 시스템에서 발생하는 다중 사용자 간섭 현상과 Rayleigh 페이딩의 영향을 효과적으로 제거하기 위하여 터보 부호화 병렬간섭제거기를 제안하였으며, Monte Carlo 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 AWGN, Rayleigh 환경에서 사용자수에 따른 신호 대 잡음비의 변화에 따라 제안된 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다.

  • 직접 확산 부호 분할 다원 접속시스템과 시분할 다원 접속시스템을 동일 주파수 대역에서 중첩되어 전송할 때 DS-CDMA 신호에서의 TDMA 신호의 협대역 간섭이 문제된다. 본 논문에서는 DS-CDMA 신호의 협대역 간섭파를 제거하는 방법으로서 복소 다중 비율 필터 뱅크(Complex Multirate Filter Bank : CMFB)를 이용해서 협대역 간섭파 제거법을 제안하고, 간섭제거기(CCI canceller)를 이용해서 다중접속 간섭을 제거하여 DS-CDMA 신호의 성능을 개선한다. 본 논문은 AWGN, MAI 및 NI환경하에서 DS-CDMA 신호와 TDMA 신호의 주파수 공용 시스템에 적용할 때의 DS-CDMA신호의 특성에 대해서 해석하였다. 또 한, 복소 필터 뱅크와 간섭제거기를 직렬 연결한 노치필터를 채용하여 성능개선을 이룰 수 있었다.
