Bleed test methods currently being specified in KS, ASTM and BS are the methods to read the height of bleed water and volume changes of mortar poured into transparent cylinder. Time for measuring of bleed are specified as 3, 20 hours in KS specification, while bleed is measured at 3 hour and change of volume is measured at 24 hour in ASTM and BS specification. Like these, bleed test takes a lot of time to conduct. Another method to measure the bleed is the pressure filter test. This method predict the bleed by measuring the passed water through the fiber glass filter under pressure. This pressure filter test developed by Schupack in 1971 has an advantage in predicting the bleed in shorter time. However, data correlating the pressure filter test results with amount of bleed are limited. Therefore, this study aims at verifying the availability of pressure filter test as a method to predict the bleed and deriving the relation between this test results and bleed.
In this study, machine learning (ML) techniques were used to model surveillance test data of nuclear power plants from an international database of the ASTM E10.02 committee. Regression modeling was conducted using various techniques, including Cubist, XGBoost, and a support vector machine. The root mean square deviation of each ML model for the baseline dataset was less than that of the ASTM E900-15 nonlinear regression model. With respect to the interpolation, the ML methods provided excellent predictions with relatively few computations when applied to the given data range. The effect of the explanatory variables on the transition temperature shift (TTS) for the ML methods was analyzed, and the trends were slightly different from those for the ASTM E900-15 model. ML methods showed some weakness in the extrapolation of the fluence in comparison to the ASTM E900-15, while the Cubist method achieved an extrapolation to a certain extent. To achieve a more reliable prediction of the TTS, it was confirmed that advanced techniques should be considered for extrapolation when applying ML modeling.

The Measurement method of the plastic strain ratio is various in Automotive sheet steel. In this paper, the measurement of the plastic strain are used two different methods, ASTM E 517 method and the automatic strain measurement tensile specimen during the tensile test, and compared the plastic strain ratios from the two methods. The experimental results showed that the measured plastic strain ratios from the automatic strain measurement method are coincide with that from the ASTM E 517 standard measurement in various specimens. Therefore, automatic strain measurement method by two extensometers shows good accuracy. Also, the strain dependance of plastic strain ratios could be recorded by the computer continuously and anisotropy of the strength coefficient, K, and strain hardening exponent, n ,could be compared with each direction automatically through the use of automatic strain measurement system.
The primary factors that affecting concrete sulfate resistance are the chemistry of the Portland cement and the chemistryandreplacementlevelofmineraladmixtures. In order to investigate the effect of those on the sulfate attack the testing program involved the testing of several different mortar mixes using the standardized test, ASTM C 1012. four different cements were evaluated including one Type I cement, two Type I-II cements, and one Type V cement. Mortar mixes were also made with mineral admixtures as each cement was combined with three different types of mineral admixtures. One Class F fly ash and one Class C fly ash was added in various percent volumetric replacement levels. The expansion measurements of mortar bars were taken and compared with expansion criteria recommended from past experience to investigate the effect of each factor.
The role of high volume Class F fly ash in reducing expansion due to Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) was investigated. A series of modified ASTM C 1260 tests were performed under three different levels of NaOH normality, extending the test period to 28 days, using high- or low alkali cement, and Class F fly ash up to 58 % by mass of cement. A reactive siliceous fine aggregate was used. The test results confirm that HVFA replacement in a cementitious system significantly helps in controlling expansion caused by ASR.
본 분석방법은 토양중에 방향성화합물을 함유한 유류 존재를 스크리닝하는 방법으로 ASTM(The American Society for Testing and Materials)에 등록되어 있으며, 수분 제거제를 이용하여 토양수분에 의한 정량 오차를 줄이고 UV-Spectrophotometer로 정량한다.

In the country, due to short comings of natural aggregates of good quality, it is common to use crushed stones. However, the investigation has not been done on the chemical reaction of crushed stones. This study tested and analyzed the aggregate chemical reaction by petrographic examination(ASTM C 295) for the test aggregates which had been tested by chemical method(ASTM C 289) in the first year. As a result, most of test aggregates didn't show any reaction but many have common deleterious mineral. Therefore, there exists the possibility of chemical reaction in petrogrphic point of view

There are a variety of factors affecting measured compressive strength of hardened concrete. One of them is the end surface condition of concrete specimen. So, many capping methods have been developed for the specimen to meet the end condition requirement of ASTM C 39. A series of experimental strength comparison study was carried out using several representative capping methods, including pad capping method which is one of unbonded elastomeric capping system and was newly adopted in the ASTM standard. A comparison was also focused on their economy, convenience, harmfulness, etc.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the alkali-silica reactivity for aggregates in Korea according to test methods: accelerated mortar bar test (AMBT) by ASTM C 1260; chemical test by KS F 2545 (ASTM C 289). The results are as follows: The AMBT (ASTM C 1260) results showed that two (2) igneous rocks (two mica granite and felsite), three (3) sedimentary rocks (arkose, red sandstone and shale), two (2) metamorphic rock (slate and vitric tuff), one (1) mineral (quartz) showed more expansion than 0.1% at 14 days. But, some sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks expanded more than 0.1% at 28 days even though they were less than 0.1% at 14 days. Therefore, it is necessary to extend the experimental dates more than 14 days to evaluate the possibility of alkali-aggregate reactivity. The chemical test (KS F 2545) results showed that five (5) igneous rocks (andesite, diabase, granite porphyry, muscovite granite and diorite) were indicative of potentially deleterious expansion, while two (2) igneous rocks (diorite porphyry and quartz porphyry) were possible indicative of expansion, and three (3) igneous rocks (biotite granite, two mica granite and felsite) were indicative of innocuous reactivity. The above results showed that the results from chemical method (KS F 2545) and AMBT (ASTM C 1260) had little relationship.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to define guideline for fiber-glass-resin-putty repairing method for submarine GFRP by comparing structural strength between normal GFRP and putty repaired GFRP. Methods: GFRP specimen tensile and flexural tests are conducted in accordance with ASTM D3039/3039M-17 and ASTM D790 Procedure A. The collected data was analysed whether satisfies its structural strength criteria. Furthermore, It is analysed to find dominant reason of structural strength changes. Results: The result of the study is as follows; flexural strength of GFRP is satisfied strength criteria for all test cases, but tensile strength is not satisfied its criteria for some cases which over 2 mm depth of surface damage. Conclusion: The fiberglass-resin-putty repairing method should be applied to under 2 mm depth of damage which is not affecting to roving fiber layer destruction in GREP laminate.
